This was a prompt sent in by kelciejoanna_. She asked that I write a story about Bethany going to Derek for love advice. I hope this is what you wanted, Kelcie and i hope the rest of you love it as well. Part two should go up this weekend.

"I love you." Bethany's heart stops as those three words echoed in her head. She removes herself from his arms, sitting up straight, turning to face him. His smile falters at her shocked expression.

"I…uh…" She starts, stuttering over her words. She looks down avoiding eye contact, taking in a deep breath, tears brimming her brown eyes.

"Hey, why are you crying?" He reaches out, catching a tear that escaped. "It's okay, Beth. I know it's soon. It's only been 3 months, so it's fine if you don't feel the same yet."

Bethany nods, wiping the few tears that she let fall, regaining her composure. "It's not that I don't care about you, I do. It's just…I've never been in a serious relationship before and I don't know what it feels like to really be in love."

"I understand, I haven't been in too many serious relationships either." The brunet boy adds, rubbing her back comfortingly. "Take all the time you need to figure it out. I just needed you to know how I feel even if you aren't ready to say it yet."

"Corey, I'm so sorry if I made this moment less special for you." Bethany tells him, finally looking into his green eyes. "Like I said I do care a lot about you, but I don't know. I'm just not sure yet."

"It's okay, babe. Really it's fine. I completely understand where you're coming from. This changes nothing for me. If you need space to figure it out, I'll gladly give it to you." Corey presses a kiss to her forehead before standing up off of her couch. "I'll be patient for you."

She stands, following Corey to her front door. He opens the door, turning to face her, smiling before shutting the door behind him. Bethany let's out a breath she didn't realize she was holding before throwing herself on to her couch. She begins to think about Corey and their relationship, tears threatening to fall again.

She remembers the day they met. It was a rare rainy day in Los Angeles and they ended up taking shelter in the same crowded coffee shop. They talked for hours, squished together on the same couch, getting thrown looks of annoyance as they laughed too loud for the other quiet costumers. They talked like they'd known each other for their whole lives and they were soon seeing each other again and then again and then again.

Corey is in short, perfect. He is incredibly smart, pre-med at USC. He's funny, kind, and supportive. He really respects and encourages Bethany. He's everything she could've ever asked for in a boyfriend, but when he said those three words, Bethany realized that she doesn't feel the same yet and that confused her because of how well their relationship had been going and how wonderful he has been. She should love him, right?

She needed to talk to someone. Someone who knows her through and through and  who also knows about what real, true love is. She picks up her phone, finding his number in her contacts and selecting it. It rings a few times before a familiar voice fills her ears, instantly bringing a smile to her face.

"Hey babe!" He answers cheerfully, Bethany can feel the smile through the phone.

"Derek, hey are you busy?" She pulls her bottom lip between her teeth, a nervous tick of hers.

"I'm never too busy for you, what's up?" She can hear him walking until she hears a door shut, blocking out whatever background noise there was.

"So, I need some advice." She starts, feeling a little nervous and embarrassed that she's asking her former dance partner for advice about this. It makes it more difficult remembering all of the jokes he'd made about her inexperience when it came to love.
