The Ninja had all gathered on the Bounty's deck for a training session. It was late, but the team wanted to strengthen their powers.
"Earth!" Cole yelled, as he attacked what seemed to be a Serpentine.
"Lightning!" Jay yelled, using his Nun-chucks to shock the Serpentine.
"Ice!" Zane yelled, knocking the Serpentine down. Suddenly, a light turned on to reveal that their enemy was a training dummy.
"Good training. Your powers are getting stronger. But where's Kai?" Nya said, from behind the light. (Y/n) snorted, and looked at her team.
"Oh, you guys are going to love this. Come on!" (Y/n) said, a smile on her face as she led the others to Wu's room. Kai was indeed in there, but he was wearing the Green Ninja's Gi.
"Fire! Unlock Fire! Uh, Fire go! Shoot flames! Oh, come on. Everyone else can do it. So can you. Bring heat!" He told himself. He was practicing in a mirror, trying to unlock his True Potential. The boys and (Y/n) walked into the room laughing.
"Very nice. Perhaps if you tried the phrase 'Fire dork,' maybe it might work." Cole joked. "How long have you all been watching?" Kai asked, removing the mask.
"Long enough to see how much of a dork you can be!" (Y/n) chuckled.
"The Green Ninja suit. That's awesome! Did you see the Silver Ninja suit?" Jay commented, making (Y/n) cringe a little.
"No I haven't. I was looking for some kind of clue from Sensei and then I found this." Kai said, motioning to the suit.
"But you know only he who is foretold to face Lord Garmadon is destined to be the Green Ninja, and only he should wear the Green Ninja outfit. Likewise with the Silver Ninja. So Sensei would most likely be very—" Zane tried to explain. " I know, I know. But I thought if I just tried it on, it might help me see my True Potential. It's not fair that you guys have unlocked your cool powers and (Y/n) and I still haven't. Besides, Sensei's gone and we don't know when he's coming back—" Right as Kai said that, a door could be heard opening and closing.
"Hello? I'm home." Wu called out.
"Sensei!" Everyone but Kai cheered. Kai rushed to change back into his gi, while the others ran to greet their master.
"Ah. It's so good to be home." Wu said in content.
"Welcome home Master!" (Y/n) said.
"So glad you're back." Zane added.
"Did you bring us anything?" Cole asked.
"Oh, Sensei, have you missed a lot. Zane's a Nindroid, Nya's the mysterious Samurai, Cole's a dancer—" Jay started explaining, but this only confused the poor man.
"Zane is a...what?" He asked. (Y/n) chuckled.
"You've been gone a while. We'll catch you up later. However, you might be pleased to know that Zane, Cole, and Jay have discovered their True Potentials. The only ones who have yet to do so are Kai and myself." (Y/n) informed him. "Have you now? Where is Kai?" Wu said, looking around for the Red Ninja, who ran up behind (Y/n), this time in his own gi.
"Right here. So glad you're back safe." Kai said, trying to act casual. Suddenly, Lord Garmadon came up from behind Wu. "Aah! Sensei, behind you!" Kai yelled, running to attack Garmadon, while the others moved to protect Wu. Wu and (Y/n) looked at each other with unamused faces. "Ugh! He's got four arms!" Kai yelled in shock.
"So we meet again." Garmadon said to Kai, in a mincing manner. "He must've followed you, Sensei!" Kai suggested. Sighing, (Y/n) walked over to Kai and grabbed his ear, pulling him off of the Dark Lord. "Ow! Ow! Ow!" Kai cried in pain, as (Y/n) pulled him by his ear to the others.
"Everyone, stop! He is the reason I left." Wu said, shocking the boys. "For so long as the Serpentine has Lloyd, he will be our guest." Wu said, as (Y/n) went to help his brother up.
"We have to live with this guy?"
"But Sensei, he has four arms!"
"Uh, must I remind you ever since he turned evil, he's been trying to get our Golden Weapons?!"
