THE STRANGE TOWN OF SLAUGHTER VALLEY

IT'S JUST THE BEGINNING

"You will make us alive. You will repent coming to this town." I was trapped between dead. I knew it would be my end but someone defended me from those evil creatures. I couldn't recognise him. I was pulled back from that sinister place and I was back in that old,doomy library. I was totally freaked out. I felt confused at what I have seen. Was it real or was I just daydreaming ?

I rushed out of the library. Night was falling. I paced towards home. Suddenly I heard a rustle of bushes not far from me. A dog emerged from behind the bushes along the road, ready to attack me. I had always been afraid of dogs and this one was even more dangerous.

Just at the moment, a stone came flying at the dog. It ran away. A boy came up behind asking if I was okay. He said,"Beware of dogs of this town. They can go to any limits. A few days back, a man was missing and it was found that he had been dragged to the forest by a dog." I was shaken by the sudden appearence of the boy. He asked me if he could accompany me home and I agreed. As we moved ahead, I saw by the moonlight that he was same boy who was staring at me in the morning. He had a serious face. His name was Peter.

We gossiped as we moved on. He seemed to be very friendly. He told me about many good places to visit. It seemed that he had been living in the town from a long time. He was very friendly.

As soon as I reached my house,he asked,"Tomorrow is Halloween. We will be going trick and treating. Would you like to join us ?" I agreed. He gave me his address and left.

I was very delighted. It took me almost a year to make a friend in my school and here I had achieved it on my first day. I was so much excited for halloween that I completely forgot what had happened with me in the library. Little did I know that there was worse to come.

I was very excited the following day and started making preparations in the morning only.
We had decided to go trick and treating at midnight. I dressed up in the costume of DRACULA and saying goodbye to mom I went out.
It was very dark outside. I walked slowly towards Peter's house. The trees alongside the road made sad, eerie sounds. The moon was shining from behind the trees, a night perfect for halloween. I saw some children ‌going trick and treating. Some mischief came to my mind but as I approached them, their innocent faces prevented me. They offered me some sweets and in return I offered them some chocolates.

I proceeded towards our meeting point. A dilapidated house came into view built at some distance away from the rest of the houses. It corresponded to the address given to me by Peter. There was a tall gate at the entrance which opened with a loud creak. The moon hid behind the clouds. Complete darkness fell all around.
I saw something moving in the darkness at some distance from me. It was probably some kind of animal burrowing in the ground. It had not noticed me.
The moon shone from behind the clouds. It's light fell on the creature. It looked up at me and gave a long howl. It was Peter feeding on a dead rabbit. His teeth dripping with blood.
He ran towards me. I tried to run but I stumbled on a stone and fell down. My head throbbed with pain. I could see everything going blur and Peter standing in all four legs over me and then I fell unconscious.
