Living Between Lines

Part four: Hiding

Blue flames tore into the night sky engulfing the building. Blood flew through the air the more I let my quirk roam free.
"Over here!" Toga yelled as she feneded herself from a group of men. I started to run towards her. She threw a breef case at me.
"Kill him!" Toga yelled as she struggled to free herself from a choke hold. I raised my hand and pointed it towards the guys head. I have to do this. I felt my quirk course though my veins. A huge explosion rocked through the air. Large wall like flames came rushing towards me pushing me into a building. The pain rippled through my back knocking every inch of my breath out of my lungs. The world around me turned into a hasty grey that slowly fell into blackness.

"Wake up dude," Dabi said.
"Don't call me dude," I said rubbing my eyes.
"Sorry, I meant gal. Listen I need you to go to your house and act like you went to the library or something. Your homeroom teacher is dropping off your stuff there and I need you to act like it was a normal day or something do not raise any suspicions," Dabi said, handing me my hoodie and pushing me out the car.
"Cool I'll see you tomorrow afternoon," I said.
"Yup just please don't turn into any of those weird heros. As your brother I'm counting on you that you won't betray us," Dabi said.
"Why would I ever do that? You guys are the only family I have. I will never betray you guy," I said.
Dabi slammed the driver door and waved me goodbye before saying, "Have a nice first day of school kiddo."
I limped towards the apartment that I would be living in for the next six or so months. I saw a sad looking guy in all black and a face I could recognize anywhere.
"All Might?" I asked staring at him from above.
"Ah hello! You must be Millie Youo!" All Might said in a deep heroic voice.
"Yup that's me!" I said. My last name is Youo? That's so weird why would anyone ever give someone such a dumb last name.
"Eraser head and I wanted to formally welcome you to UA since you where not able to be their during the orientation," he said.
"We expect great things from you. With a power like yours you'll be able to bring anyone down; but it will take a lot of hard practice and concentration; and I hope we can trust you with these things," Eraser-head said.
I nodded my head trying to suppress the wave of nausea from crashing into a building not even an hour ago.
"Yup! I will think you so much!" I said grabbing the bag and closing the door behind me. I sunk into the hardwood floor holding my chest. There has to be some kind of internal bleeding. I held my chest hopping the pain would slowly dwell away.
The phone rang. I walked in pain towards the couch and picked it up.
"Oh. My. Gosh. Dude you won't believe what just happened to me. I was literally walking around trying to find my grandma's house when a whole building lit up in blue flames! I literally had no idea what to do and this teenage girl who I think might have been Toga was passed out on the ground! I called the police and came towards the body, but you'll never guess what happened. the famous villain Dabi threatened to kill me if I came any closer! At this point I was shocked and ran away but you'll never guess what I saw on Toga's neck. It was your neckless! She must have been the person that stole it from you all those years ago! I swear if I see her again I will take it from her!" Mina yelled into the phone. I sat on the coach with the jaw wide open.
When I was in middle school, Toga and Dabi were in my house eating some food. They forgot that I was bring people over, and I panicked when Mina and Kirishima saw two villains eating food in my apartment. So Toga made a big scene and took all of my money and ran out the door. I tried the chase after them to convince her it was for real. After they left, I told Toga to get a repica if my necklace so people won't get suspicious of my story and after I gave it to her, she didn't take it off.
"Wow that's crazy. I had no idea she would still be wearing it. I would assume she would sell it," I said in a shocked tone of voice.
"I know! But it's okay. When I become a hero, I'll capture her and get the necklace back!" Mina said in a confident voice. "Anyways, I'll see you tomorrow for our first day of school!" She said hanging up the phone. Yup my first day of school was tomorrow, and I definitely was not ready.
