Unanswered Emotions

What now?

Ishita and Raman walked out of the judge's office only to witness the ruckus their family had been creating. Ishita was exasperated with this daily drama going on between two families. for the nth time she wished how good it would be if they behaved like other families no shouting and mess. but she knew their family isn't like that. Raman tries to intervene to ask them be silent. but he couldn't. for its years he talked to their combined family and now he felt at loss of words. Ishita walked out of the portico making the door shut behind her loudly. then the heads turned towards the sound and the person storming away. Madhavi Iyyer was about to start her firing against Raman for she thought he insulted her daughter again. Raman followed Ishita asking his father to accompany everyone to their house and they had an important matter to talk.

by the time everyone reached house, Ishita was in her in-laws house sitting on the sofa. Iyyers hesitated entering in to that house neither liked seeing her there. But when Ishita gestured them in, they went inside and stood to a side.

Mummyji hurriedly sat beside Ishita and asked worriedly, "what happened puttar? what did that judge say? will Ruhi come to us?" Ishita took a deep breath and started her long speech which she was preparing. " Ruhi had gone through a lot. we all know that. but only she can know how she felt during those years. here we all sat blaming each other and ourselves for what happened to her and we are forgetting what she need now." she glanced at Raman for a brief moment and continued. "I know we are at a point where we cannot tolerate to see each other. i don't want us to act neither to give good atmosphere to Ruhi. All I ask is we, have to give her a feeling of home. that nearness and love. its okay if Iyyers and Bhallas do not talk to each other. but just don't fight. its not just about Ruhi. there are Pihu and ananya in the houses and Kshitija and Shravu there. What would they learn from us. I dont want the next generation to commit the same mistakes. So i beg you to stop fighting." she stopped and looked around her. her amma and mummyji hung their heads. Appa and papaji looked like to be in deep thoughts. Raman had this indestructible expression which she could not read.

she took a breath and continued " I know I did a mistake then. I have my share of wrongs. but now its not time to think about the past and forget about Ruhi's future. Ruhi is coming here for 30 days. a very little time for her to come out of these tortuous 7 years and deepest  misunderstandings. but we have to do everything in here because we cant let her go with Nidhi. We shall be ourselves the loving and caring families who always ran behind their kids to give them the best love and care. please lets put aside all the bitter part for 30 days." with that she stood up and asked Raman, " Raman, if you don't mind, can we talk in private for two minutes." Raman who was listening to what all she said was just in a daze when he nodded and got up to move into the adjoining room. Ishita closed the door and turned towards him. " Raman I know you don't like me to hang around here. and believe me, neither can I. My hurt is also deep and no where near soothing. but what we have here is our Ruhi's happiness. You may say that she is not my daughter and only yours', believe me I'm not buying into that now. she had always been my daughter and will be. i want us to behave in a civil way. She doesn't need to see all the rudeness between us and your anger. You have already seen her in court and I saw her there as your daughter the angriness, the way she talked, she behaved in the same way you do. but she had her reasons. and I don't want her to copy her papa any further in anger issues. we all know, specially me what and all how you behave. we lived till now in the way we liked. but now we have to think about our impact on children. so please, these 30 days and even after that for children we should not let them see our ugly quarrels. Ruhi is coming here to her parents and I would stay here. you may think in any way you could but i will be here and i don't share a room with you for e both know how suffocating it will be for both of us." she opened the door and went out after receiving a nod from Raman. to be frank, she did not expect that the conversation would be peaceful. she is bit taken back for Raman not shouting and intervening her while she was talking. any way she said what she wanted and she is hope full that what all she said would make a little impact on both the parties. In hall she saw mummyji in kitchen and pappaji reading news paper. but she didn't feel neither of them are doing what they are doing. She smiled towards them and went into her apartment glancing into the Iyyer house. but the hall way was empty and she did not have strength to think about it any further.

She slumped in to the sofa in her apartment. she want back in time. when judge said Ruhi needed a homely environment, she wondered did she had that anytime in her life? she became mother to Ruhi. Both loved each other so much but that 2 years were very small to give Ruhi the security she needed. Even then the court dramas, she keeping Shagun in Bhalla house, the act of death and all. how much did Ruhi went through. she felt ashamed for being very insensitive towards her child. And Adi and Pihu, there too she did an unforgivable mistake leaving them. Coming to Pihu, she really felt thankful to Shagun for taking care of her.

Shagun and Manoj are married and living in Delhi only for Pihu. Manoj felt its his mistake to go for surrogacy without the consent of Ishita and as a doctor he felt he did not do it right. so he wanted to be there for Pihu in case she felt bad for loosing her mother in accident. that's what Raman said to Pihu. Ishita and Ruhi died in an accident. Pihu knows Shagun and Manoj as Ishita's friends and is close to them. she even loves the Iyyers and Bala and Vandita. she knows her mother's side entire family but do not understand why her both grandparents don't talk to each other. Shagun is now working as PR consultant in a modeling company and had become very much focus in her work once she got to know the satisfaction of her own money and reputation for her work. She loves Pihu and Pihu calls her Shagun mumma as Adi calls her that. Adi said, as Shagun is very close to Ishita he calls her that.

the day Ishita returned, Pihu just came from school and saw her mother there and her father shouting at her and setting fire to her clothes. she did not know what to do. she is happy that her mother did not die but also didn't know how to react. when Ishita saw Pihu, even she was bombarded with number of emotions and she was rooted to the spot. Immense love for her daughter, enormous guilt for leaving and being unfair to her and the question, does she even have the right to call her, her daughter. thankfully Raman walked up to Pihu, lifted her and went into the house. from then, she did not know what happened and never seen Pihu.
