Grabbing my uniform and robe, I breathed a sigh of relief as I found a pair of comfortable pants and a top that were much more preferable than the short skirts the school usually provides. Quickly making my way to the large bathroom, I locked the door firmly, afraid that someone might barge in on me.

Fixing the water to my exact preference, I stepped into the shower and let the warm water cascade down my face and body, gradually winding its way down the drain as I lathered my hair with shampoo until it feels clean. Moments lingered as I reluctantly stepped away from the soothing shower, wrapping the towel securely around my head. The chill in the air jolted me into action, propelling me to pull on my uniform.

The black pants fit me snugly, providing me with the secure feeling I had been searching for. The white blouse was plain, but fit me nicely. I tied the tie casually, letting my long, brown hair cascade down my shoulders. Finally, I adorned the robe, feeling like a true Gryffindor student.

Pushing the bathroom door open, I quickly put my belongings away as I checked the clock. 8:18 am - I have 12 minutes before the girls and I make our way to Hogsmeade.

Meeting Ginny and Hermione by the North exit, we were filled with a sense of serenity and warmth as the sun shone down upon us. Even in the midst of all that was going on, the day was beautiful, and I couldn't help but feel excited to meet Niklaus and Hayley later today.

Hogsmeade is a magical paradise for children. Filled with an abundance of captivating shops, it contains an array of sweet treats, exciting toys, and unique potions. Not to mention the delightful bakery, there is something for everyone in this quaint and charming town.

It only took me a matter of minutes to pick out a wand. Mr. Ollivander was excited to help me, going on about the connection to your wand. I've got to say the ten-inch Red Oak Dragon Heartstring wand I ended up going with truly did feel as if it was calling to me. It's a much better replacement for the one Hagrid had me use.

"Three Broomsticks, anyone?" Ginny asked eagerly once I had finished selecting my wand. "Definitely!" Hermione and I both replied in unison.

The Three Broomsticks is a renowned tavern in Hogsmeade, famed for its delicious butterbeer. As I step inside, the tantalizing aroma of caramel and freshly-baked bread fills the air. Ginny signals to the waitress for three butterbeers, and we take a seat at one of the many tables, the chatter of other patrons providing a comforting hum in the background.

"Here you go, three butterbeers on the house!" the waitress said cheerfully, placing three giant mugs on the table. "Thanks, Leanne!" Ginny exclaimed with a bright smile as we all eagerly sipped on the sweet and creamy brew.

I never put much stock in the notion that 'Time flies when you're having fun' until it was almost time to meet my soon-to-be parents. So, after finishing our drinks, I felt a little guilty for lying when I told the girls I'd catch up with them later, as there was still one more place I needed to go.

Hermione asked with a skeptical tone, "Are you sure you remember how to use the Floo powder?" As I attempted to convince her and Ginny of my knowledge.

Ginny gave me a hug and Hermione followed suit, saying, "Okay, we'll see you later then."

Nervously walking into the tea shop, my heart racing as I prepared to meet my potential parents for the first time, I surveyed my surroundings with anticipation and a hint of fear. Although I had heard good things about them, I still felt uneasy. Then, I spotted them. They both looked kind and inviting.

As I drew nearer, I felt my heart swell with hope and warmth fill my chest. Niklaus and Hayley welcomed me with open arms, and we exchanged pleasantries as we sat down. Niklaus was tall and broad-shouldered, while Hayley had a gentle, twinkling gaze that comforted me. I felt a wave of emotion come over me as I realized that this couple was going to be my new family. Through the uncertainty, I knew that I would be okay.

Gazing into their eyes, I had a meaningful conversation and shared with Niklaus and Hayley the struggles I had experienced in my life in America, and how the love and care I had been shown here had given me a newfound happiness that I never knew was possible. My voice was filled with emotion as I spoke, full of gratitude for the joy, warmth, and security I was being gifted with. As I looked at them, my eyes filled with tears of joy and appreciation for the new home and second chance I had been given.

"I'm curious - where are you both from originally? I noticed your accents are slightly different."

Hayley declared proudly, "I was born in Louisiana," as Niklaus added with a smile, "And I'm from Georgia."

"Oh wow," I said with a hint of amusement as Hayley inquired if I had any siblings. "Unfortunately, not that I'm aware of," I replied, my expression shifting to a frown. Niklaus and Hayley both placed a comforting hand on mine, giving me an understanding nod.

Hayley asked after Klaus left to use the bathroom, "So, I know you haven't been here for long, but are there any boys you like?"

Feeling my cheeks flush with warmth, I candidly admitted that I don't like anyone at the moment.

"Ah, I see," she said with a sly smile as Klaus returned, inquiring what he had missed. "Not much. I was just asking her how her classes are going," Hayley replied, giving me a knowing wink.

"And how are your classes going?" I replied honestly, "They're good. I'm really enjoying Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures."

After getting to know Niklaus and Hayley for two enjoyable hours, I was sad that it was time for me to go. They pulled me in for one final, tight hug as we shared a laugh before I parted, leaving me feeling happier than ever.

"Ah, there you are! I was getting worried that you might have lost your way." Hermione said, relief evident in her voice, as I stepped into the common room.

"My apologies, I got caught up in one of the stores and lost track of time," I said as I sat down beside Ron, drawn to the warmth of the fire.

"Where is Ginny?" I questioned, noticing her absence. Hermione gave a lighthearted laugh and replied, "Probably somewhere with Dean." I was taken aback and exclaimed, "You noticed as well!"

Ron groaned, but I just smiled and playfully nudged him. "There's no need to worry," I said, trying to sound reassuring. "I'm sure they're just friends." Despite my attempts to remain serious, I couldn't help but chuckle as I stood up.

"Whatever," Ron mumbled as Harry shook his head in disbelief. "I'm feeling pretty tired so I think I'm gonna head to bed early," I said with a sigh, offering them a goodnight before heading upstairs.

"Goodnight!" They all said in unison.
