She stood in the lounge, that the film studio had reserved at the airport, with a bunch of other people, waiting for the plane that would bring her sisters back to her. By the looks of it, she was not the only one there who was a nervous wreck.
There were both young and old people there, she figured parents, siblings, and spouses alike, equally nervous and eagerly anticipating the return of their loved one.
Solar had felt something was wrong long before the courier had come to her office with the message from Pilar.
The three of them had always been able to sense when one of them was in trouble, and she had gotten that feeling one early evening and again some days later. She could not explain it or talk with anybody about it. It was just a feeling, and she had not been able to shake it.
She had tried calling both Pilar and Skylar but had gotten voicemail every time. That in itself had not worried her much. It was always like that, when they were out on set, but when they did not return her calls, she got worried.
She had felt something was off and had called Sylvester Blach, Strixe's manager, as well as the studio. At that point, none of them had heard anything either, and that was when she had started to panic.
It had affected her work which had made her anxious since she was a newly appointed partner in the firm she worked for. The other partners had assured her, that she had nothing to worry about regarding her job, they gave her time off when she needed it and accepted her need to be on call night and day if any news came of her sisters.
It had been in the middle of a meeting, when the courier had handed her the message from Pilar. She had excused herself and run to her office. The note had not said much only that they had been attacked, they were both alive and safe for the time being, but Skylar was hurt.
There had been no contact information or elaboration on Skylar's condition. All she had to rely on was that sixth sense of her sisters which told her that none of them were in immediate danger.
The wait had been enervating.
The days had passed with no word.
There had been no media coverage from Europe about anything involving the film crew, so she had figured that not many knew about whatever had happened.
Finally, she had gotten another message saying that they would return but no information. Frantically, she had called the studio and been informed about the time and date for their arrival. She had inquired about Skylar's condition, but they had no news for her.
"Excuse me everybody." An airport official had come into the lounge and tried to get people's attention by waving her arms. "I can inform you that the plane has landed, and they will be guided here as soon as possible. Please remain calm, the wait is almost over."
The room started buzzing.
Solar could see the excitement on people's faces, and in that moment, she wished she had somebody to lean on while waiting. But like her sisters, single life was what she had chosen. They had not had the best role model in relationships in their father and that had formed them into the different personalities they now clung to.
Pilar was quiet and hid behind her camera watching the world through a lens but rarely taking part in it.
Skylar lived the dynamic fast lane life of movies and money, and she seemed to thrive there.
Solar herself had chosen, like Skylar, to be career driven but in a field none of the others walked in.
Boyfriends and husbands had never been part of the equation for any of them.