The boys complaints all angered Wu. "Enough!" He shouted, ceasing the boys complaints.
"Yes, Sensei." The boys all said, bowing in respect to their master.
"This isn't about the weapons. It's about my son." Garmadon said, with a serious expression. "From here on out, you will obey me and you will respect my brother." Wu ordered.
"Yes, Sensei." The team said, bowing once again, in respect for their master. "Now to the bridge. We must put our attention to more pressing matters." Wu said, as the seven of them all headed to the bridge. "So, where are we at with the four Fangblades?" Wu asked, once they arrived.
"Pythor's managed to take the first two, but there's still two left." (Y/n) said.
"And we only need one in order to prevent him from unleashing the Great Devourer." Cole added.
"Any luck finding their whereabouts?" Wu asked, turning to Zane.
"No, but the Falcon is programmed to alert us if he sees any suspicious activity." Zane replied. "Good. If we find the Fangblade, we find Lloyd. Kai and Nya, prepare the deck and double check the anchor. We need to be ready when we first get word of activity." Wu ordered.
"Yes, Sensei." The siblings said, walking out of the bridge. However, Kai looked at Garmadon on his way out.
"I have my eye on you." He said, walking backwards so he could glare at the man. However, this resulted in him hitting his head on the door way. Wu sighed as (Y/n) rolled her eyes. She grabbed Kai by the shoulders, turned him around, and pushed him out of the bridge. "(Y/n, would you be so kind as to help Garmadon get set up to stay for a few nights? There is no telling how long he will need to be here." Wu continued.
"Of course Sensei. This way, sir." (Y/n) said, leading Garmadon to the room that she and the boys shared. "You can have my bed. I'll move in with Nya." She said.
"Thank you child." Garmadon said. (Y/n) smiled, and turned to leave the room. "(Y/n)? Was it?" Garmadon spoke up before she left, making her turn to face him. "Yes sir?" She responded. "Tell me, (Y/n), what do you think of Lloyd's situation?" He asked. (Y/n) sighed. "Lloyd is a good kid. He tried to be evil like yo, but he is pure and innocent to do so. The worst thing he has done to us personally is dye Zane's uniform pink. I see Lloyd as a little brother, and I will do whatever it takes to get him back." She responded, making Garmadon smile slightly. "Thank you, again." He said. (Y/n) nodded and left the room.

Meanwhile, Kai and Nya were having a slight argument while cleaning the upper deck.
"But Nya, did you see he has four arms? Wherever Sensei found him, he's now made it possible so that he can possess all four weapons at once. I don't trust him. Not one bit." Kai said, mopping the deck.
"You have to remember, he's not just the Dark Lord, he's also Sensei's brother. Though he's pure evil, Sensei holds him close to his heart." Nya advised. "That's it!" Kai said suddenly. "What?" Nya asked, turning to face her brother. "To unlock my power. Sensei said the heart is the key. Maybe if I stand up to Lord Garmadon, I'll find my True Potential and then everyone can see I'm the Silver or Green Ninja! Ha! Nya, you are a genius!" Kai cheered.
"I don't quite follow your logic—" Kai cut her off, dropping the mop. "No time to explain. I have to go train. If I'm gonna confront Garmadon soon," He does a backflip, "I gotta be at the top of my game!" "But Sensei said he's our guest. And (Y/n) already got upset with you once for fighting him." Nya said, trying to reason with him. "Garmadon might've fooled Sensei and (Y/n), but don't think for a second I'm not keeping my eye on him. Nya, the Lord of Darkness just became our roommate!" He said.

The Ninja all watched Garmadon as he brushed his teeth with a dagger. When they were at the dinner table, Kai and Cole stared at Garmadon while he ate black grubs.
"What's he eating?" Cole whispered to Kai.
