When deciding our choices for secondary school, we had it shortlisted to three schools. Obviously Mia and I went to the same one for convenience, and we chose: Kingdom, St John's, and Fordwarne. Many of our friends chose Kingdom, as it was on the same campus as Crimson Oaks. Sam and Sarah just lived just down the road from Kingdom, so it made sense to go there, as they had a high chance of getting accepted - along with already having older siblings there anyways.
Us on the other hand, weren't so sure. Yes, we lived close enough to get accepted, but we heard some bad reports about it being full of "chavs" and people under 16 that smoked, even on the premises. But, in the end, we felt it best to go for the local - Kingdom. All our friends were going there, and it was a 15 - 20 minute walk there everyday.
On the first day, it was very daunting. I didn't know what class I would be in, or if I would be with my friends or Mia. We all sat in the assembly hall, anticipating for our name to be called out. Finally, after the majority had been called, Ella was read out by our Head of Year - Mrs Bullocks (or Mrs Bollocks if you're feeling bitchy). At this point, Sarah had already been called, but Mia, Sam and I were left, and there were two classes left to be split into. I knew Sam was in this class, as she had already been chosen, and, to my relief, so was I.
Then, to my suprise, Mia was called. This was obviously the first time we were in a class together, ever since Reception, 7 years before. I suppose it was good. I mean, I did long for her in my classes in primary school. It would be good because we were finally "reunited" .
Our class was called Water North, as a result of the 4 elements. The first lesson we went to was PD (Personal Development). It was a bit weird. We had a teacher taking us called Mrs Woonan. She was highly annoying. By this point, I discovered that there were more primary school friends in here than I'd originally thought.
There was, of course, Sam and Mia. But also two girls that hated each other and always got into trouble - Mandy and Abigail. Mandy was really tough and had a stretcher in her ear. And Abigail was quite girly, but also tough. During our time at Crimson Oaks, the slaps, punches and arguaments were countless. I was quite upset because Tiff decided to go another school, so that meant she wouldn't be in any of my classes.
But, before too long, Tiff joined Kingdom about 1 month into the first year. However, she wasn't in any of my classes, nor my tutor group. When we entered our tutor period, we sat in alphabetical order. So obviously Mia was on my right, but a new girl sat on the other side of me. Her name was Anna. She was cool. She was friendly, and also seemed eager to make friends, too. We immediately hit it off, and we discovered we had many things alike, but also different. Anna had shoulder-length, light brown hair with bangs, and was a gymnast in her spare time. I felt as if I had almost reached my mission of meeting new people.
And I knew there was more to come...
