Don't Give Up

Chapter 2

(A/N: heads up this chapter is long it's a little triggering in the beginning but don't worry we have some preath fluff!!)
Emily's pov*
"Why do you need to pull a prank on alex and Hope did you not learn from the last time you pranked them half the team were ready to plan  your funeral Em" said Kelley as we walked up to Alex and hope's room.
"You don't have to help out just stay at the end of the hall and make sure nobody comes so I don't get caught" I explained annoyed that she wasn't listening to me.
"Fine but I wont help you get out of dying by your own teammates" said Kelley as she kept an eye out for me then I slowly opened the door don't ask me how I was able to get a room key. I grabbed my bucket of ice cold water and walked towards Alex's bed and threw water on her and then hurried up and left once I heard her scream.
"Hurry run run Kelley we got to go" I said as I grabbed her by the shirt and took off out of the hotel that way they can't pin it on us since we aren't in the hotel.
"Fuck I hope you know they are going to kill you" said Kelley as we walked to a coffee shop.
"No they won't because they aren't going to know who it was I was hoping that I was quick enough to leave the room before they spotted me but who knows I guess we will find out eventually but hey you are dying with me I hope you know that for being my helper" I explained to Kelley.
"Yeah yeah whatever" said Kelley when both of our phones went off so I checked it and it was the group chat.