"Condensed evil. Supposed to be low in fat." Kai answered. A grub flew off of Garmadon's plate, and landed near Kai, who groaned in disgust and brushed it away with his fork. Sometime later, Jay, Nya, and Garmadon where all watching a movie. In the movie, the main character was saying goodbye to his lover, when Garmadon laughed as he changed the channel. Later that day, Kai and (Y/n) were trying to pilot through Bounty through a lightning storm, when Zane approached them.
"Where's Garmadon?" He asked them. (Y/n) shrugged, while Kai sighed in annoyance. "Sunbathing." He said, looking out at Garmadon who laid on the upper deck on a towel. At night, the boys had to share their room with Garmadon, seeing as (Y/n) let him have her bed earlier. This didn't boat to well with them, as Garmadon disturbed them with some electricity.
"Do you have to do that? We're trying to sleep. Garmadon only ignored him and only laughed, making Kai groan. The next day, the Ninja except for (Y/n) and Jay were watching Garmadon as he played a video game. "He's not even playing the game right. He's just shooting and destroying things." Kai said, angrily.
"I've noticed when he isn't so focused on trying to turn Ninjago into his own image, he's actually quite fascinating." Zane commented.
"Sure, four arms are freakish, but all in all, he doesn't seem that bad of a guy." Cole added, making Kai roll his eyes.
"He might be pulling the wool over all your eyes, but not mine. He's up to something. And I'm gonna be ready for it." He said, walking away. He had gone into the bridge to do his look out shift, but instead was practicing for when he would fight with Garmadon. "Garmadon, get ready to get Kai'd! Fire! Wham, bam, sorry to beat you, man!" He said, practicing. Just then, he heard Wu's voice in another room.
"This way. Come, come." Wu said. Curious, Kai followed the voice, and found himself at the weaponry. Inside was Wu, (Y/n), and Nya. "I have come to understand the mysterious Samurai is no longer a mystery." Wu said to Nya.
"Oh yeah, you heard about that. I guess I picked up a thing or two." Nya commented. "It was foolish of me to think that a girl could not be the destined Green Ninja. After all, it is a girl who is the Silver Ninja." Wu said, motioning to (Y/n).
"Nya's the Green Ninja? And (Y/n)'s the Silver Ninja?" Kai muttered to himself, before watching the three through a window.
"When the four weapons are laid out before the destined one, the weapons will react, revealing the identity of the Green Ninja." (Y/n) said, motioning to the Golden Weapons, which laid on the ground in front of Nya.
"But, Sensei... (Y/n)..." Nya muttered.
"Approach the weapons." Wu commanded. Just them, Garmadon appeared next to Kai.
"What are you doing out here?" He asked the boy, startling Kai, and making him fall off of the stool.
"What are you doing out here?" Kai retorted.
"Evil never sleeps."
"Yeah, well, good never rests."
"Maybe we should take care if this right now."
"I was hoping you'd say that."
The two began pushing each other, but the door opened before anything else could happen.
"Guys, guys, what are you doing out here?" (Y/n) asked, pushing the two away from each other.
"Perhaps you should be asking Mr. Snoopy Pants that question." Garmadon replied, crossing his arms and glaring at Kai.
"Kai, were you spying on me?" Nya asked, feeling a little betrayed. "What? No way! I was, uh, keeping watch." Kai lied. "So are you the Green Ninja? Is (Y/n) the Silver Ninja?" He asked. "What? Of course not." Nya replied, while (Y/n) stiffened. "So the weapons didn't tell you. Ah, that means I still have a chance for the Green Ninja."
"Truth is, she never wanted to know. And no, the Silver Ninja is still yet to be decided." (Y/n) said, crossing her arms. "At first, all I wanted was to be like you, but after seeing how obsessed you've become and discovering what I could do on my own, I'm happy being a Samurai." Nya said. "So then who's the Green and Silver Ninja?" Kai asked. "Perhaps we will never know." Wu said, as Jay ran over to them.
"Kai, you were supposed to be in the bridge! Zane's Falcon spotted them!" He said, making everyone look at him in shock, before following him to the Bridge. (Y/n) went up to the computer.
