Chapter 3

Alex's pov*
"Alex what's going on are you okay why are you packing your things" asked Hope as she walked into the room.
"I can't do this anymore hope I can't and I know it's affecting you and the team I'm sorry but Jill decided to send me home early she said I need to get things figured out and that I was distracting the team and then I can come back I'm sorry for everything I'll text you guys when I get home but I just wanted to tell you I promise I will have everything figured out just in time for our game" answered.
"She can't do that you aren't a distraction alex I promise you we all care about you we just want to make sure you are safe" said Hope.
"I know you guys want to make sure I'm safe but I'll be staying at Sydney's place while I'm back in Orlando" I explained I'm honestly half telling the truth there's some medicine I have to pick up from my place though before I do head over too Sydney's place.
"But what if something happens alex" asked Hope.
"Sydney's boyfriend will be home if something happens I promise Hope look you'll be the first person I call if something were to happen I promise" I explained to Hope.
"Fine but put me as your emergency contact okay just to be safe" said Hope.
"Fine" I said as I finished packing up my bags and left.
Tobin's pov*
"Hey Hope where is alex she's normally attached to you or my girlfriend" I asked when I realized I haven't seen alex for a while.
"She went back home to Orlando Jill sent her home because she thinks alex is a distraction at this point" answered Hope.
"Wait are you serious" I asked confused as too why she'd do that.
"Yep now come on we have practice I think it's going to be an easier practice today since we've been having brutal practices for the past week" explained Hope.
"Actually Jill canceled practice she's giving us a day off to give us a little break" I explained.
"Oh okay then I'm going to hit the gym or something" said Hope as she walked away.
"Well that was interesting" I said to myself as I walked to the hotel pool since I'm in the mood for a little swimming today.
"What's interesting" said Christen as she jumped on my back scaring the shit out of me in the process.
"Are you serious babe you could have hurt us both" I said while trying to calm myself down from almost having a heart attack.
"Oh stop being dramatic if you weren't in your own little world you would have heard me behind you" said Christen.
"Oh my bad sorry I was just thinking about what Hope said" I explained as I gently put her down once we got to the pool.
"Oh what did she say" asked Christen.
"That Jill made Alex leave because apparently she's a distraction to us" I answered.
"Oh my god is Alex okay" asked Christen looking pretty scared.
"Babe why do you look so scared what's going on" I asked pretty confused.
"I've heard the way alex talks to herself when she thinks she's alone in the locker room Tobin I think she's severely depressed I mean I'm no therapist so I can't really diagnose her but she shows signs I have to go I love you babe enjoy your swim" said Christen as she gave me a kiss then ran to who knows where.
"Love you too" I said then got into the pool.
Christen's pov*
"What the fuck were you thinking" I said to Jill who was currently talking to Hope Ashlyn and Alyssa.
"What do you mean" asked Ashlyn.
"How about we calm down that way you don't get suspended Chris" said Hope as she got up.
"Alex shows signs of being severely depressed she's been talking about ending things and you sent her back to her abuser before we had the chance to actually help her" I said.
"She was a distraction to this team what else was I supposed to do keep her here and have you guys practicing like you were rookies now if you continue to keep talking like that I'll bench you for the biggest games of your career" said Jill pissing me off even more.
"Okay I'm sorry" I said as I left the room and ran back to my room and ended up running into someone.
"God fucking damn it I'm so sorry" I said as I picked up some books.
"It's okay mom I wasn't paying attention to what's around me I was on the phone with my girlfriend and was heading back to my room to finish up some homework" said Mal as she got up off the ground.
"You have a girlfriend since when" I asked confused.
"Huh girlfriend what me since when I think you heard me wrong got to go" said Mal as she ran away.
"Well that was strange" I said as I walked into my room to see Sydney watching Netflix.
"Hey are you okay" asked Sydney.
"Yeah I'm fine I'm just worried about Alex being away from all of us I can't believe Jill sent her back to Orlando what if something happens to her" I answered as I plopped down on her bed even though mine was literally not that far.
