Another day, another patrol.
Countless people filled the area around the well known hero. Now, this wasn't out of the ordinary. It was quite normal for pedestrians to notice him and before he knew it..
     There was a crowd.
     "Can I have an autograph?"
"Of course, who am I making it out to?"
     "Can we take a picture?"
     "Cheese"
     "Can you sign my bag!?"
This was usually a normal patrol day for the number 2 hero. He casually signed said bag and continued to please his fans. Of course, he had to do this for his reputation as a hero. He loved seeing them but, sometimes it was quite overwhelming. All he ever really did was work, work, work and...... more work.
He had a casual smile on and if anyone looked at him, they wouldn't notice his real feelings behind the facade he was trying so hard to uphold. Although, he wasn't going to give up on his dream. No. He was NEVER going to do something like that no matter how tired it got him. He was going to keep trying until his last breath.
More crowds started to gather around his frame and he had plenty of time to listen to their needs or simply telling him how much they were thankful for his duties as the Number 2 but, something had caught his eye.
A lone purple flower petal that fell softly down in the distance. He didn't know why or how something as simple as that even mattered to him but, in some way, it was almost as if it was calling out to him. His eyes slowly followed it until it was out of sight.
He had no idea why seeing that one petal left a sick feeling in the pit of his stomach. Almost as if it was indicating something bad was about to happen but, he didn't know what or how big it truly was.
He kept his smile up to make sure not to disturb the audience around himself. He had to make it out of there casually without causing any disturbance to the people.
"I'm sorry everyone, but duty calls. I need to get on with my patrols." He was answered with a series of aww's and nods of understanding. With that, he quickly slipped out of the crowd into an almost empty street where the petal had come from.
He looked into the direction it had come from and right before his eyes a lot more of them flew past his face. This time it was quite noticable what flower petals they were.
     Purple Hyacinths
The flower that represented sadness and sorrow. He had heard of them once before but the name had embedded itself in his mind due to the flowers meaning. A meaning that him himself felt deep inside.
An intern of his had told him about it once before. A bird just like himself but more.. bird like than he was. Although, he was missing an important factor... when you think of bird's, you think of wings, right?
That's not the topic we're on now, is it?
Long story, short. He was telling him about one mission he had. The boy had committed suicide and the flowers he had on his note were the exact same as the petals that swayed in the wind, past Hawks. It was a sad story and one he would never forget.
As he looked at them at a closer range, he had noticed some were tainted in crimson liquid.
     Blood.
As the flowers cleared in the hero's line of vision and his eyes now had a clear view. That's when he saw her.
A lone figure on top of a tall building not too far from himself. They seem to be looking down but, he was sure that was the location the sadden petals had came from. Without a second thought, he flew pretty fast through the other buildings. He circled around hers though and before he knew it. He was behind her gently lowering himself quietly on top of the structure. It was obvious that she did not notice his presence and this gave him the opportunity to get closer.
Her body moved ever so slightly and he knew what she was about to do. He had no choice but to say something now to prevent was about to happen.
In a gentle tone, he asked one simple question that most likely had a difficult answer.
"Now, why would you do something like that?"