"Looks like Pythor is at the Temple of Fire." She said, pointing to the screen. "That means the Fangblade is there!" Kai said. "And Lloyd." Garmadon added.
"That's the same Fire Temple where Kai and Lord Garmadon first faced off." Jay stated, looking at the two. "If my memory serves me correct, I'd say one of us cheated back when we last fought." Kai said, glaring at Garmadon. "And I remember someone needing their Sensei to save them." Garmadon replied, returning the red ninja's glare.
"Guys! For the sake of the Fangblade and Lloyd, can we please just get along?!" Cole said, breaking the two apart.
"Since the last time we've been there, it looks like the volcano has grown unstable. The place is a powder keg just waiting to blow up. This will be a highly combustible environment." Nya informed as (Y/n) approached Garmadon.
"Can you go get the boy's weapons? They are in the weaponry." She whispered to the man. Garmadon nodded at her, before leaving the room. "Oh, great. Just what I like. Fighting armed and deadly snakes in a highly combustible environment about to blow up!" Jay fussed.
"We will do what we must." Wu spoke up, calming Jay slightly. "Yes, Sensei. But where are our weapons?" Zane asked, causing Kai to look around. "And why is Lord Garmadon not here?" He asked, rushing out of the bridge. Kai slid down the stair railing to the lower deck, and entered the weaponry to find Garmadon holding the Weapons. "I knew I couldn't trust you, you thief!" He yelled angrily.
"Foolish child. I look forward to teaching you a lesson." Garmadon said, glaring at Kai. "This ends now!" Kai announced, getting ready to fight. "Indeed." Garmadon agreed. The two ran at each other. Kai managed to get a hit on Garmadon, and was both proud and shocked with himself. "I'm alive. I'm alive!" He cheered. "You need to be taught a lesson!
Garmadon said, as the two charged at each other again.
"Kai? You in here?" Nya asked as she and the team approached the armory. However, Kai looked the door. "Kai! What are you doing?!" (Y/n) asked, as she juggled the doorknob to try and open the door.
"Discovering my True Potential!" Kai answered while he was pressed against the door. Jay took a shot at trying to open the door.
"Unh! The door won't budge!" Jay said frustrated.
"Kai thinks he'll unlock his power if he stands up to Lord Garmadon." Nya informed, facing her friends.
"Why would he think that?" Zane asked in confusion. "'Cause he thinks he's the Green Ninja!" Nya answered, making (Y/n) roll her eyes. "Well, if we don't open this door soon, I think he's gonna be mincemeat. " She stated.
"Stand back!" Cole said, approaching the door. (Y/n) backed away as Cole activated his true potential. "Earth!" He yelled as he broke down the door. However, they walked in the room to see that Kai had already defeated Garmadon.
"I defeated him. I did it! Are my eyes glowing? Did I unlock my powers? Is this my True Potential?" Kai cheered excitedly, before groaning in frustration. "Argh! Why isn't it working?" He yelled in anger.
"Because you cannot defeat someone who allowed himself to be defeated." Wu said as Nya and (Y/n) helped Garmadon up.
"I wasn't going to hurt you, boy. I was only fetching your weapons as was asked of me." Garmadon said, standing up. "Yeah right! Likely story. You were trying to steal them! What idiot would ask you of all people to get them?" Kai shot back, glaring at Garmadon.
"I'm the idiot who asked him to get them, nitwit." (Y/n) monotoned, glaring at Kai, who gave her a nervous look.
"Perhaps it is best you do not reach your True Potential, or else someone could get hurt." Wu said, as he and the others glared at Kai.
"Way to go, hero." Cole remarked.
"Oh. Poor thing. Let us help you." Nya said, as she and (Y/n) continued to help Garmadon.
"Yes. Poor thing." Garmadon repeated, sending Kai a smirk. Kai clenched his fist, when the ship suddenly stopped.
