Chapter 5: The Corrupted Empire

Y/N'S POV

A whole year have passed.....

Since I left Tatsumi, Ieyasu and....... Sayo......

I wonder that they're doing now? No doubt they're training hard.....

I was now 12 years old but almost 13, as usual I still continue to do Assassination work.

Not too long I made it to the Empire in 2 weeks when I left their village, it took me all that time since I always get attack by Bandits and Danger Beasts.

I went to the forest filled with Danger Beast near the Empire and stayed there for a week to make a base since I don't want living in the Empire, seeing I got this warnings from travelers on my way there.

To say I was disgusted was an understatement. When I went to one of the cities in the Empire, not before leaving some of my weapons in my base. I only brought Misera and Twilights with me since I don't wanna take the risk of getting attack or being robbed which is practically the same thing.

When I got there, it was horrible some of the people were leaving in the streets, looking starve and some acted casually without paying attention to any of them. The Empire was so large, a kingdom that has many districts that I've ever known....

The Negativity...

I'm sensing a lot of negativity in the air, there was a lot and I only entered the place! And this is only one district of the Empire!!

I did some information digging around and all of them were useful but not what I expected. The Emperor was nothing but a child!

A naive child that's being manipulated by the Prime Minister since most of the Government here is being run by him.

Everyone in the Empire knows that the Emperor was being manipulated but none of them does a thing.

They're afraid, I can sense it. All of them. Fear, sadness and despair. All of them, I can feel it. The only ones not feeling this sort of emotions are the ones filled with corrupted energy. This place makes me sick.

I would very much like to end this all, by killing the root of it all.

The Prime Minister.

I must kill him, but, it proves to be very difficult seeing there's a lot of guards in their castle since I did a recon mission there, not to mention in what kind of fighters they have. Since I still remember the blonde hair man Master fought before. He was from the Empire and I can't take the risk of getting myself killed yet.

Sigh... this is harder than I thought it would be.

So I'll start in small steps. Doing assassination work. I must kill the corrupted, that's my mission, whether it be Man, woman or child. As long as their filled with negative energy and harms others, I will give them no mercy.

I started out by scouting the entire Empire, this place. It's horrible, I saw slaves getting killed, women getting kidnapped and raped. Children being sold. It sickens me!

Yet the Emperor does not see it! This.... This place.. Such cruelty!

I made sure to kill those Slave Merchants along with those so called Noble's kidnapping people especially women.

I moved silently in the night, luring them in with my illusions, killing them all with one shot, burning their corpses into ashes using my blue Flames and because of that, it made my work easier.

And news of my assassination spread around the Empire, I don't know how but the people here are quite smart deducting that when someone disappears without knowing anything, they could only be killed. I'm just gonna guess that assassination work here are pretty common.
