today is now monday, the boy's first day of school.

corbyn and jonah got up early, making breakfast and lunch for their boys. by 7:30 they were done and they got the boys up and ready for school.

"you boys excited for school?" jonah asked enthusiastically.

"yeah!" zach yelled enthusiastically while the other two boys shrugged.

"what about you two?" corbyn asked, to which they shrugged again.

"come on, school isn't that bad...how about we go to dinner, we'll get wherever you want?" jonah suggested as  jack's face lit up.

"are we liking this idea?" corbyn asked as zach repeatedly said 'yes' and gave the older boys puppy dog eyes.

"okay," daniel said.

"corbyn will get you boys at three." jonah said.

"you sure you don't want me to walk you to class?" corbyn asked daniel as he shook his head.

"okay, have good day honey. try to make some friends—oh and don't forget your allergies—"

"okay da—i won't." daniel said leaving corbyn's car and walking into the building.

"okay babes it's you and me for now. come on." corbyn said finding parking. he helped zach out the car with his hand finding jack's.

they first went to zach's class.

"aren't you coming daddy?" zach asked.

"no bubba, daddy can't stay."

"why not?" zach asked sadly.

"because daddy already finished school. plus daddy is too old!" corbyn said as he looked at zach's face, tears already threatening to fall.

"hey, remember what we promised? make it through school and we get whatever you want."

"but i want you..." zach says clinging onto corbyn.

"hey hey no tears. come on bud, you see that boy over there. look he has the same cars you like, right?" corbyn asked as zach looked over at a girl with blonde hair blue eyes. she was playing dress up and admiring herself in the play mirror.

"or you can play dress up her." corbyn suggested as zach nodded. "go ahead and ask her nicely." he said to him.

"hi! i'm anna!" she smiled brightly. "like the princess!"

"i-i'm zach. can i play with you?" he asked shyly.

"yeah!" she said as she took his hand.

"bye daddy!" zach shouted as he and anna giggled.

"bye baby! have fun!" corbyn said as he focused his attention on jack.

"okay let's find your class shall we?" corbyn asked knowing he would only get a nod in return.

"are you ready?" corbyn asked as jack shook his head.

"i know, everything right now seems hard. new school, new friends, new house but you can do it, okay? your strong jack."

jack pointed at his throat indicating that he had some concern about him using his voice.

"i know talking isn't your thing, but we'll figure it out together. i'll talk to your teacher and we can work on something." corbyn smiled kissing jack's mop of hair.

when the school day came to an end each boy waited for corbyn's arrival.

"hi boys! how was school?" corbyn asked.

"it was fun! me and anna, played dress up and then we painted in art class— and ohhh anna asked if i can come over." zach rambled as corbyn chuckled.

"that's lovely zach. what about you daniel?"

"it was okay." the eldest son said.

"okay? did you make any friends? did you like your classes?"

"yeah, it was just average." daniel said.

but down inside daniel hated every single moment of it. he didn't like a single class, he didn't make any friends, and on top of that he has to make a project on his family tree, which he knows nothing about.

"jack was it okay?" corbyn asked looking through his windshield mirror. as the boy nodded.

he didn't talk to anyone per usual, but the boy felt like the odd one out. everyone spoke and even asked him questions but he physically couldn't say anything. he felt like stupid for not being able to open his mouth and say something as simple as hello. he felt stupid because he couldn't understand multiplication or the words in the book for that matter.
