There are a few things you can do with your story I haven't mentioned that don't really fit into a category of their own, so here they are:

1: Linking to an existing Wattpad user

This feature can be a bit finicky, but hopefully this will clear things up. If you want to include a clickable link to a Wattpad user's profile in your story, such as to give them thanks for their help, or if you're promoting their work, get your formatting ready ahead of time. If you want them bold and underlined, then CTRL + BU before you start this. Trust me, it's just easier.

Once you're ready to make a link like this: HollandWeathers in your story, you're going to type @; right away you should see "mention a user appear" beside it. Don't be worried that the symbol is touching your previous word! This always happens and will not remain that way. Either type out their full username, or start typing and select it from the list.

This next step is how to make it work, so really pay attention here: Once their username is completely filled in, do not type anything else. Click or tap at the end of the name so your cursor reappears, then press ENTER. Once you do, your link will turn orange and hovering over it will preview the hyperlink.

On mobile, it seems that you just type @ and their username as above, select the one you want from the list, and it turns into a link right away

On mobile, it seems that you just type @ and their username as above, select the one you want from the list, and it turns into a link right away. I haven't fully done one this way (as in published one in a story) as I work on PC mainly, but it seems to be the easier way to link to users in your stories.

That being said, you cannot post an active link within your story, as in a direct URL. It will simply appear as plain text, and text cannot be copy-pasted from the web browser reader, not sure about the mobile reader. The way I recommend linking to something externally is like so:

Link to [whatever thing you mentioned linking to] ➡️

Links posted in comments DO work, so you can then create an In-Line Comment once your chapter has been published that contains the link you mentioned. That way, people can easily find the link you're referencing. This is a good way to share your playlist for your story, or your Pinterest moodboard for example.

In-line comments will be on the right hand side universally, so you won't have to worry that your arrow will point in the wrong direction on some devices.

2: Youtube Videos in your stories

That's right! You can post videos as both your header, and throughout the body of your story. Simply click in a new line (press Enter once if one is not there or the buttons do not appear.) The same way you would add an image to your header/body, you can click the button to the right to add a video. Wattpad will ask for the Youtube link, and once you paste it, it will appear right away in your story. This is a good way to share music to set the mood for the story, showcase your cool animated cover if you have one (see Author's Notes of Le Loup-Garou for an example, I have one!)

That's it for now! If I think of others, or if others point them out to me, I'll update this chapter to add them in! Up next, we're going to discuss Header and Cover dimensions and why that's important.
