Dearest Rudy,

I haven't wrote you for so many years.

And now, I think I've got to write you. The notebook calls for me.

Many things happened since we had Tommy. Tommy is now 4 years old, and amusing of course because he just doesn't have same features as yours, but also he has same interest as yours. He loves running so much that I get tired easily just chasing him when he was just 3 years old. I think he's going to be a runner someday. And he's much faster now than then. And I bet that he can be faster than you when time comes.

And well, right now we had another gift from Himmel. I am pregnant with twins. Fraternal twins, one boy and one girl. And ja, we decided to name them Hans and Rosa, in memory of my parents. I'm 6 months pregnant right now and I am so happy even if I'm bearing their heavy weights in my womb. And one funny thing also, you wanted to have four kids and I just insisted into 3 kids only because it's hard giving birth. But even if it's hard, the joy of having a baby is priceless.

Max was married 2 years ago, and he now has a daughter with his wife Izah. Their daughter's name is Isabelle, nice name, ja?  They're still staying and having their new life in Molching. Our papa Alex is still living with himself in Deutschland, but we still visit him there and otherwise he visits here too. He didn't remarry, but I think that whatever he decides, is for his own good.

My book that I've been writing, is almost finished. But at this moment I've been waiting for special things to happen in our lives that I could write in the book. Maybe I might finish this book when we both grow old, but I think the hardwork is still worth it because The Book Thief holds a lot of memories.

Our life, if you want me to describe it, is really different from before. I like our happy life now, all grown up, married with a 4 year old kid and 6 month old twins. But even with this happy life we are experiencing, I still miss the old times. Of course until now we still call each other saukerl und saumench, but I miss the times when we steal books and food from Frau Hermann and Bürgermeister's house, playing soccer with our friends including that kid Tommy Müller, Mama calling me a saumensch and Papa playing the accordion, and going to school. You may not know it, but I long to do it once in a while. If time can be manipulated.

But anyways, I am contented with what I have now. We are happy and that's what matters the most.

I'll write next time.

Loving you dearly,

Liesel Steiner
