I spewed out more curse words as I scrolled through the articles. Alexander Harrington was nowhere to be found, and I had a meeting with him today. His wife, Eva Wu, a gorgeous woman but suspicious, had her face printed on every article I found. I suspected he was dead. There were barely any reports on the situation, which I guessed was reasonable because the information was most likely leaked. Yeah, he's definitely dead somewhere.
Harrington and I were planning on starting a new venture. It was slightly serious, and it was something that could strengthen our business relationship. I could always speak to Elijah since Harrington is gone, but it would've been nice if I could be able to speak to Harrington... before he was murdered, of course. I would also prefer to launch the new app before he died as well, just because things would've run smoother.
Very unfortunate for me.
His wife was attractive. She looked ambitious and determined—so ambitious that she looked as if she would kill her husband and take over his empire. I scrolled to find more photos of her. All were paparazzi shoots. Her social media wasn't accessible. Of course. There was one photo that caught my eye. It held an alluring image of her with striking black hair matching the tight black dress with red ribbons as the arm straps, and black high heels. Her face was solemn, and her lips were red. She was beautiful. She looked as if she had walked out of a 1950s film. Something inside of me tingled—warming up my insides and my groin. I must be attracted to her. I would be more if she didn't have to murder the man I needed.
Eva Harrington. I had a little crush on her a couple of years ago. When I first saw her, I knew I had to make her mine, but Harrington was quite fond of her, although having those little affairs didn't seem like he truly loved her. It was hard to keep my mouth shut. I even attempted to send an e-mail, letting her know her husband was a tool, but the e-mail didn't get to her. I wouldn't be surprised if he accessed her information and deleted it. Realistically, it ended up in junk mail. I used an anonymous email. And if Harring ever found out, he wouldn't say anything to me, either. I had the upper hand.
It doesn't matter now because I hate her.
I planned to join one of the major meetings I had to attend today—that Harrington was supposed to be hosting. Although I do enjoy a smart woman, I'd despise if I catered to her. I was sure their marriage wasn't bumpy. There was a photo of them together, and they looked happy. I could tell she loved him, and I could tell he loved her, ignoring the fact that he was unfaithful. Considering the scenario of him cheating, I highly doubt he really did love her. Yes, Eva loved him, but she had a motive to kill. Who else would kill Harrington? He didn't have many enemies—not that I know of, at least. My plan was simple, but with the proper execution, I could have her expose her true self. I didn't necessarily care if she did it or not. I just needed a confession from her. When I first heard of his disappearance, I was fuming. I didn't care how beautiful this woman was, I always get what I want.
My suspicions led to the belief that she killed Harrington. There was no way they couldn't find any traces of him. Either she killed him and hid his body well, or the police on the case were entirely incompetent. Whichever it was, I was going to find out. It's not that I cared too much about his death, per se. It was more of her ruining our business plans. I needed Harrington, as much as I dislike to say it.
"Mr. Kim, we're here," Ale, my driver said, looking at me through the mirror.
The building was large—similar in style to any corporation. I was greeted immediately and made my way up the elevator. No sign of Eva, unfortunately. I wasn't meant to attend anyway, Harrington's second man said it was pointless because Harrington wasn't here. We had a discussion meant to happen after, but due to the wife, it had to be cancelled. Eva Harrington, or now, Eva Wu.