"Sounds like we've finally reached our destination." (Y/n) commented, leading the others out of the room. Everyone disembarked to observe their destination.
"The Fire Temple." Cole muttered as they left the Bounty. Nya, who was still on the Bounty, used the Falcon for communication.
"The volcano seems to be on the verge of eruption, guys. All recent indicators tell me that this place is becoming increasingly fragile. Even the smallest rupture can make the whole thing go off." She warned.
"Then we must not use our weapons." Wu demanded, and everyone but Kai put their weapons up.
"Kai." (Y/n) said, warningly as Kai sighed.
"Yeah, yeah. No weapons. But only because I wouldn't want anything to prevent us from getting that Fangblade." Kai said, putting his Sword away as he and (Y/n) walked past Garmadon.
"Or my son." Garmadon added, following them. They approached the Fire Temple where Wu noticed a tunnel.
"There. The Serpentine must be inside the inner core. From here on out, we travel by shadows." He said to his team. "It's the only way I know how." Garmadon replied. The group then rushed down the tunnel to the base of the volcano, where they saw the Serpentine digging on a pillar. (Y/n) looked around, before tapping Garmadon's shoulder to get his attention.
"I can see Lloyd." She whispered, pointing to the young boy, who was being held in a cage. Garmadon gasped when he saw him. "Son." He whispered. Meanwhile, Pythor was overseeing some of the diggers, when he heard one hit something. "Huh? Out of my way, fool!" He said, pushing the digger away, before pulling out his prize. "The third Fangblade is ours!" He yelled, as the other Serpentine cheered. However, Pythor saw the Ninja n the Blade's reflection. "Ninja? Attack!" He commanded.
"Light as a leaf! Attack like there is no tomorrow!" Wu yelled, and his team went to fight the Serpentine. The ninja all attacked different serpentine. Kai noticed that he was surrounded and brought out his weapon. However, this only made the volcano react to its power.
"Kai, the weapon is compromising our safety." Nya said from the Falcon. "I will do what I must." Kai said, using his sword to fight. Meanwhile, Pythor turned to the Serpentine near him.
"Let's get out of here! But not before we leave them with a parting gift. Boys?" He said, and some Constrictai dug up some holes in the wall.
"They're making the volcano unstable." Zane said to (Y/n), who landed next to him.
"Any minute this place is gonna blow. We have to get out of here." (Y/n) urged, she and Zane retreating.
"Not without my son. "Garmadon said, refusing to leave when he heard Lloyd call out for him. Pythor noticed this.
"Argh, lose the boy!" Pythor ordered, and the Serpentine holding him dropped the cage near some rising lava.
"Dad!" Lloyd cried, as Garmadon and (Y/n) rushed to save Lloyd.
"Ninja Go!" (Y/n) yelled, as she did Spinjitzu to get to Lloyd faster. She pulled the cage out of the lava just as the bottom melted.
"Dad." Lloyd whimpered as he hugged his father.
"Son." Garmadon said in a soothing manner, before Kai pushed past the three.
"The Fangblade's mine!" He said with a determined tone.
"Kai wait! Come back! The whole place is going to explode! It's too risky!" (Y/n) warned, but Kai kept running for the Fangblade. "Then I better be quick!" He yelled. He managed to get the Fangblade out of Pythor's grasp though it fell near the lava.
"Hurry, we must leave here at once!" Pythor warned as the others met up. They did so just before the entrance closed. Meanwhile, Kai leapt down closer to the Fangblade.
"Leave it, Kai! It's not worth your life!" Jay begged, but Kai kept running.
"Not without that Fangblade!" He yelled back. The others where about to leave, but Lloyd stopped.
"But what about Kai?" Lloyd asked, before turning to call out for his friend. However, when he did, the ground underneath him broke, causing him to fall.
"Lloyd!" (Y/n) called out.
