(mentions of abuse and self harm)
I made my way into my room, falling onto my bed with a sigh.
School was slow but I was happy to be back, out of the 15 student that went to Paris only 5 were back in class not including me.
"What's in the box?" I jumped.
Luke sat at my desk chair staring at the package that sat on top of my desk.
"Luke, hun, we talked about this." I told the older boy.
"Oh right, sorry." He blushed.
"But, uh, what's in the box?"
"Why'd you kiss me?"
"I asked first." Luke crossed his arms.
"It's from a... ex-boyfriend and I want nothing to do with him so I don't know." I told Luke.
"Now, why did you kissed me?"
Luke went quiet and blushed the deepest red ever, as I felt my heart fluttered.
Wait
"Because I like you."
I looked down.
"You shouldn't." I told him.
"Why?" Luke sat down beside me.
"Is it because I'm dead and basically over 40?" Shaking my head, I looked up at him.
"No, it's not that. I'm just not good enough for you or anyone for that matter."
Luke tensed up beside me.
"Who told you that?" Luke fumed.
I looked at him and I knew I could trust him.
"The ex who sent me that box. He was verbally abusive, he never hitted me or anything." I fumbled with my sleeves.
"He would tell me that I was worthless that nobody would ever want me... it got so bad that I started to believe him and felt like whatever I did, I was annoying someone. So I finally had enough so I broke up with him the morning I left for Paris." I suddenly was very interested in my sleeves.
"Emilia. Let me see your wrists." Luke said sounding like he was about to cry.
"I don't think..."
"Please." Sighing I lift up my sleeves.
"I haven't done it since I left."
Luke gently rubbed his thumb over the faded cuts before looking up at me.
"You are amazing, don't ever think less about yourself. I happen to think you're beautiful." Luke whispered softly.
"Thank you." Luke smiled brushing hair away from my face.
I smiled back as Luke pulled me into his arms, pressing his lips on the top of my head.
We sat like that for a little while until I remembered I had to finish my essay and do homework.
"As much as I want to be here in your strong muscular arms, I have school work to do."
Luke smiled.
"Okay. I should see what Reggie is doing, you can't keep him alone for too long." I chuckled.
"Yeah. I'll be down around 7."
"Okay." Luke kissed my cheek before disappearing.
Running my hand through my hair, I groaned staring at my Algebra homework.
"I quit. I'm becoming a nun." I crossed my arms as I heard music.
I leaned against the door smiling at the two girls as they hugged.
"Em!" Flynn said as she saw me.
"Hey kid. I see you met the boys." She rose a brow.
"Wait." She looked at the boys then back at me.
"You can see them too?" I nodded.
"And I can touch them."
I high fived Reggie and Alex before going over to Luke as we held hands.
"Are you two dating?" Luke and I jumped apart.
"Uh, no." I said as the boys disappeared.
Well, only to Flynn.
"You can only see them when they play." I said.
"Unless..."
"Julie." I warned.
"Unless what?" Flynn asked as the boys stared at us.
I groaned.
"When I touch Luke, others can see him. I haven't tried with the others." Flynn smiled.
"Try it." She told me.
"I have homework, I was in France for two months remember?" She rolled her eyes.
"And I have work tomorrow... maybe later." I told the younger girl.
"Fine." She groaned.
"I'll give you free coffee tomorrow." I said before leaving the garage.
