"So, once again tell me everything."

I glared at him over the mug of my coffee, "I already told you everything."

Poppop rests his hand on my arm, "Yes, but that was for the police. I was wondering if you left anything out."

After the whole fiasco, Poppop and I had left to go to Denny's, our ultimate 'bad news' food joint.

"Oh suuuuuure," I say, rolling my eyes sarcastically, "I just loooooove to keep important details away from the only people that can help me. Grow up, Pop!" I snap, slamming my hand down on the table, "I'm dying out here!"

Poppop sighs and fiddles with his Denny's napkin, "Look I know it's tough. Tomorrow we're gonna keep you down at the station."

"The fuck does that mean?"

"It means you'll be sleeping there. That bastard will have to go thru a LOT of police officers before he can get to you."

I sigh and relax into my seat, "So where am I going to sleep?"

Go to sleep. Jeff's words echoed in my mind.

"You'll sleep in one of the interrogation rooms. There's only one way in, and there's no windows."

I nod, and start to dig into my pancakes.
---
"Are you sure you want to sleep there?" Jacky asks, "You can always crash over at my place. 'Creep will probably be looking for you over there."

"No thanks Jacky," I said hauling more stuff into my over night bag, "If I stay with you, you're in danger."

"Fine." She sends me a mischievous smirk, "I bet you won't need your car over there, right?"

"Enjoy."

"Yes!" She pecks me on the cheek, running out the door, "Good luck, don't die."

I sling my bag over my shoulder and walk downstairs, "Ready to go Poppop?"

Soon we're in the car, driving thru endless darkness. I stared out the window, watching street lamps go by quickly. We drove in silence, the only sound coming from outside. The occasional dog barking, car going by or drunken shrieks of teens messing around. Yeah, I was 16 and never been a part of that.

"WHOAH!"

I jumped a foot in the air and jerked forward, hitting my head on the dash when Poppop stepped on the brakes. Warm blood trickled down my forehead. I sat back and groaned.

"WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR PROBLEM?!?" I curse loudly.

He was white, "I-I think I hit something. Someone, actually."

We stared at eachother before getting out of the car. After walking around a bit, we concluded that we'd hit nothing, but there was something. A note taped to the grill.

'Don't you wish you hadn't hit the brakes?'

Poppop balled the note up angrily and threw it into the darkness.

"You know that's littering right?" I joke.

"Back in the car."

We drove for another five minutes before pulling up to the station. Poppop looked at me and nodded, getting out. I was about to follow suit, but when my hand touched the handle, the back door swung open and someone scuttled in.

Correction, someone scuttled out. I caught a flash of white hoodie disappearing into the bushes, before shuddering and getting out myself.

"What's wrong?"

"...Nothin'." I mutter, slamming the door shut.

We walked into the building.
