"Ate Rodz, how about this?" asked Alex to Rodz while showing something on her phone.
I was helping our mom preparing snacks for the girls while watching Rodz bond with my sisters Denise and Alex. It's really nice to see her become close to my siblings.
"I really like her for you." biglang sabi ni Mama in between my thoughts.
"Really Ma?" nangingiti kong sagot sa kanya.
"Nakikita ko kung gaano ka nya nabibigyan ng inspirasyon. I can also see how independent she is. Bonus na yung aspiring writer sya like me." nakangiting sagot ni Mama sa akin. I hugged her.
"Thanks Ma. Salamat po at tinanggap nyo ni Papa si Rodz. I promise that we will achieve our dreams together." sagot ko kay Mama. Masaya ako na komportable ang babaeng mahal ko sa mga taong importante sa akin.
I put the snacks and drinks on our center table and joined my sisters and Rodz. "Anong ginagawa nyo?" tanong ko kina Alex.
"Kuya Pau go away. This is a girl thing!" mataray na sagot ni Alex. Tiningnan ko si Rodz na ngayon ay tinatawanan ako.
"Love I'm okay. We're just bonding. It's a girl thing." sagot ni Rodz sa akin.
"Fine." napakamot ako sa ulo. Ano ba yang girl thing na yan kase? Girlfriend ko yan eh.
After god-knows-how-long hours, I finally got the chance na masolo ang girlfriend ko. She picked up her phone and showed something to me.
"Love, tingnan mo 'to." showing an email to me.
"Jidca Publishing has an opening post for a staff. Nagapply ako last week." sabi ni Rodz sa akin.
"And?" nakaabang na tanong ko kay Rodz.
"I got hired! I'm so excited!" she hugged me out of excitement.
"Wow! Congrats my love! This calls for a celebration!" humahangang sagot ko kay Rodz. I'm so proud of her. Imagine, we just graduated yesterday but she already got a job. Ako kaya?
"But I still need to write a pitch daw before my on-boarding. That's their way daw to check their staff's creativity for the next writer's lineup." sabi ni Rodz.
"I'll support you love. Habang naghahanap pa ako ng work." I told Rodz.
"Salamat love. I really can't wait to start." said Rodz.
I decided to ask her out on a dinner while she start to write her pitch.
We went to our favorite coffee shop. I ordered our coffee while she started to write. I watched her while intently. She's so focused on what's she's doing. I can see how her facial expressions changes as she writes. I admire her. I admire how passionate she is with writing. Most of the times she just blurt out a plot idea for a story and turns out really amazing. I love her for being courageous enough to take this path even though I'm not with her. Even after what she experienced back when she's starting to write.