Who ever pranked Alex better fess up now or suffer the consequences because Hope is on a rampage so if it was any of you idiots fess up now or practice will be brutal for everyone and no scrimmages it will be beep tests until you either fess up or faint either one. That will leave out Alex and Hope****
"Fuck you don't think she's serious about that do you" I asked.
"It's Carli Em when is she ever not fucking serious you better tell her" said Kelley once we walked into the coffee shop.
"But my question is why is Hope mad when I threw the water on alex and not her I figured she'd be fine since it wasn't her" I said pretty confused.
"Who knows Emily" said Kelley.
Hope's pov*
"Hope why are you so mad" groaned Amy tiredly as we all sat down in the meeting room.
"Yeah hope alex was the one that got pranked so what has you so upset" asked Abby confused.
"It's none of y'all's business as too why it made me angry" I said hoping I don't have to tell them that I'm only angry because they caused Alex to have a serious panic attack thinking her boyfriend was in the hotel room. It took me ten minutes to calm down and then another five minutes to get her to stop apologizing to me once she didn't think I was going to hit her.
"But we need to have a reasonable reason as too why I said I was going to make practice brutal for people" explained Carli.
"It doesn't matter what the reason is just make up a fucking reason" I said.
"It's okay you can tell them what happened" whispered Alex.
"Are you sure" I asked wanting Alex to be completely sure that it was okay that I told them.
"Yeah" whispered Alex.
"I'm upset because Alex had a serious panic attack thinking her boyfriend was in the room with us" I explained.
"Why would that send her into a panic attack" asked Carli confused.
"She was hiding in the corner of the room pleading her so called boyfriend not too hit her he wasn't even in the room to begin with and then once I got her calmed enough she had to beg me not to hit her as well for waking me up" I explained.
"Alex does your boyfriend abuse you and please be honest we could help you out" said Amy.
"I don't want to answer that please" said Alex who was currently silently crying.
"Alex it will be okay we won't let anything happen too you" explained Lauren gently.
"Yes he does" whispered Alex.
"Okay are you hurt at the moment Alex" asked Becky.
"Just some old bruises" explained Alex not completely saying the whole truth.
"Are you sure that's all it's okay too tell us" explained Lauren.
"Alright guys let's just stop with the questions you are overwhelming her" I said when I noticed she was starting to panic again.
Sydney's pov*
"Is anyone else ready for this practice today" I said while yawning.
"To be honest no I was up pretty late doing homework" pouted Mal as we got ourselves some breakfast.
"Where are the rest of the team at" asked Rose.
"They had to have a meeting someone pranked Alex and Hope went on a rampage which is why Carli texted us saying whoever did it practice was going to be brutal for them" explained Kristie.
"Who was it does anyone know" I asked confused I'm pretty sure we all agreed on not pranking Alex since the last time she nearly made sure she was gonna break some ankles at practice and we all knew she was serious.
"I'm honestly thinking it was Emily or Kelley to be honest" said Ashlyn.
"Well whoever it was better fess up because if not practice is going to be brutal for all of us" I said as I finished eating.
"Yo what's up peeps" said Emily as she and Kelley walked in the cafeteria room.
"Is everyone here now" asked Abby as her and a few more walk in the room alex standing close to Hope looking around nervously.
"It seems so" said Becky.
"We want to know who pranked Alex and we want to know now" said Hope.
"I was up late doing homework so it wasn't me" said Mal who honestly looked pretty tired.
"I'm pretty certain I saw Kelley and Em leave the hotel once I heard someone scream" said Christen.
"It was a harmless prank though why is it such a big deal" asked Emily.
"It might not seem like a big deal but I spent 10 minutes trying to calm alex down from a major panic attack because she thought her boyfriend was in the room with us she was pleading for him not too hit her again because she was already seriously hurt to begin with and then I spent another 10 minutes calming her down because she thought I was going to hit her from now on Alex is not to be pranked do you understand" said Hope.
"Is that why you were buying bandages and medicine for cuts at Walmart yesterday" asked Christen.
"What is she talking about Hope how bad is Alex hurt" asked Lauren.
"She was beaten pretty badly with the metal part of a belt her back is seriously messed up" explained Hope.
"I honestly thought Ali and Ashlyn did something when I noticed the blood but then realized they wouldn't do that" explained Hope.
"But we are letting you guys off with a warning don't let it happen again now hurry up we have to get to practice alex you can just practice your shots today with whoever you want" explained Abby.
"I want Ali with me" said Alex.
"Okay let's get to it" said Lauren.
*Skip Practice*
Ali's pov*
"Hey Ali are you and Ashlyn mad at me" asked Alex who I can tell is extremely nervous.
"Alex we could never ever be mad at you for this although I'm upset that I didn't notice but no me and Ashlyn are not mad at you I'm pretty sure Syd isn't mad either and I know how much you two hang out with each other" I said trying to cheer her up.
"Hey Alex let's change your bandages really quick in the locker room before we head back to our rooms for a nap or something" said Hope once she ran over to us.
"Okay that's fine Ali do you want to hang out later after I take a small nap" asked Alex nervously.
"Yep do you want Christen to come hang out with us too or no" I asked knowing that Christen and Alex were pretty close since Alex is Tobin's best friend.
"Hey babe is everything okay with Alex" asked Ashlyn as she kissed my cheek.
"Yeah she just wanted to know if we were mad at her" I answered.
"Why would we be mad at her you explained that we weren't mad right I mean I am mad but not at her I knew something was wrong when we went to pick up Alex but do you remember during games at our club team she wouldn't change with the rest of the team I feel like all of us should have known or asked about it you know" explained Ashlyn.
"Yeah but we both know alex babe shes pretty closed off to begin with when it comes to her feelings or need help in any way if thinks she can do it without the help now come on I have to talk to press here in a second what will you be doing later" I asked Ashlyn once we made it back to the hotel.
"Hopefully you" smirked Ashlyn making me shove her into the wall.
"You freakin idiot no but seriously will you be hanging out with Tobin and Pinoe" I asked once I put my stuff into my room and by my bed.
"Yeah Tobin wants to talk about some surfing she's been doing and she knows besides Kelley I'm the only one that will listen. What about you what will you be doing" asked Ashlyn.
"Alex wanted to hang out once Hope and her wake up from her nap" I answered as I laid my head on her chest.
"Okay well have fun with alex let me know if you two need anything from me" said Ashlyn as she kissed the top of my head.
Tobin's pov*
"Babe seriously get up" said Christen as she shoved me off the bed.
"Was it really necessary for you to shove me off of my own bed for one it's something you shouldn't do to your girlfriend and two it's just plain rude now why is it that you want me to get up anyways" I asked as I stood up and dusted myself off before sitting back on the bed.
"To be honest I was bored so that means it's your job as my girlfriend to hang out with me it's in the girlfriend handbook that I borrowed from Ali" said Christen.
"Then why don't you go hang out with Ali then" I asked confused.
"Because I'm pretty sure her and Ashlyn are hanging out right now but who knows" shrugged Christen.
"PARENTS" yelled Mal and she ran into the room with Lindsey right behind her.
"Well it's a good thing Christen woke me up for attention and not this" I mumbled making Christen smack my arm.
"Okay children what seems to be the problem" I asked as I pulled Christen so that she was sitting between my legs.
"Okay so I have a serious question and before you even think about listening to anything Lindsey says please take what I'm about to ask into consideration okay parents" said Mal as she lowered her glasses and sat down at the desk making us look to Lindsey who just waved us off hmm rude.
"Okay we are listening or well at least I am I don't know about Tobin though because she lacks at giving me attention at the moment" said Christen making me roll my eyes.
"Okay so if you had too pick between speed and teleportation to have while playing soccer which one would you choose and please choose wisely and don't be an idiot like Lindsey and say the wrong one" said Mal very seriously.
"I'd pick speed" answered Christen.
"I'd pick teleportation because then I could teleport to the goal and score" explained Tobin making Mal hit her head against the desk repeatedly.
"I'm guessing that was the wrong answer" I said confused.
"Yes babe because if I have the power of super speed by the time you even think about where to teleport my team would have five goals" explained Christen.
"See but don't worry Tobin Lindsey said the same thing as you maybe I'm not your child how could you lie to me like that" said Mal as she started fake crying.
"Oh hush it we aren't even your real parents" I laughed as I chucked a pillow at her.
"Yes just keep breaking my heart why don't you come on Lindsey lets go find Lauren and complain how Tobin broke my heart" said Mal as she dragged Lindsey out of the room.
"Children can't live with them might as well just chill" I said.
"Babe that's not the saying but okay you can go chill Ali texted me earlier and asked if I wanted to hang out with her and alex which is exactly what I want because someone here is lacking in the whole give me attention department I know alex would definitely give me cuddles" said Christen as she got up kissed my cheek and then left.
Amy's pov*
"Hey Lex you okay" I asked once I noticed that alex has been staring at the wall in front of her for a while now.
"Huh oh yeah I'm fine did you need something" asked Alex who was still focused on everything around her.
"No not necessarily but I was wondering if you wanted to go out to eat with me and Mal" I answered.
"Where are you guys going to eat" I asked Alex who had a look of fear on her face but it quickly changed to her forcing a small smile. Oh Alex sweetie I know everything seems to be scary right now but I promise you the team will always make sure you are safe.
"We were just planning on hitting up ihop Mal and I seem to be craving some breakfast for dinner at the moment if it's cool with you" I answered hoping alex would come with us to go out to eat.
"I think I might take a rain check on that" whispered Alex.
"Are you sure do you want Mal and I too bring you some food or something" I asked pretty sad that she won't come with us but I'm not going to force her too do something if she doesn't want to do it.
"Um no thanks I'm good but you and Mal have a good time I need to get going my boyfriend will be calling me back here shortly and I don't want to miss that call but thanks for the invite anyways" said Alex as she walked away from me.
"Hey Amy is alex coming with us" asked Mal.
"Nope she said she wasn't necessarily hungry and was in to much pain to do anything" I answered.
"Well damn that's okay though if you don't want to go that's fine with me I'm okay with going by myself or I can ask Kelley to come with me" explained Mal.
"Remember Mal Kelley and em are being punished that can't go anywhere today" I said.
"Oh yeah" laughed Mal.
"But come on let's go before someone catches us and then next thing you know that whole team is going to want to come with us and that's honestly a bigger mess waiting to happen" I explained as we left the hotel.
Christen's pov*
"Has anyone seen Alex" asked Hope.
"No not that I know of why is she okay" I asked hoping Alex was okay.
"To be honest I'm not sure she isn't replying to my text messages can you try texting her and see if she'll reply to you press" asked Hope.
"Yeah if she replies I'll text you to let you know" I answered hoping that would calm her down a little.
"Yeah okay me and Carli will be chilli in her room" explained Hope as she left then I grabbed my phone to send Alex a text hoping she'll answer.

