I fidgeted in my seat. I blew out air. I did anything to keep from dying of boredom. The boat rocked gently in the still water, lulling me to sleep. But obviously, I couldn't go to sleep because-
"Your pole there looks like it's about to go over." I glare at Poppop and lift the pole up a little higher. That's why.
I turn back to the water, searching for any signs of life. There were none. Only a couple birds flying overhead. Dear god, how do we even know there are any fish in this lake!
"Grandpa, when can we go?"
"Shhhhh... the key to fishing" he paused, "is silence."
"Well, what if I don't want to fish?"
"Tough luck."
I sighed and recast my pole.
30 minutes later I tugged it back up only to discover that I couldn't. Unwilling excitement welled up inside of me.
"HEY!" I shouted, probably scaring off every fish within ten miles, "I GOT SOMETHING!!!"
I immediately tried reelin it in, "It's too big!"
"Well give it to me!"
"No!" I shouted, like the immature 10 year old I was, "I can do this!"
After like, five minutes, I pulled it up. 'Twas a stick.
"Oh," My grandpa chuckled, "Don't worry, happens to the best of us. Just throw it back in."
"No!" I snapped once again, making Poppop jump, "I caught it, it's mine!"
Poppop chuckled. We continued fishing, me happily clinging to the stick.
After another hour we returned to the shore, stick and catfish in hand.
"Pretty good day huh?"
"Not really."
"Shut up." He waved over some random guy, "Would you please take a picture of me and my granddaughter?" The guy smiled and nodded, "Here." He handed him the camera.
I smiled at the man. His skin was a light brown, his teeth were white, he had a happy glint in his eye and was wearing camo pants. I liked this man.
There was a click as the camera went off, capturing this moment forever.
And then a second click. And a tugging feeling.
I swallowed hard as I knew I shouldn't. But I did. I took a small step to the right and looked past the man.
To a boy not a lot older than me, wearing a white hooded shirt and holding a camera.
Always there.
------
I opened my eyes in the car. Something was wrong.

Once again thank you too mrhgirl123. Thanks for voting!I'm super happy right now, because we've passed 150 views. Granted, like 50 might be from me. I keep havin to go back to check stuff. For instance, what's my main character's name? I forgot it was Noel! Because I was arguing between Jesse, Stacy, or Noel. WHICH BRINGS ME TO MY NEXT POINT! I want to introduce a couple creepypastas, but I don't wanna go all out. So whoever can tell me why I chose those names (hint:not anything to do with creepypasta), can pick one!
Happy guessing!
