My mother and father had gone to a theatre to watch a play, and left me alone in the house. I was 15, so i wasn't exactly scared. Upon sitting on the bed, i looked out my window and saw that it was raining. 'Perfect weather to watch a horror movie' I thought.

It was currently 7:30 pm and i was hiding under my blanket. Suddenly, my phone buzzed, which made me jump. It was my mother. 'Ugh, mum, you scared me!' , 'Oh, sorry.' , 'anyway, what do you want?' , 'Make sure to check if the door is locked' , 'Yeah, yeah, i know. Do you think i'm stupid?' , 'No honey, i don't, just make sure you do it!' And just ike that, she hung up. i put my phone next to me and continued watching.

About half way through the movie, my attention diverted to the patio doors next to the TV. They were made of glalss. I saw, a figure of a man. Standing there, with a knife. Like any normal person, i screamed! I pulled my blanket over my head, like that would make a difference, and picked up my phone. After dialling the police's number, i remembered what my mother told me, 'Make sure to check if the door is locked' and thoughts like these started to pop up in my head, 'What if he gets in?', 'What if he's standing behind me right now?', 'What if he k..k..KILLS ME?!? NOO I'M TOO YOUNG TO DIE!!!' Then, i hear the police sirens, and a small sigh of relief escapes my mouth.

There was a knock at the door. I poked my head from under the blanket, and my eyes quickly scan the room. When i was sure there was no-one else, i got up and went to the door. I peeked through the eye hole, what? You can never be too sure, anyway, i opened the door, and the policeman let himslef in. I told him what i saw and where i saw it. He went to the patio door, scribbled something down, and went outside. Through the glass, i saw him scribble something else. He came back inside, and stood infront of the TV, facing me. 'Well, ma'am, there is nothing i can see outside, that would indicate that someone was there.' 'But, i saw him. He was standing right there!' i said, pointing outside. 'Maybe, you were imagining it was becuase of the horror movie you were watching,' He says, signalling to the TV.

He was about leave, when he stepped behind the sofa. A sudden 'SPALSH'  filled the silence. The policeman looked down, and his eyes widened. He looked at me horrified, 'Ma'am, the figure you saw, was not outside.. it was a mere reflection'
