Hope you like it!
"I'm back!" Kiran announced as she closed the door of the room. "Your dad gave me the things I need for you."
Parker, who became more exhausted after drying and dressing in clean clothes, turned his head towards her. "How fun," he sighed and sat up, struggling a little.
Kiran put the plate and medicine on the bedside table and helped him sit up straight. After Parker sat straight, Kiran grabbed the small cup which had a thick, clear liquid on the bottom and held it in front of Parker. "Drink this," she ordered.
Parker looked at what she had in her hand and glared at it. "I don't wanna," he muttered as he turned his head to the side. "It tastes weird."
"You need it to get better though. Or do you want to spend Christmas in bed?" Kiran asked while seeing Parker's glare soften. "Jumin told me that you asked him for a Christmas stream and also said that he's excited to play something you like."
Parker glanced at Kiran with doubt on his face. "Really?"
"Yes," she smiled. "Jeong said that he wants to eat some cookies with you sometime during the day." Parker watched Kiran put the cup in his hand helplessly. "You don't want us to also get sick, right?"
"That's true," he whispered. With a little hesitation, he held the cup and downed it in seconds. Kiran chuckled when she saw Parker scrunching his face up while he stuck his tongue out. "Pain."
"Here." She gave Parker the water bottle and grabbed the bowl with porridge. "I also made porridge. Just the way you like it, or how your dad says you like it," she added after Parker looked confused at her.
"Oh, dad..." He stared at his lap and grew silent when the words left his lips.
"He told me about your mom a little," she said, handing Parker the bowl. "Is that the reason why you became sick?" Parker kept silent. "I'll take that as a yes then."
"It was for a good cause," Parker pouted as he crossed his arms. "For me and my sanity."
Kiran shook her head as she tried to fight back a smile. "If you say so," she replied. "He's going to tell your mom that you can't go to her anymore, so your little plan worked."
"It worked, but at what cost?" Parker sneezed, letting out almost no sound. "I only feel pain."
"Did you have another option?" Parker shook his head. "See? You didn't have anything else. And if you listen to me, there's a chance that you're not sick tomorrow."
"I hope so," Parker mumbled, sinking his spoon into the mushy food. He taste-tested it a little and let the whole spoon into his mouth. "Grandma's better," he commented while he continued eating.
Kiran shrugged. "Ben told me to just put lots of sugar and cinnamon in it. I don't know that much of porridge because I have never eaten it at all. Only Jeong likes to eat it when he's in one of his moods," she explained, smiling when she mentioned Jeong.
Parker glanced at his plate and scooped a spoonful. "You want some?" He asked with a full mouth.
"It isn't polite to eat with your mouth full, Jeo- Parker," she scolded, almost forgetting that she isn't talking to Jeong. "And you're also sick, so I don't think that it's a good idea to eat from your spoon."
"Sorry," Parker mumbled, dropping his spoon in his bowl. He thought about what Kiran said for a second and continued eating.
Kiran sighed, smiling slightly. "Just like a child," she hushed.
Parker furrowed his eyebrows as he turned to her. "What?"
Kiran shook her head. "Nothing," she grinned, patting his head.
"If you say so," he said and finished his food. He put the empty plate on the desk next to his bed. "I finally ate something after so many hours," he sighed and grinned at Kiran. "Thank you for everything."
"You don't need to thank me," she smiled. "I'm always happy to help."
"Eunwoo did mention that she was a caregiver," he thought. "But why?"
Kiran's cheery expression changed into a puzzled one. "Why what? Did I do something wrong?"
"You didn't," Parker chuckled. "But why are you helping me so much? You don't even know me that well."
"Well, it's because I heard so many good things about you for everyone," she replied.
"Really?" Parker asked. "Even from Taeyung?!"
"Well..." She chuckled awkwardly. "Don't tell him I told you, but he compares you to a golden retriever."
Parker laughed softly. "I didn't expect anything else from him."
"But Jeong loves to talk about you. He still can't get over the plushie you gave him. The same goes for the others and with the time you spent with them. You really have brightened up the mood around the house and I very much appreciate it," she continued, sitting down next to Parker's legs on the bed.
"But I didn't do much," Parker replied, looking down as he picked on the blanket. "I was just hanging out with everyone so they would feel comfortable around me."
"And you did very well. Even with the spontaneous switching, you quickly changed your action or tone if it was needed. Like with the first time you met Jeong and Eunwoo. You made them feel comfortable in a place they didn't know anything about," she explained. "You even went all that way to buy clothes with Eunwoo."
"I didn't mind buying her something she was more comfortable in," he shrugged. "Why would I say no to that?"
"Still, it was a nice gesture of you and I wanted to know who this "famous" person is."
"Haha, sorry you didn't get to meet me in a better time," he laughed sheepishly. "We can hang out more when I'm better again. What do you like to do?"
"I like to draw and read, but it isn't that exciting," Kiran replied and saw Parker frown at her. "I know it's kind of weird."
"Why would that be weird?" He asked. "It's basically what my sister likes. Can I see your drawings? And I have a good selection of novels on my shelves." He nodded at the bookshelf in front of him. "You can check it out if you want to."
"Thank you," she beamed, watching Parker yawn. "And I think it's a good idea for you to sleep."
"Okay then," he sighed, lying down. "I'm not sure if you'd be here when I wake up, so I hope to talk to you soon again."
"Sleep tight, Parker," she grinned. Parker smiled at her and slowly fell asleep while Kiran scanned his bookshelf.
After three hours, Parker woke up from his slumber. He sat up and noticed that Jumin was sleeping while sitting on the ground with his face on the bed.
A fond smile became visible on his face as he caressed Jumin's cheek. "Thank you for everything," he whispered.