"No! Lloyd!" Garmadon yelled, reaching for his son. "(Y/n)! Dad! I'm sinking!" Lloyd cried out. Meanwhile, Kai was still struggling to reach the Fangblade. "Uhn, it won't budge!" He said, before dropping it onto a rock below him.
"We have to get out of here, or else none of us will get out of here." Wu informed, as the rest of the team pulled Garmadon along.
"But my son!" He protested. Just as they had left, the entrance was blocked by rocks. Kai was still in there trying to get the Fangblade, but he was getting real frustrated.
"Come on, why won't my power unlock?!" He yelled in frustration.
"Kai! Help me!" Lloyd yelled, making Kai look over at him. The young boy was sinking into lava fast. Kai looked back at the Fangblade before making his decision. He ran over to get Lloyd. "Come on. Let's get out of here." He said, holding Lloyd close to him. "But the Fangblade?" Lloyd asked, noticing the Fangblade slipping into the lava. "Forget it. This place is coming apart. Ninja, go!" He used Spinjitzu to leap from ledge to ledge, but the two were quickly surrounded by lava geysers. The other ninja were all running back to the Bounty, pulling Garmadon along as he cried out for his son. Just as they began to leave on the Bounty, the volcano exploded. Everyone stared at the volcano with shock and sadness. "No..." (Y/n) muttered, realizing she had just lost two of her teammates, as Cole came over to comfort her. Just then, a ball of fire shot out of the volcano. It was later revealed to be Kai and Lloyd flying towards the Bounty.
"It's Kai! He's found his True Potential!" Jay cheered. "He did it!" (Y/n) said, hugging Cole. The two boys landed on the Bounty. Kai removed his mask and gave a look of understanding to Wu before his power diminished and he passed out. Then the Bounty took off for open skies. A little while later, everyone was in the bridge, watching as the Garmadons had a proper reunion.
"Dad? Is it really you?" Lloyd asked, hugging Garmadon.
"It is, son." Garmadon replied, hugging back. "Dad? Why do you have four arms?" Lloyd asked, looking up at his dad while (Y/n) and the others smiled.
"He's gonna be okay." (Y/n) said, making her team cheer. Then Garmadon turned to Kai.
"Thank you, Kai." He said, offering Kai a smile, which Kai returned.
"But how did you survive? How did you discover the key to unlocking your powers?" Zane asked, making Kai turn to the team.
"I knew when I had to make a choice. I wanted the Fangblade so badly, to prove I was good enough to become the Green or Silver Ninja. But then I figured it out. All of my training to become the best Ninja wasn't in preparation to become the Green or Silver Ninja. It was... to help the Silver Ninja protect him." Kai explained, looking at Lloyd. Then the others caught on to what he meant. Lloyd, however, just looked at everyone with a confused expression.
"What? What is everybody looking at me for?" Lloyd asked.
"That means..." (Y/n) trailed off as She and Cole brought the Golden Weapons in front of Lloyd. Then the weapons reacted by levitation and emitting green light.
"Lloyd is the Green Ninja. I had thought it would be one of you, but it was him the whole time. It all makes sense. Not only have you four along with (Y/n) been chosen to protect the Golden Weapons, but also to protect the Chosen One. Perhaps with time, the Silver Ninja will come to light." Wu explained, as the weapons fell to the floor.
"That means..." Garmadon trailed off, once he realized something. "The battle lines have been drawn, brother. Sadly, our family has only become more divided. Brother versus brother, and now, son versus father." Wu said, as Lloyd and Garmadon looked at each other. The group developed looks of sadness, before Jay broke the silence.
"Hehe, this is heavy and all, but whatever happened to the Fangblade!?" He asked, making (Y/n) shrug her shoulders. "Who knows." She commented. Meanwhile, at the Fire Temple, Pythor spotted the Fangblade flowing in the lava. He used his staff to grab it.
"Ah, it's so beautiful. Cool and clean it off, boys. Because we've only got one more to go." He ordered, laughing evilly as two Serpentine whimpered from touching the hot blade.
