Rodine's POV

It's been 2 months since I started to work as a staff in a publishing company. I work 7:30am to 4:30pm every weekdays. That's why I have a lot of free time to do other things. Kabaliktaran ni Sejun. When he started to work as a data analyst in a sales consultancy firm, he has little time for leisure. Sometimes I worry for his health. He doesn't eat a lot these days, as Tita Grace told me.

Just like today. It's our 6th monthsary as a couple. And it's Christmas eve later in the evening. Usapan namin that we will have a quick date today. I've been sitting here in our favorite coffee shop for about an hour already. An hour! What on earth did that guy's been doing? It's Christmas Eve for Pete's sake. Naiiyak na ako sa inis. Nakaubos na ako ng dalawang kape simula pa kanina para lang hindi ako magmukhang buang na naghihintay sa wala.

Mayamaya pa ay nakita kong papasok si Sejun sa coffee shop. I did not looked at him. I'm so annoyed by the fact na palagi nalang ganito. Noon naiintindihan ko pa. Pero ngayon kasi ay holiday. It's a holiday! Why did he have to work on a holiday?

"Love. Sorry ngayon lang ako." nagmamakaawang sabi ni Sejun.

"Di naman obvious na ngayon ka lang." matabang na sagot ko.

"Love sorry na. May ano. May ginawa lang kasi ako kaya ako nalate." sagot ni Sejun habang nakahawak sa aking kamay.

"Ano namang ginawa mo?" naiinis na tanong ko sa kanya. Mas lalo akong nainis sa sagot nya. May ginawa ka? Ano namang ginawa mo? May mas importante pa sa akin?  "May babae ka ba?" sunod na tanong ko.

"Huh? Bat naman biglang may babae love?" natatawang sagot ni Sejun.

Aba lakas pa ng loob na tumawa ng mokong na'to. Sapakin kita dyan eh. "Ano nga?" hindi makapaghintay na tanong ko.

"Remember yung sinasabi ko sayong nakita ko na leaflet ng ShowBT sa Makati? Yung may paudition?" sagot ni Sejun.

"Yung Korean Entertainment Company? Anong meron?" I asked him curiously.

"I auditioned. And I passed! Pinatawag nila ako kanina. That's why I'm late. I'm gonna be an artist love!" he said, full of excitement while hugging me.

So that's the reason why he's late this time. I'm glad it's not because of a woman. Or work.

"Wow! I'm so happy for you love! Oh my God! Yung boyfriend ko artista na!" natutuwa kong sagot kay Sejun. I've never been proud of him. I'm glad he pursued his dream on music. He's been dying to share his compositions to the world. He has this vision to showcase Filipino music internationally. That the Filipinos can also do it like the Koreans, or Americans did.

"I'm gonna get it love. I'm gonna do it." He always tells me with conviction. Now it's happening. He's finally reaching his dreams. I turned around and stood up.

"Artista na yung boyfriend ko!" sigaw ko sa mga tao sa loob ng coffee shop. I don't care if pinagtitinginan ako ng mga tao, basta proud ako sa mahal ko.

"Uy love umupo ka nga. Nakakahiya." natatawang sagot ni Sejun.

I laughed at his reaction. What a nice Christmas gift this is. I can't wait to cheer for him on the front stage while watching him perform his songs, with the crowd cheering his name. I'm sure he'll be able to inspire other people when that happens. Just like what he did to me. I smiled at the thought.
