I walk into the BAU and see Spencer.
"Hey spence. What's up?" He looks up at me.
"Hey Emily. I'm just reading a book about the reproduction of cells. Actually did you know that when mitosis occurs-"
"Okay, I stopped listening at the word book." He smiles.
"So, how's Y/n doing?"
"She's doing better. She wants to come back to work next week, but I don't think she ready for it." He looks at something in his desk. "I don't have much of a choice but- hey, you okay?"
He looks back up at me. "Uh yeah I'm fine."
"Emily!" Penelope says coming towards me in a hugging motion.
"How's Y/n?"
~
"Hey, Em. I need to talk to you." JJ says tapping my shoulder.
I nod as I follow her to an isolated hallway.
"I need to tell you this before you get married next month." She says hesitantly. "I love you. I know that you love Y/n but, I just need to tell you. I already broke up with Will."
She did what?! She.. she loves me? I'm getting married next month! I guess she took my expression as something else, which is rare for a profiler, because she kissed me.
"Emily?" I hear behind me.
I pulled away from JJ and look at Y/n. Shit.
She's holding a lunch bag and some soda. She must've wanted to suprise me while I was at work.
She drops it and runs away. I start to run after her.
"Y/n!"
"No Emily, I don't want to hear it." She presses the elevator button.
"But she-"
"No, Emily, we are not doing this. Not now." The elevator opens and she walks unside, pressing the button.
A tear rolls down my cheek as the elevator closes. I feel a warm hand on my back.
"it's oka-"
"It's okay?! No, it's not okay. My whole relationship is over because of you. You shouldn't have broke up with Will, and you shouldn't have kissed me."
"em-"
"I was supposed to get married next month. You realize that? We were gonna get married and have a life of our own, but you ruined that. Im done, JJ, okay? I'm no longer your friend." I say as I storm to the bathroom, tears coming down my face. It took me a minute to understand that people were watching.
Now I'm gonna get in trouble because of her.