I'm at the gym. Do you want to keep me company? Or did you just want to know where I'm at?

I'll keep you company!! Give me about 5 minutes and I'll be there!! ****
"Hey Chris where are you going" asked Sydney who was currently on the phone with her boyfriend.
"To the gym" I explained.
"Hey before you go to sleep text Hope that I know where alex is at and not too worry about it" I said as I left the room and jogged to the gym. Once I've made it into the gym I noticed that Alex was currently working on some cardio and me being the nice person just decided to sit on the bench and wait for her too get done that way I didn't scare her. So I just decided to chill on me phone for a while and check up on a few business things that I can't normally do if Tobin's around.
"Hey" said Alex as she plopped down on the bench right next to me.
"Hey buddy is there a reason why you are working out so late not that I mind but I was just curious" I asked.
"It's a distraction from the thoughts in my head" explained Alex but I can tell that she wasn't telling me the full truth.
"I see well how about you go shower and we can get ourselves a little snack before we go to sleep" I suggested because I honestly don't think she's eaten today.
"I'm not that hungry but yeah I'll shower but I'm going to need to have you put some medicine on my back when I get out I brought some with me because I didn't want to wake up hope and have her do it if she's sleeping by the time I get back to our room" explained Alex.
"That's fine with me we can go to my room and you can shower there that way when you are done we can just go get a late snack and chill" I suggested.
"Okay let's go" said Alex.
Carli's pov*
"What's going on with you and Alex" I asked Hope.
"What do you mean what's going on with me and Alex do you not see how scared she is right now she flinches every time one of us raise our hand a little. She has nightmares Carli so bad that she wakes up having a panic attack yes we've already been here for a couple days one I'm losing sleep to help her out which I honestly don't mind she needs someone to be there for her Carli" answered Hope.
"Yeah I understand that but you can't let this affect how you play you are our starting goal keeper we need you to be focused not worrying about Alex" I explained like I'm not trying to be a cold hearted bitch but we needs to stay focused.
"Do you hear yourself Carli like honest to fucking god we don't know how long this has been going on we were all blinded by this what if she's been seriously hurt during the last camp and was still playing the way she was getting tackled left and right last camp you've seen how hard other teams go after her Carli. And for you too tell me not too worry about her is completely fucking wrong now and for the record I'm retiring from playing soccer I can't do it anymore I'm not getting any younger and I've accomplished everything that I wanted to do so now you don't need to worry about me not being on my a game now do you and I'm going to leave and get some sleep before I say something I regret good night Carli" said hope as she left the room while slamming the door.
"Well then" I said.
