Alise decided to make the most of Diego's absence in the end, by taking the opportunity to go lie back in the bed and rest her weary body, to try and get some proper sleep after her rough night of trying to make a bed out of the uncomfortable chairs. It was either that, or drive herself crazy, raging at Diego for the rest of the morning, and she didn't want to waste her energy on that.
So, when Diego returned a few hours later, he found her sound asleep, and the remains of his breakfast and the plate still lay on the floor by the door, so he ended up standing in bits of burnt pancake, he kicked the tin plate across the room in frustration, the noise of it clashing with the iron stove, started Alise into opening her eyes. And she noticed him standing glowering at her.
She turned in the bed so her back was to him, just as he had done to her the night before intending to ignore him.
But Diego wasn't going to let her off so lightly, and after a few moments, he strode across the room to grab her, and roughly pull her out of the bed.
"I didn't bring you hear to sleep the day away, perhaps if you were not so stubborn and pig-headed, you would learn it would be far easier for you to share the bed with me all night, than trying to sleep in a chair" he reminded her "So don't expect me to have any sympathy for your lack of sleep, or make it easy on you; you only have yourself to blame"
"And what makes you think I would sleep, any better sharing a bed with you all night when, it's my idea of a nightmare?" she shot back scathingly, pulling away from his grip.
"We will see," Diego returned with a slight sneer, "Go ahead then, sleep in the chair if that is what you want, I will not force you to share the bed with me," he now took a step closer to her, invading her personal space, so she could feel the heat from his body, even though they were not touching as he spoke the next words in a softer deliberate tone that still had an edge to it, "Because I know that in the end, I won't have to, you will come to me willingly, perhaps not tonight, or the night after, but it will happen, when you finally realise you are wasting your energy fighting against me, and accept your place, and only then will you to return home, so for your sake, I hope it happens sooner rather than later" he finished meaningfully, his finger, reaching up to lightly caress her cheek, but she just jerked her face away from his touch.
Then he abruptly turned and walked away, as if he had become bored with their exchange leaving her standing trembling with a mixture of emotions, whilst trying to not let his ominous words get to her, so that she would not end up breaking down and crying helplessly in front of him. She would not give him the pleasure
Alise went about cleaning up the mess she had made on the floor from earlier that morning, just because it gave her something to focus on. Diego had gone back outside and was making a camp fire in the clearing near the shack, with the intention of roasting whatever animal he had caught, over it. She was glad his stomach and his desire for food was keeping him occupied, and that he was leaving her alone.
She managed to wash herself down a little, with the leftover water in the bucket, then went about trying to address her unruly hair with a comb belonging to Diego, which had some missing teeth in it, by the time she had finished it had lost a few more, and she didn't feel her hair looked any better
Then she started wondering wearily, why she was even bothering to try and make her appearance look decent, when there was no one around to see her any way, except for Diego, and she didn't care about his opinion or wanted to make any particular effort for him. But then she realised she had to do it for herself, to acknowledge who she was the daughter of Felipe Olivarez, something she refused to let Diego take away from her.

Diego kept his word later that evening, and made no attempt to come near Alise when she set the chairs up in a way so she could use them to settle down for the night, even though she knew it wasn't going to be very comfortable, her stomach was also a little fuller, though she baulked at having to accept share of the food Diego had roasted over the spit, she wasn't going to starve either.
