ENCOUNTERING DARKNESS was not very new to me, sometimes it felt that it was a part of me.

My body felt tired, I could feel nothing, every inch of my skin ached. Letting out a long breath, my attempt to open my eyes went in vain, deciding to just stay still for some seconds. When I knew I could move my body, I did, it was as if I woke up from a long slumber. I felt the warm blanket around me, I was in my bed. With the support of my hands, I crawled up a bit sick that I could sit on the bed, my legs stretched out.

The sky was dark outside, through my window I could still see the rain pouring heavily, it made me shiver. Hearing some noises downstairs jolted me back to reality, the memories of Kyle being here appearing in my head in flashes. That's when I realised that he was the one to catch me when I fell, his gentle, soothing voice rang in my head. Heating a knock on the door, I got up startled.

If he knew I was asleep wby was he knocking on the door, he really made me confused sometimes. Not opening my mouth, I waited for him to barge inside my room. However, he very slowly opened the door, peeking inside as if he was making sure I wasn't disturbed, it made me smile. "Whoa, you scared me" Kyle had one of his hands on his heart, his hair no longer a mess. Darting away my gaze from him, I stood up from my bed.

"I─Thankyou, for helping me" My episodes hadn't been this worse shudh ever led me black out.  The grumbling of my stomach made me think, it can be due to the fact that I hadn't eaten in a few hours, the last thing I had was a glass of Cola.

"Heaven, please sit down. You still have some rest" He persisted, the only person who did not even know me well was helping me. "It's not the rest that I need, I am hungry" Kyle's eyebrows rose up, he scratched his forehead, nodding at me and opening the door. "I can make you something" My lips parted, had he always been so kind? I wondered. Kyle really was something else.

Silently following him downstairs, I saw how silently he walked, with his eyes looking around every now and then. Reaching the kitchen, my stomach grumbled one more time and this time Kyle turned towards, probably he heard that too. A faint smile lingering on his lips which in turn made me smile. "What would you like to have" He rested his arms on the counter, gazing up at me. "You need not need to cook anything" I protested, he titled his head at me, opening his mouth to speak again. "That's the least I can do right now, don't want you fainting again, right?" As tempting it sounded to watch him while cooking, I didn't want to really bother him.

If Brittney would have been here, she would be squeaking in excitement, jumping up and down in the air. Now Kyle was resting his back against the kitchen counter, his intense eyes were still set on me. "I have some pasta in the cabinet, maybe we can have red sauce pasta" I suggested, I wouldn't lie that I wasn't craving any pasta. A smile adored his face yet again, it made my heart beat faster than ever.

I still remember the time when I first noticed him, sure I knew about it. The teachers wouldn't stop talking about him, he had always been an ideal student. One of his traits which I was jealous of at the start. It was the fact that he was one of my competitors, the more I heard about, the more irritated I got. "Let's do this'' Kyle said, turning towards the sink, opening the tap to wash his hands.

Drooling over him came later, after some months of scrunching my nose whenever he appeared in front of me and the jealous looks I threw at him, now thinking, I feel embarrassed. Nothing about was ever normal, he was a male specimen that never happened to raise his voice unless necessary, Kyle was a unique person altogether. "Are you listening?" My eyes zoomed back at him, his eyebrows frowned. Clearing my throat, I peeped into the container that was kept on the stove.

"You weren't listening. I asked where the pasta was'' Quickly enough, I pointed towards the upper left cabinet. Not glancing back at me for even one time, he was on to take the pasta. "Don't you want to go home?" I inquired, it was nearly ten in the night, he ducked his head towards me.  "Not before I feed you. My way to thank you" Generosity dripped from his mouth, he did not need to do any of this but still here he was. He simply could have returned the favour by leaving me on the bed.

I had taken a box of cookies from the top shelf to eat, not wanting to faint for one more time.

Jumping up on the counter, I sat some inches away from the stove, my legs dangling in the air. A constant smile was on my face. Kyle hadn't spoken anything about the message, not he showed any discomfort around me, he was just himself.

For the next few minutes, all he did was ask me where the different ingredients were and I pointed it to them. Maybe I could have helped him but then he was persistent in doing it by himself. A perfect human did not exist, was Kyle an expectation? His flaws were really deep hidden, I couldn't help but spot for me, finding none at the end.

"Taste this" Kyle took the spatula that he was using for stirring out, taking a spoon from the counter, dipping it inside the container. Then he went ahead to shove it inside my mouth, my tongue exploded with the taste, devouring the paste he made. "It's really good" I couldn't help but moan out slowly, it really tingled my taste buds. Seeing Kyle flushed was new to me. Dropping the boiled pasta into the container, I fixed my eyes on him.

If he could have seen me throughout this whole time, he would have ran away from here, away from me, feeling that I was a creep. "So, how did you plan to spend your two days here?" Kyle asked, his attention still at the pasta he stirred with the spatula. "I am going to ask my friends to sleepover" I bit the inside of my cheek, he made me nervous for no reason. Kyle nodded his head at me, the two plates he had set on the counter were now filled with pasta.

Kyle took hold of both the plates, exiting the kitchen. I jumped down the counter, making my way towards where he was, in the dining area. "Kyle, seriously, you did not need to do all this" Honestly, from the time he had been here, he was nothing but sweet to me all this time. I did bother him by fainting in front of him and on top of everything, he took effort to cook for me.

"There's no need to thank me again Heaven, if it had been someone else in your place, I would have done the same thing" He explained, from looking at his face, you could say he wasn't lying. Kyle had taken out the chair for me, gesturing for me to sit down first. A true gentleman indeed.

I no longer made him wait, sitting down on the chair, gazing up at him to give him a cheerful smile. He himself sat opposite to me, he no longer was wet, his hair looked dried now.

"It was a panic attack, wasn't it?" Kyle suddenly spoke, I wondered if he was curious to know.

With a slight nod I gave him, my eyes diverted from my food to my fingernails, it was still raining but I longer heard the thundering, much to my relief. When I ate my first bite, my eyes met Kyle's, he was staring at me with so much intensity that it made goosebumps rise on my skin.

Breaking the silence, his phone rang loudly, turning away from him, my cheeks reddened in embarrassment. Kyle excused himself, leaving me alone in a flustered state.
