𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗡𝗘𝗫𝗧 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗣 [𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗷𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀]

𝟬𝟴.

*1 week later*
Because of health complications Quinn was still not allowed to go home and Mercedes was still not allowed to see her or her baby.
Still, Mercedes would sneak into her room and cuddle with her and bring her food.
In the mornings the nurse would find both girls snuggled up together sleeping cutely,  Mercedes cuddled into a ball under the crook of Quinn's arm.
On one morning like this, Mercedes found herself being shaken gently awake by the nurse.
She mumbled and turned away, snuggling into Quinn's warmth again.
"Mercedes...do you want to see the baby?" Nurse Ratched said.
The darker-skinned girl sat up slowly, pushing strands of hair off her forehead.
"Okay, let me wake up Quinn first," she said sleepily.
Nurse Ratched nodded and left to give them some privacy.
"Quinnie, wake up," Mercedes whispered, kissing her.
Quinn was awake but she let Mercedes kiss her a bit longer, pretending to be asleep.
She watched her girlfriend hover over her through half-closed eyes.
Mercedes gave her a few more kisses and saw the blonde girl's eyelids flutter just for a second.
"Quinn, I know you're awake..." she smirked.

Quinn giggled and opened her eyes quickly, pleased with the childish prank she had played on her girlfriend.

"Come on, let's go see the baby," Mercedes told her, getting up and kissing her.

The girls took a shower, got dressed, and went to go see their new baby.

There was a small incubator in the room.

Mercedes moved closer and saw not one, but two babies.

She turned to Quinn with her mouth open, shocked.

"Quinn!" she exclaimed.

"Uhh, surprise?" Quinn said sheepishly.

She had wanted to keep it a secret from Mercedes until she saw the babies.

Quinn giggled and pulled her closer to the incubator.

They were both girl babies.

One of the babies had very light brown skin and the other had Quinn's creamy skin.

Both babies had Mercedes's curly black hair and Quinn's green eyes.

"They're perfect," Mercedes sighed.
