Dad and Mom have been bringing up my stuff for the past hour. I went to the living room, already loving the space. It was on the other side of the house. Where Mom and Dad's rooms are with the office area, and a huge parlor and such. I look at myself in the mirror hating the image I saw. I just wanted to be free. Just... Normal.

Dinner time surprisingly Mom ordered pizza. Which is new because we never ordered food. Well I do but not Mom.

Later on after dinner, I've done some unpacking. It was mostly the books that I own. I put them on the bookshelves, under the shelves are 2 cabinets. I put my movie dvds in there and my XBOX with my Nintendo Switch. Dad had to connect them to the flat screen TV, and with the Fire stick, so I can watch Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, YouTube, and Amazon Prime. For my theme colors since the walls are grey, I decided grey, white, black, and gold. I got settled in my bed, puffing up some pillows, when Dad came in.

"Hey pumpkin, you all set?" He asked as he looked around the room. Dad is in his mid 40's. He has short hair that I called 'salt and pepper' because some are white and some are black. He also has hazel eyes. That's where I got the hazel from, Valerie got the green eyes from Grand. Mom has blue.

"Yep." I said.

Dad knelt down so he can unscrew me from the portable tank to my large, rectangular oxygen concentrator, called a BiPAP. It helps with my breathing when I sleep. I laid down on my king size bed. Dad sat beside me and cradled me like a child.

"You're a fighter, you know that?" Dad asked.

"Daddddd." I whined. He smiled. "Did you take all your meds?"

"All of them." I lied. I didn't take the depression pills; Prozac and Lexapro. He gave me a light kiss on the forehead, got up, turning off the lights and closed the door behind him. I turn to the window, looking at the stars. My family thinks I'm depressed just because I spent my time in my room, hardly eating and watching The Umbrella Academy over and over. What can I say I love Five and Diego. The meds started to kick in. (Sleeping pills) My eyes started to droop, the last thing I saw were the stars shining brightly.

I woke up with a start, the sun shining brightly in my eyes, fucking blinding the shit out of me. I sat up, grabbing my glasses and yawned. I turn off the BiPAP, picking up my portable bag oxygen concentrator where it's been charging next to my bed, pressing the circular button in the center to turn it on. Pulling the straps over my shoulder. I like this oxygen tank then the rest because I get to hold it around my shoulders like a bag. I put on my cannula, and went to the bathroom. I brushed my teeth taking out my retainers for it to whiten my teeth more and keep it straight. Valerie came in without knocking the door, wrapping her arm around my neck and looking at the mirror.

"Day two in the house! Did you know we have a basement? We have a movie room, game room, and a work out room. How cool is that?!" I spit out the tooth paste.

"Cool." I mumbled. It was too early for all the happy shit. "Come one loser, let's go get some breakfast." She said as she grabbed my arm. I quickly took it back. "I'll meet you downstairs." I tell her. She pursed her lips and nods. I watch her walk away. I put on leggings and a huge t-shirt from the show The Umbrella Academy. I took the elevator down and went to the kitchen. Mom is making waffles and Dad is on eggs. Mom already lined up my medicine on the kitchen island with a glass of OJ. I sat on the kitchen stool.

"Morning." I muttered.

"Hi honey." Mom said brightly. I sighed. Like I said to early to be happy and shit. Valerie changed into her normal pink clothes.

"Tomorrow we start our new school Kristen how do you feel?" Val asks.

"Like I'm going to puke." I said and Mom gave me a plate of waffles, eggs and bacon.

"Lighten up dear, think of the new bright things." Ahh looking forwarded to....nothing. I got nothing. "It's your senior year, think of prom and --"

"Oh come on that happens in movies! No one really cares about senior year. You basically do nothing, you're just wasting your time." I said. Dad sat beside me.

"She's got a point Martha." Dad tells Mom. Boom. I ate some waffles.

"Kristen stop slouching. It's not good for your back." Valerie says. 'Why won't you stuck it up your ass. I wanted to say but didn't.' I didn't sit up. Just to get on her nerves. Dad winked at me. "Mom I think Kristen needs a hair do." I rolled my eyes.

"I think it looks nice. It fit's her personality." Dad says, and just like that Dad is my favorite.

"I'm going to my room. Don't bother me." I said and headed upstairs. Okay so maybe I am despondent , but I don't care. Let me just...live.

No one bothered me the entire day. I finished unpacking my clothes and started designing on my paper of how I want to decorate my room. Around 7ish, I heard a small knock on the door. I didn't say anything, but of course Valerie opened the door anyway.

"Hey loser." She says.

"Hey asshole." I responded back. I look up from my work. "What are you doing in my space?" I asked. She shrugged her shoulders. "Cut the bullshit Val, I'm not in the mood." I added.

"Wanna go get some ice-cream?" She asked. I didn't trust her. But ice cream is my weakness. I sighed.

"Sure." She quickly walked out. I grab my things and followed.

It was a 10 minute drive. She has a Mercedes and I have a Jeep. I sat in the passenger side, looking at the outside as Valerie drove.

"There's this little small town that's 10 minutes from here. They call it the town square because it looks like a square. There's this playground in the middle of it all, with a gazebo, and a stage--"

"I get it." I said annoyingly.

And she was right. When we got there it looked exactly how she said it looked. But I didn't care. I got out, looking at the ice cream place. I waited for Val but she didn't come out. I heard the doors lock. Little fucker. I knocked on the window. She rolled it down.

"What are you doing?" I hissed. She grinned.

"Nothing. Have fun!" She backed out and drove off. I hate my sister.

I called Dad later on, after I finished my ice-cream. He answered.

"Can you pick me up." I asked. He sighed. "Nice try but it wasn't worth it." I told him.

"I'll be there in 15." I hear him say.

Let's just say, if I wanted to go out, I'll go out. When I want to go out.

Periodt.
