Episode 25

(Gryffin's pov)

Last night I took the dagger and cleaned it up placing it in my pocket. Obviously I shouldn't have done that, for thats tampering with evidence. But I needed to get this to the capitol with y/n. This morning as I'm looking at the dagger and the handle seemed to have a carved in language or a scripture I couldn't decifer myself, either way it didn't seem like any other normal thing to be written on a dagger. On our daggers, we write scriptures of the endo written on the handles. But I can't read these at all.
The door opened and I see y/n coming out, looking nice.
"Are we going to the capitol?" I asked her which she nodded and we go out together to the carriage, heading for the capitol.
As always everyone is already there sitting at the round table. In their exact spots. But jene and other endos were present at this table. I stood behind y/n's seat as we waited to hear news before we gave ours. Y/n already knew about the dagger, I told her earlier this morning about the writing on the handle.
"We've conducted more investigations mainly in the womenly run kindoms.
Skyfall
And randal seem to be in the clear of safe kingdoms." I made eye contact with helga, she smiled softly with reassurance to her eyes.
"Zayla...I'm not sure about you." Ryoo looked at her which she had a worried look in her eyes. "Why?" She asked with an urgent tone to her voice, making everyone at the table uneasy. "The fact you brought soldiers to zemora is suspicious to me." Ryoo said with narrowed eyes, then turned to rayana. "Your kingdom is sort of clear. Skyfall has some...not so friendly laws to it." Rayana worriedly looked at the emperor but she only nodded her head.
"Is there more proof that zayla could be the tyrant?" Helga asked the emperor. "We're doing a comparison of handwriting of the letter that was composed when the two knights were sent to assassinate the queen. I could say that it's rather similar to zayla's handwriting and surprisingly close to helga's. But it's a bit messier as intended of us to believe it could be anyone." Ryoo pulled out the note that was sent with one of the knights that was saying to kill her, if they didn't they would be killed. Side by side comparisons were shown and zayla's seemed go be a cursive type of handwriting. We all looked at them both and I could seem little similarities though. But he also showed helga's handwriting. Though hers didn't seem to match up either. Both writings don't seem too far off but there are flaws to them both when I came to the composed letter.
"There are some flaws but I will not point fingers." I say as i give the letter back. "That's understandable." Ryoo hummed as he took the papers and placed them to the side. "I will now call to jene to speak on her information to us." Ryoo sat down as jene then stood up from her seat. "We've continued the interrogation with the two men and we have new information..." she says as she looked at everyone. "No direct though. They told us the organization that they work for is a power hungry group. They are scattered through out the empire. It's apparently very big with many leaders running the organization." Jene spoke as she then met eyes with me with a cold look. "I have a guess but I will not say it yet. Also that the woman is very well hidden. The woman in power." Jene says as she looked at the suspected women, sitting back down as ryoo stands back up. "Thank you jene. Keep up the interrogation. Y/n, gryffin, is there something you want to add?" Ryoo asked us both. I just let y/n take over before I added on. "An assassination attempt was made last night." Y/n said, disrupting the peace, making the people around the going table gasp with shock. "She stabbed the assassin before I came in the room." I added on, stepping forward with a dagger out in my hand. "They had this dagger with some sort of writing I could read on the handle. If any of you could read this, please speak up." I say as I set it gently down on the table, standing back and watching them look at the dagger with written words on the handle.
Jene picked it up and looked at it closely. "Theres some on the blade as well." She said, pointing out some of the language written on the blade itself. She passed it around the table until it landed in ryoo's hands.
"This is odd...it might be important. Is there anyone in this room that can somehow decode this?" He asked them, looking around the table. "I could take it with me to see if some of my people can read it's language." Jene spoke up, looking at the man. He seemed to agree, giving her the blade and she handed it to the endo that stood behind her. "Gryffin, if she stabbed the assassin before you were there, how long did it take for you to respond to the light?" Jene asked with a raised brow, making me gulp. "Longer then it should have ma'am..." I responded, my voice cracked a bit when I said this and she scoffed. "And why is that?" She snapped making the whole table tense up when she spoke. "I'm...I'm not sure. I just...didn't have the feeling..." jene's gaze softened and unclenched her fists. "Please meditate. Keep close with the light. Come to the temple if you have to." She softly spoke and I nodded, looking down at my feet. I have been meditating, it just seems like the light is even more distant then when it once was. I just don't understand what is going on with that. I don't know how to keep close with the light other then meditating.
"While jene takes the dagger to decode the writing, does anyone else have any other type of evidence they would like to share?" Ryoo asked the round table, looking at each individual closely with narrowed eyes. "Nothing we know of sir. We will keep our eyes and ears open." Helga stated and glanced at me. She had her eye on me the entire meeting that we were here. I wonder why. She even had eyes on jene rather closely. "Gryffin may i speak with you?" Jene asked which I nodded and y/n waved me off to go talk with ryoo. I went off alone with jene in another room.
"What is it?" I asked seriously.
"Keep your eyes on helga. She's had her attention to you and me this entire meeting." Jene growled, folding her arms as she coldly stared. "Shall I let emperor ryoo know?" I asked her. She hummed, scratching her chin.
"Not yet, I do not want to interfere more then we already have." She replied which made me angrily look at her, annoyed with her. "We are apart of it by protecting the queen." Jene gave me a look of warning, walking closer to me getting right in my face. "I gave you orders." Jene said with a low growl. "I have a bad feeling about that woman...we will tell him when the time is-" jene cut herself off when we heard footsteps come from the door as if they were walking away. We quickly opened the door and saw no one, causing jene to curse under her breath. "Keep the light close. Come to the temple soon." I nodded and we both walked back out to see y/n and ryoo talking. I stood beside her, waiting for their conversation to be done. I glanced over to see helga speaking with king George and zayla. Her eyes wondered to me and she smiled gently. I don't believe it could be her, but keep you enemies close.
The woman then walked over to me and stared up at me.
"How are you doing gryffin?" She asked kindly with a smile. "I'm doing well, how are you queen helga?" I asked her with a raised brow and she shrugged. "Stressful times. I'm deeply worried for y/n's safety. They seem to be persistant." She said with a worried look on her face. "I won't let anyone lay a finger on her." I tell her confidently. Something about this didn't feel right. I stared deeply into the older womans eyes as she stared into mine. "I hope do. I have high expectations for you endo. Take care." Helga walked away and out of the capitol. I looked around the room to see jene staring intensely at me and then y/n tapped my shoulder. "Ready?" I nodded and we both walked out to our carriage, going straight home.
