— | Error | —

In only a week, everything was better. Much better. According to Nightmare, Toby had arrived at the right time when they easily had him subdued. Ink had been replaced (literally, thank Toby) and, while he wasn't dead, he was put in the deepest, darkest part of the dungeons where he could never hurt anyone else. The new Ink wasn't a pushover, but wasn't a tyrant. He was kind and apologized for the other Ink's actions.

He had ordered that the memory erasing machine be taken apart and thrown away, that the citizens of the Underground be set free and that Error could be put back on the Multiverse Destruction Team. Among other things, he demanded the immediate replacement of two kids that had been killed by the previous Ink.

That was how Error found out that he was looking at his child. Technically Pj wasn't his true child since he had been created because a Pj existed out in the world but Error couldn't deny the feeling of a connection. Their first conversation felt awkward, but it felt right at the same time.

Fatal was now the rightful leader of the Multiverse Destruction Team as he had been before the tyrannical Ink. Even though most thought it was Error, Error was mostly for balance; a way of opposing and helping Ink. Fatal didn't balance anyone and was better for destruction.

Nightmare was still wary, but had found that, since he wasn't truly corrupted, he could go goopy and not-goopy almost at will (when he got angry, he just instantly went goopy). Dream didn't mind at all because he didn't have to see his brother in any sort of pain and Nightmare wasn't suffering anymore.

The biggest thing that happened was the addition of a new Council member. X-Gaster joined the Council once Nightmare told the new Ink what Justice had said. Initially, X-Gaster scared him a bit, but after a few meetings and some talks over lunch or just passing in the halls, he found that X-Gaster, while he could be cold and calculating, was a kind hearted gentleman who supported the new Ink.

Everything was great and Error couldn't imagine how it could get better. He was finally happy again.

— | Dream | —

It had been a slightly stressful week, but it was all worth it. Now that they had a new Ink, he realized how much the previous one had been faking their friendship. It made him mad at himself that it took Nightmare being recalled to open his eyes, but that was in the past.

Nightmare was doing great! Now that he didn't have a collar and everything having to do with erasing people's minds was gone, he was finally getting sleep. Despite having eaten a black apple, Nightmare was definitely still his brother and was only ever goopy if he was truly pissed (this had only happened once so far and it was because of a few districts trying to put a new collar on him).

Also, he was a father apparently. When Palette was sent back, Ink had told him to go to Dream's office. Palette was definitely partially his kid with his star-shaped eye lights and positive attitude. He knew that Ink was the other parent thanks to other multiverses (also the name and the fact that he acted like he had eaten 100 packets of smile dip). Dream couldn't deny that he didn't have a parental feeling for the kid and definitely couldn't lie about how he now wanted to buy one of the houses in the Outcode District so that Palette would have a proper home. That was a talk to have with Nightmare first though.

Dream didn't mind X-Gaster at all. Since the battle and having kept true to the promise of stopping the Center army (all he had to do was shoot a magic filled arrow into the sky and he had everyone's attention), him and X-Gaster had respect for each other and he didn't mind being sat next to him.

The assistants were all definitely happy with the changes, especially Heaventale Frisk. Apparently she had been directly hired by Ink to be Nightmare's assistant and Nightmare had no say on the matter unlike everyone else who chose their assistants. Killer was now Nightmare's assistant and he enjoyed working in an environment where he wasn't scaring or killing people.
