"You are welcome to come back here anytime." The king tells me as he shakes my hand.

My three days here in the vampire territory are already up. I smile at him and hope that he really doesn't hold a grudge against me since I had just told him yesterday that his family was dead.

Edna takes a hold of my other hand and squeezes it, "from what you've told us, this seems like a situation that is bigger than you all. Please don't hesitate to ask of help from us."

"There is a high probability that a vengeful human is wandering somewhere out there hoping to cause harm to us so I suggest that we stick together." The king tells me releasing his hold on my hand and takes a step back, "Whatever you need, an army or a place to stay—anything at all, we will gladly help you."

"Thank you for my daughter. I know she's in a better place. Send our gratitude to your king." Edna finally says and steps back too, allowing me to climb aboard the train.

I sit by the window seat in hopes that the beautiful snow covered landscape can improve my mood but it doesn't. My mind still goes back to the events of yesterday. Maybe if they had asked for help sooner, all of these wouldn't have happened. I feel disappointed in my powers and lack of ability, maybe if it were Dakota, she would have done something. She might've saved that little girl.

I remember the look that Edna gave me, grief and heartbreak hidden behind a mask of smiles and gratefulness. I do not know the heart of a grieving mother and hope that I never do. I can't imagine how I would feel if something terrible happens to either Javier or my little one.

Sebastian notices my distress and squeezes my hand in reassurance, "are you okay odetta?"

"I don't really know." I sigh.

I need Casper. I need to cry in the arms of my mate and have his warmth and comfort surround me. I press my head against the glass letting the cool surface comfort me in the meantime.

Sleeping yesterday night after breaking the terrible news to the royal family was hard and I stayed up all night tossing and turning. I try not to sleep during the train ride incase I speak to the man in my dreams but it consumes me immediately.

The next time I open my eyes, I see the green landscapes of the werewolf capital through the window and feel the train slowly coming to a stop . When the train comes to a complete stop, I look out the window to see Victor standing beside a car.

I frown in disappointment. I was hoping to see Casper.

Victor immediately starts walking towards Sebastian and I as we step out from the train. I notice the look of panic on his face.

"Victor is everything al—"

"We need to go now, we need to hurry up." He starts rushing me to the car.

I'm getting uneasy, "what do you mean victor?"

"No time to explain. The kids—I don't—you need to hurry up now."

My heart stops for a split moment, "Is Javier okay?", I frantically ask as Sebastian and I getting into the car. The look he gives me already tells me all the answer I need to know.

He gets into the driver's seat and immediately starts driving. His driving is reckless and fast and if I wasn't already preoccupied with thoughts on Javier, I would have been fearing for my life.
