Quarantined with the Mysterious Guy

It was a pleasent Friday afternoon. I was making final changes to my robot. The race was about to start in 10 minutes. I had Matt and Cami here to support me. The rest were in detention. Don't even ask me why.

"I can't believe they got caught and I didn't." Cami laughed and Matt joined him.

"Exactly. How can they be so stupid?"

During our history class, Cami opened her packet of lays and started munching in the class. Since they had the masks on, no one can tell. Ashely and Stacy asked for some and Cami passed them the packet after taking some. Luke noticed it and asked for same. That's when the teacher turned around unexpectedly. The scene was frozen. Stacy had a handful of chips almost reaching her mouth. Ashely was chewing and passing the packet and Luke was holding it from the other end.

"That's what I thought! I smelled something chippy!" Cami mimicked the high pitched pointy voice of old Mrs. Davis.

We all laughed at that.

"Okay class listen." We all looked at our teacher. "Line up your robots, and I will tell the twist in race." We all lined up and the track that he made was amazing. It had some bumps and dent in the path, then a track the went high and straight down in a pool of water to test it's waterproof quality.

"Now the catch in this robot car race is that....." he made a dramatic pause,"your car will go in the reverse gear."

"Boooo!" The entire robot club protested.

"See, I know all of you have the car that going front and back, just the direction controls are opposite. Lets test that ability. Now, ready when you are."

I sat there with a disappointed feeling. I never rode the car backwards. "Come on Josieeeee Josie!" Cami cheered with her pom poms. She borrowed them from Ashely and Stacy. Matt cheered me too but didn't shake the pom poms.

"Ok ready drivers?" He had his whistle in his mouth ready.

I took my remote control and was ready.

"3....2....1....Go!" And cheer boomed across. The whole school didn't bother to come because it's the nerd club and our friends came so there were about 10-15 people to cheer.

My car ran through the path and bumps. It wasn't that fast because reverse is slower than forward. Forward has gears so it makes it faster. Plus the aerodynamic design from front is an extra factor. All cars were going fine. Some ahead, some behind. Cars rushed towards the water pool. I kept my hands firm on the control and increased the speed in the pool so that it tears through the water and avoids going in and win!!!! Though I came second but yay I cleared it.

"Woah Josie it was amazing!" Matt came running to me.

"Josie! Josie! Winner nerdy!" Cami came cheering and I gave her a hug.

Soon we winded up everything. There were only 3-4 cars that didn't make it to the final so we'll figure out on Tuesday what things NOT to do while making a robot car.

"Hey Josie, I'll pick up Zach today from work. We're having a sleepover. So do one thing, load Avengers movies and we'll have fun." Matt quickly told me and rushed back to his car.

"Okay!" I twisted on my heels to sit in the car. It's gonna be a long night.

I reached home and I didn't feel like sleeping. I was happy that my robot made it so I just did some homework while I had the time and after dinner I spent some time reading John Green books. I love his tales. He writes thing that actually happen in real life, not cheesy but worth it!

I saw Matt's car pull up in our drive way and I decided to clean the mess in my room. I arranged the laptop and walked down to greet Matt. Zach was in the shower so why not give him company.
