CHAPTER SIX[ oo6. unspoken feelings. ]
"WHAT BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS." Hannah sighs, dreamily as her eyes flickered from the flowers to Tewksbury, she noticed the sudden stiffness in his shoulders. "I wonder if there happens to be any blue ones." Hannah asked out loud. She watched Tewksbury turn his head towards her with nothing but a smile. His eyes roamed throughout Hannah. His own mind couldn't believe it.
"What are you doing here?" He asked, happily, then realization struck his features, he suddenly came up with the terrible conclusion of Hannah using him for the reward money. His smile fades and he looks overly hurt. "You're here for the reward money, aren't you?" He starts, then he backs up.
"A reward? For you?" Hannah asked, while acting as if she was thinking. "Maybe I am, now that you mention it."
"You wouldn't dare." He says. He must truly be an idiot if he thinks I would turn him in, but that did not stop her from playing a quick joke on him.
She jumped towards him, grabbing his forearm. "I would." Hannah's face was incredibly close to his as she spoke. Tewksbury's mind automatically forgot about the reward money, his thoughts only about their sudden close proximity. His face softened, their eyes looking right into each other.
Hannah's eyes furrowed, her prank didn't work, instead he looks calm, and some what comforted.
She quickly backed away and let a couple feet between them. "Do you really think I'd turn your arse in?" She laughed, ignoring what just took place only seconds ago.
"You can never be too careful." He responded, feeling his cheeks warm, completely embarrassed.
"You're correct." Hannah said, while she laughed at the irony. "Yet, here I am, helping you, while someone is trying to eliminate you from this world. I clearly haven't learned to take signs."
"And why are you helping me?" He questioned with a smirk, not taking in anything else she just said.
"Well possibly that there is someone out there trying to kill you." Hannah repeated, eyebrows furrowed, masking out what she truly wanted to say, I care for your safely, about you and I don't want to see you killed, I couldn't bare it, is what she wanted to scream out, but she knew she couldn't, at least not here. He nodded, accepting her response, not knowing that it wasn't her complete truth.
Their eye contact breaks when Tewksbury turns around. Hannah looks away and tries to brush off the suddenly weird feeling she has in her stomach. She notices the amount of people they were around, the danger Tewksbury was in, if by some chance one of them actually did want the reward money for his capture, they were screwed.
He turns back around and pulls out a decent sized blue flower from underneath his jacket, finally giving her what she had asked for, a long moment ago. His smirk still lingered on his lips as to not try to look too arrogant. He failed miserably because nothing gets past Hannah.
