This is a prompt fill for motoughfan. I hope you like it.

The first time he sees her is at the 2014 Kid's Choice Awards. She's standing behind the press line, microphone in hand, huge smile planted on her face. He feels himself get nervous as he and Amy approach her. She introduces herself, but he forgets her name immediately, getting lost in the most gorgeous brown eyes he'd ever seen. The interview is quick, too quick in his opinion, before he and Amy are pulled down the orange carpet. He kicks himself the whole night for not remembering her name or the show she was interviewing for. Too embarrassed to ask Amy, he tries to forget the tiny brunette.

Three months later he sees her again. They're both at the same event that he barely remembers attending. All he remembers from the warm June night is how absolutely stunning she looked in the white body hugging dress and the way her hair blew in the light breeze. He remembers how sweaty his palms were as he made his way across the garden to her, wiping his hand on his pants before extending it to her.

"Hey, we've met before, right?" He asks, flashing her a smile.

"Yeah, the Kid's Choice Awards right?" She reminds him, giving his hand a quick shake. "I'm Bethany."

"Derek." He silently thanks every god known to man for her re-introducing herself.

"I know who you are. I'm a huge fan of Dancing With The Stars." She tells him, blushing a little.

"Aw thank you." He replies making her smile wider, her dimple making him even more infatuated with her. "So, are you like an entertainment host?"

"Uh, sometimes, I guess." She answers, letting out a small, awkward laugh. "I'm mostly a youtube vlogger."

"Forgive me, but what's that? I mean I know what youtube is, but what is a vlogger?" He asks, internally crossing his fingers that she doesn't take offense.

She laughs, shaking her head. "I make videos on youtube about beauty, fashion, and DIY, but I also do other things, like the hosting and I have my own clothing line."

"Oh wow. I've honestly never heard of that before." He admits. "Do you get a lot of views on your videos?"

"Yeah, I've been making videos for about 5 years now and over that time I've gotten over five hundred million views and I now have almost seven million subscribers."

His eyes go wide. He had no idea youtube was such a huge deal. "That's incredible. You must make really good videos."

Bethany laughs again. "I sure hope so."

He talks to her for a few more minutes before he's pulled away, kicking himself again for not getting more information out of her other than her youtube channel. It was enough for him to learn more about her. He googled her the next day learning that she was only 18 and just how successful she actually is. Her description of her job was a little more simple than what he'd read on the internet. She was practically a mini business, fashion, and social media mogul. He was impressed, yet disappointed that she was so young. She seemed so much more mature, but as much as he liked her he couldn't bring himself to contact her again.

The next time he hears her name he's on the phone with a Dancing With The Stars producer.

"Are you ready to find out who your partner is?" John asks making Derek roll his eyes. He loved getting a new partner, but the novelty of the surprise wore off after his fifth or sixth season.

"Yeah, just tell me already." He groans.

"You've probably never heard of her. She's actually a youtube star." John starts and immediately Derek sits up from his former horizontal position on his couch. "Her name is Bethany Mota. She has like seven million subscribers. She's got a huge following, man."

Derek can feel a lump form in his throat as he repeats her name over and over in his mind. "Oh okay. Thanks John. I'm sure it'll be great."

"Don't forget your first rehearsal with Ms. Mota is Monday morning. We'll send you the address to your temporary rehearsal studio." John tells him before hanging up.

He sees her before she sees him. She's sitting in a chair against the wall, phone in hand, scrolling quickly. The producer in the room is just as oblivious as Bethany is, typing away on an iPad. The door closes loudly behind him, making both women look up at him. Bethany grins, revealing her adorable dimple that Derek knew was going to be his weakness. She stands up, walking towards him, meeting in the middle of the dance floor.

"Wow, I was not expecting you." She admits shyly, tucking a lose strand of hair behind her ears.

"I wasn't expecting to hear your name either." He tells her before pulling her into a hug. "I'm glad to have you as my partner though."

"Is that a little premature? I mean for all you know I could be horrible." Bethany jokes, blushing a little.

"That's very true, but at least I know that I like you." He adds immediately regretting that statement. He shouldn't be coming on that strong, especially to an 18 year old. Keep it professional, Derek.

"Yeah, I guess we don't have to worry about that." She agrees, looking up at him. "So, what's our first dance?"

"We have the jive." He sees her eyes go wide. The jive is a very difficult dance for any stage of the competition but week one was going to be difficult. "Don't worry about it, though. We have 12 rehearsals before the live show, so you'll be fine."

"I hope so." She tells him sounding nervous but that beautiful smile never leaves her face.

"Why don't we get to know each other more before we start dancing. Building a friendship is very important in a partnership." Derek says holding out his arm for her to grab on to. "I'll go grab us some coffee and we can chat."

They spend the next hour just chatting about everything and anything. Derek was surprised at how their conversation just flowed, almost never running out of things to talk about. He didn't expect to have so much in common with someone so much younger than him, but he was finding  Bethany is more mature than her 18 years.

"We've been at this for an hour now, we should probably get some dancing in." He suggests with a laugh.

"Yeah, that's probably a good idea." She agrees, smiling up at him, she notices him staring at her. "Do I have something on my face?"

Derek shakes his head, his cheeks tinting red. "No, no. It's just you're dimple is so cute."

Bethany laughs, looking down in her lap, her hair hiding her blush. "Oh gosh. Thank you…I guess."

"Trust me, it's a compliment. Dimples are my kryptonite."

She looks up, a perfectly manicured eyebrow quirked. "Oh really? That is good to know."

He laughs, shaking his head at his dance partner. "I probably shouldn't have told you that."

"No, probably not. I'm glad you did though." She jokes, continuing to make mishevious faces at him. "I promise not use it for evil."

"I doubt that." He quips, standing up, holding a hand out for Bethany. "And I promise not to obsess over said dimple."

"I doubt that." She retorts as Derek leads her to the dance floor.

They both laugh as they stand across from each other. Derek grabs her hands, teaching her a little footwork, but his mind is elsewhere. He can't stop thinking that all of these times they've ran into each other must mean something, especially now that she of all people is his dance partner. Whether or not Bethany is his soulmate is still to be determined, but he decides that he probably shouldn't go against the universe (or his feelings) and take this third chance to find out.

The second part of Figuring It Out should be up later on. I re-read it and realized I wanted to change some things. I have a class in 20 minutes, so it won't be uploaded until later tonight. I thought this could hold y'all over until then. Anyway, I hope you all liked this and I hope you're having a good day.
