I never forgot you

The day flew by fast and now I was sitting in 8th period science class praying he doesn't walk through those doors.I hadn't seen him at all since first period realizing we only had one class together and now i'm praying we don't have another.

It's like god is playing with my emotions because after a few minutes I see someone standing in front of me and when I look up he's smiling at me and I look down again.He walked away and I thought he was going to leave me alone until he sat down next to me.

"Do you not remember me or something because your acting like you don't."He said the smile was now replaced with a frown.

"I never forgot you how could I forget you."I said in a whisper  while looking at him, then his face broke out in the biggest smile ever.

"I knew it,why did you run away from me then."

"Look around slowly and what do you see?"

He looked around the room and then he looked back to me "Why is everyone looking at us."He said confusion lacing his tone."That is why I ran away from you it's better for both of us if you find some new friends."I got up and walked to the front of the class,at that moment the Mr.Hummers walked in and the class settled down.

The bell rang and I started walking to my locker when I was pulled around the corner when I turned around he was staring back at me. This dude could not take the hint at all, why couldn't he just leave me be I would be gone soon and I don't need him to disrupt that.

He smiled at me and I rolled my eyes, he's always smiling at least that didn't change about him.

"What are doing right now?"

"I was going to go home and go to sleep."That was a lie.

"Come on that's boring I think you and I need to go do some exploring and then we could go get fudge pops."He said with a smirk.

He remembered that is my favorite icecream to get from the ice cream truck and if I remember correctly his was the orange push-ups with vanilla in the middle.

I thought about it only for a second."No, I can't I need to go to the store my refrigerator is looking empty."Which was the truth, but I just didn't know if my mom left some money on the kitchen table or not.

"I thought you were going to sleep." he said with a smirk on his face that made me want to slap him.

"I will after getting the groceries so technically didn't lie."I said with an amused smile. He huffed a frustration "Fine I'm coming with you to the store and I'll bring Yana with me."He said waiting for my reaction.

My heart stopped how could I forget Yana she was only two years old the last time that I saw her she would be seven now she wouldn't remember me but I remember her, I would treat her like a doll I would put these little outfits on her and I would play dolls with her listening to her babble nonsense I could barely hear, and If Mrs.Garcia let me I would help feed her.

I think he knew how much I cared for her that's why he brought her up."Alright fine, but we need to stop by my house first to get the money then we could get your sister."He almost looked calm weirdly calm like he was doing everything in his power to hold in his emotions.

I went by my locker and got my books and he got his and we started to walk down the school steps. Then I realized that there were kids all over and if they saw me getting the car with him that would be bad for both of us.

"So I'm going to walk behind the school and you pick me up back there."I said in almost a whisper so no one saw."What do you mean let's go."He grabbed my hand and practically pulled me all the way to his car. The whole way I felt stares on the back of my head, I refused to look back I know by tomorrow there is going to be a lot of whispers, whispers we could have avoided if he had just listened to me.

We drove in silence while I was showing him where to get to my house and two minutes later we were there. In the driveway sat my mother's car. Why does she choose today the day of all days to be home?

"Oh shit my mom's here."I said in a panicked tone."What's wrong your mother used to love me I'm sure she'll be happy to see me."He laughed while I still looked panicked. He didn't understand her she didn't care and that was the problem she never cared.

I walked out of the car and two seconds later I heard his door shut and we were walking up to the door and I used my key to walk in and my mom was in the kitchen making coffee with her boyfriend Doug sitting at the table.

"There is no food in here you really need to go gro-"She said but then stopped when she saw Percy come from around me. The realization of who it quickly came onto her face."Is that who I think it is? Why didn't you tell me Percy came back?"She said hugging him tightly. I whispered "When did you take an interest in my life?" but no one heard it."I just got to school today so she didn't know either."

"Anyways mom we came here to get some money for the store."I said with annoyance."Well, why don't you ask politely and she'll give it to you."Doug says with a smirk. I have no energy to fight so I just ask politely."Mom can I please have some money for the store."I say while giving a glare back at him.

She passes me the money and I put my bookbag by the door and me and Percy leave."That wasn't so bad was it?"He said with a smile. I just ignored him and started walking in the direction of the car but I sense that he isn't going the same direction and turn around." why aren't we driving?'I said with confusion."My house is only like five houses from here."He laughs and keeps on walking.

Only me, only me this could happen too not only does he go to my school but he lives five houses down from me. We start walking in comfortable silence until we reach his house and on the front porch was his mother Mrs.Garcia she was beautiful woman her tan skin was clear and her hair was full and thick she still had curves and looked the same since the last time I saw her.

As we were about to walk up the porch steps she smiled down to me, and then to her son she said something in Spanish and his cheeks turned a shade of pink. I just ignored it and practically jumped into her arms the one thing that I do remember about her is that she gave the best hugs.

When I opened my eyes standing at the door peeking through I saw her, I pulled away from Mrs.Garcia and bent down next to the door and she smiled.

"I don't know if you remember me but I remember you and I missed you a lot more than your brother."I said while extending my hand to pull her from the door into a hug.

"Hey if I'm not mistaken you said that you would always love me more than anyone in the world."He said while making a crying face and I a few sniffles. I laughed and then looked at him "We were in 1st grade when I said that my feelings have changed tremendously."I turned back to Yana and gave her a wink and she giggled.

"Mom we were going to go to the store to get some groceries and I was wondering if Yana could come with us and then we were going to come back here and me and Amina were going to come back here and watch a movie is that okay?"He avoided eye contact with me.

"Yeah that's fine but sometime soon me and Amina are going to have to spend some time together."

"Thanks mom."He hugged his mom and then grabbed Yana's hand and I hugged Mrs.Garcia one more time before I turned in the direction of the house.