"She's staying with my boyfriend at my house so she should be decently okay I'm not gonna promise anything though but if her boyfriend tried going after her I made my boyfriend promise me he'd take care of her and to call me if it was an emergency" answered Sydney.
"I know but Syd she's depressed" I said while wiping my tears.
"I know now why don't you take a long hot shower and relax I don't think you being extremely stressed is going to help any" said Sydney.
"Yeah I guess your right but if something was wrong you'd let me know right" I asked just to be sure.
"Yes and I already promised Hope I'd let her know too because if I didn't she'd make sure I wouldn't be playing for a few games which is honestly so weird too see Hope like this but it's whatever" said Sydney.
"Yeah well I'm gonna shower and relax for a little bit of Tobin knocks on the door let her in" I said as I walked into the bathroom.
Lindsey's pov*
"Hey Rose do you know where our little gremlin is" I asked.
"Who are you talking about" asked Rose who currently watching something on her phone.
"Mal who else would I be talking about" I answered confused.
"Oh duh sorry I'm a little dumb sometimes" laughed Rose.
"Yes yes you are but it's okay let's go find the gremlin" I said as I grabbed Roses phone from her hands.
"Lindsey give that back" whined Rose as I jogged too Roses room to see if Mal is there.
"Nope sorry no can do I don't need you being distracted on this mission of finding Mal" I explained.
"What are you children doing" asked Megan.
"Hi pinoe we are looking for Mal have you seen her" I asked.
"Hmm not sure that I have maybe she's in her room doing homework now i have to go children my best friend's girlfriend seems to be lost gotta find her and keep her away from her longer" said Megan as she left to go find Ali.
"Why would she keep Ali away from Ashlyn that's like a disaster waiting to happen" asked Rose confused.
"It's Megan she does what she wants" I said as we walked to rose and mal's room.
"Please tell me you have your key on you" I said not necessarily feeling in the mood to knock today.
"Yeah why wouldn't I" asked rose confused as she opened the door.
"Who are you FaceTiming" I asked as I plopped down on mal's bed.
"Well babe I have to go enjoy your interrogation by the teammates" said some chick and then hung up.
"None of your business" said Mal as she put her phone down with a pout.
"I believe that chick called her babe so I'm guessing little baby Mal here has a girlfriend" said Rose with a smirk.
"There's no point in denying it now but yes I have a girlfriend her name is Taylor and I go to school with her well I was but now I'm doing online classes because of soccer season" explained Mal.
"Hmmm interesting if I do say so myself" I said.
Abby's pov* triggering*
"Does anyone else think practice has been a little rough" I asked the rest of the vets.
"Maybe if you guys weren't so distracted it wouldn't be that difficult" said Carli.
"Nope I'm fucking leaving before I kill someone" said Hope as she stood up but Lauren made her sit back down.
"Okay Carli please explain to us why you think we are distracted so far we've been doing very good in practice" asked Amy.
"She thinks Alex was distracting us I bet you told Jill that right that's why Christen was pissed and almost got herself suspended" explained Hope which made all of us confused because normally Christen is a calm person she rarely ever gets mad during camps and all that.
"What Christen did thats on her if she got herself suspended that's her fault and yes I did tell Jill because Hope you haven't been sleeping" explained Carli.
"Okay what did Christen do that caused her to almost get fired" I asked trying to calm Hope down a little but if Carli keeps talking the way she does I won't hesitate to have Hope break her ankles.
"All the goal keepers were having a meeting with Jill because I plan on retiring after this camp when Christen barges into the office asking Jill what the fuck were you thinking and I tried calming her down that way she didn't ruin her career. But she goes on to tell Jill that Alex has been showing signs of being severely depressed like severely and asked her why she would send her back to her abuser before we have gotten the chance to help her out and then Jill threatens her by saying she was gonna bench her for the big games and Christen apologized then left the room" explained Hope.
"Carli do you know what you just did" I said angrily.
"What if she's lying" exclaimed Carli.
"You didn't see the marks on her back from getting beaten with a fucking belt Carli I did you don't see her panic attacks when one of you touch her without her knowing Kelley touched her just for a second and flinched. You aren't there for her when she has her nightmares and you not knowing how to calm her down. You haven't seen her beg you not too hit her because she's kept you awake. I was coming up with a plan to have alex stay with me after camp then she can stay at Ashlyn's and Ali's place during soccer season when she plays on the pride but of course you had to run your damn mouth and put Alex in a lot more danger than she already is. We all care about Alex and you need too pull your head out of your ass and realize what you are doing is extremely wrong"  explained Hope as she left the room.
"I swear to god Carli if Alex is hurt while all of us are at camp you can deal with the guilt of sending her back to her abuser her blood will be on yours and jills hands and that's on you and you only" I said.
Hope's pov*
"Hey Hope is everything okay" asked Sydney as she sat down on the bench next too me.
"Yeah thanks for letting alex stay at your place with your boyfriend" I answered as I checked my phone for a text from alex letting me know she's okay.
"It's honestly no problem we will help her you know hopefully it won't get too bad while we are stuck in camp" explained Sydney.
"Yeah I just really want to protect her you know" I said.
"Hey guys everything okay" asked Christen.
"Yeah Carli is just being a fucking idiot about Alex she's the one that told Jill alex was distracting the team she had the guts to say that what if alex is lying I left the meeting room quickly before I hurt her" I answered.
"Hmmm I'll take care of that don't worry" said Christen.
"You do know that you can't hurt her right" I said.
"I never said anything about hurting but imma hit up Kelley and Emily anyways I got to get going I have a phone call from alex to prepare for" said Christen as she left me and Sydney alone.
"We aren't going to like what she has planned do we" said Sydney while shaking her head.
"Either way Carli deserves it she shouldn't be talking down about someone suffering from domestic violence as long as she doesn't actually cause Carli harm it would be okay" I explained.
Alex's pov* triggering*
"Okay alex you just have to grab your medicine and leave that's it hopefully he's sleeping or something" I whispered to myself as I walked inside my house. I realized he's been throwing parties because it's extremely dirty and there is alcohol everywhere. I was grabbing my medicine when I felt myself getting thrown backwards by my hair.
"What the fuck are you doing back so early I know for a fact that camp isn't over for another few days" asked Zack.
"I wasn't f-feeling good Jill j-just said I can g-go home early" I whispered silently begging him not too hurt me that bad.
"Fine anyways I have to get going I have work to do and a late party that I'll be up be a good bitch and clean up the house before I get home I haven't forgotten you still are getting punished for the way you've been talking to me while you were at camp don't think I haven't forgotten" said Zack as he kicked my sides a few times and then left.
"Do I grab my medicine and leave or do I stay and clean before he gets here" I asked myself when my phone went off and I checked to see who texted me and it was Ashlyn.

Hey I know you probably won't feel comfortable staying with syds bf so you can stay at mine and Ali's place we don't mind you have the extra key so go ahead but that's if you want we aren't going to force you

Kelly's pov*
"You want us to do what" I exclaimed.
"Oh come on it's not that big of a deal I promise there is no way you are going to get caught" explained Christen.
"But press you are asking us to take her key and switch her shampoo and conditioner and put green hair dye" said Emily.
"I know what I'm asking you too do but come on she deserves it and it's not like Jill is gonna say anything about it please" explained Christen.
"She does have a point do you have the stuff" I asked to make sure we didn't have to go buy it ourselves.
"Of course I do I planned this now if worse comes to worse i don't know but she's currently talking to Abby about who knows what so here's an extra key to her room and her roommate is Amy I made sure Amy wouldn't say anything but she isn't in the room she's with Lauren" explained Christen.
"Well whatever she did too piss you off I'm sure after this she isn't going to want to mess with you" I said.
"Eh it is what it is now I have to get going I have a phone call from alex here soon I don't want to miss it have fun" said press as she handed us the things that we needed and then  left.
"Remind me never to piss her off she's really asking us too put green hair dye in Carli's shampoo" said Emily.
"Yes yes she is now let's go we have to be quick" I said as we walked we went to Carli'a room and switched out her shampoo and conditioner.
"Now that will show her that she needs to stop being a bitch and not think she won't have any consequences" said Christen as we finished.
"Now let's go before we seriously get caught press.
