I WAS WIDE AWAKE when I heard Kyle snoring from the other room.

I had glanced up at the watch to realize it was eight in the morning. It was still raining very heavily and at this point, I could see the water level rise in the ground. There was a layer of water out there, I sighed. Last night, before hitting the bed, I had talked to my parents, telling her about the situation here and they had wanted to come back but the flights weren't working for today and tommorrow. I did not mention Kyle being here with me, it would just make them tease me even more once they are back.

I did call Brittney and Aurelle after Kyle went to sleep in the other room. I could literally imagine them dancing with joy as they squealed out loud. I laughed imagining the way they teased me last night. Last night was incredible, I couldn't ask for a more perfect night.  My eyes scan my room, when Kyle had said he liked me too, I expected him to laugh at my face but he did not.

Kyle had looked serious and I was sure he meant what he said last night.  But after saying those words, he asked me for an extra blanket and also my permission to sleep in the otter room. Till then, he was gone. Maybe he had a lot on his mind and that's the reason he went away without saying a word.

I quickly get up from my bed, throwing my sheets away.  Making my way towards the washroom. I decided to wash my hair today, they were stinking, when I smelled them, the faint smell of my strawberry shampoo was still lingering there. I grab some clothes from my wardrobe after brushing my teeth.

I went with a white crop top and a pair of denim shorts, I contemplated on what to really wear but at the end of the day, I just wanted to wear what I was really comfortable in.

After a whole half an hour and two minutes, I came out of the washroom with a towel in my hand, rubbing my wet hair. My dark black hair was stuck to each other and I was cringing at the view of myself. "Were you never going to wake me up?" Kyle's voice made internally shriek, I was looking like a complete lunatic and he had to show up right now.

Kyle's eyes examined me, going from top to bottom, making me look down at myself to make sure there was nothing wrong with my attire. There was a bit of skin showing as the crop top rode up a bit. His eyes settled at my chest and I winded my eyes.

"Hey, my face is up here" That made Kyle somehow laugh, I narrowed my eyes at him.

"You know, you are too cute, don't you?" Kyle took some steps closer to me and I stayed glued to my place, a mischievous glint in his eyes. My heart beat increased, the kiss from last night started replying in my head and my cheeks immediately reddened.
"What did you mean by — I was driving you crazy for the past few days?" That particular question has been revolving around my head since yesterday but I did not want to ask him, though I was curious to know. Seeing his eyes dart down at my lips, one more time, I took a step backwards and he took slow steps towards me.

My breath hitched in my throat when Kyle placed his gentle arm on my wrist, bringing me closer. "I......I had a crush on you from the very start of junior year. I never made it obvious, it wasn't a big fat crush. But since last few weeks when, I saw you playing basketball with Aurelle and Ben. You seemed like a ball of sunshine and I was spellbound, it was like you waved a magic wand in the air and compelled me. I did not have the courage to talk to you. I observed you, but from a distance"

I was shook, hearing those words drop from his mouth was like knowing ghosts existed. How on the earth I wasn't aware that he had been staring at me since some past weeks. He never, ever made it evident that he had a crush on me, how could he do that? I on the other hand was almost sure that he had known I had a crush on him.

"So, you knew I liked you?"

"I heard rumors about that but then, they weren't trustworthy now, were they?" I shook my head at him.

Kyle rubbed his neck sheepishly, a grin on his face. His grip on my wrist loosened and he inched closer to my face. His morning breath reached my nose and I scrunched my nose at that. Kyle seemed to notice that he hasn't brushed his teeth yet, so he moved a bit away.

"God, I am so sorry. My breath stinks right now" Kyle exclaimed, running his fingers through his hair, the red hue on his cheeks evident.

"Hang on, I will give you a toothbrush" I entered the washroom to find one new brush. After rummaging through two cabinets, I found one in the third cabinet. With the toothbrush in my hand, I made my way into the room again.

Kyle was sitting on the corner of my bed, observing the room yet again. He kept on staring at that one photograph on the wall. That was a photograph of me and Jace, standing next to each other with arms around each other. It was taken eight years ago, my hair was a bit messy in that photo as I had been crying. That day I had fallen down while running, I clearly remembered the blood that dropped down from my knees.

"Hey, you alright?" Kyle asked and I simply nodded. Giving him a small smile while passing the toothbrush. He gave me a cheeky smile. It did not feel real at all, him and me. Were we moving too fast? I had thought but we both had a crush on each other and this was bound to happen one day or the other.

Kyle was now inside the washroom, brushing his teeth. I sat on the bed with my phone, glad that the internet connection was still working. There was a message from my mom, asking if everything was good at my side and I replied back with a yes, a smiley emoji attached.

And then my eyes fell on Kyle's phone which was kept some distance away on the bed, it was pinging constantly. I was just curious to know who it was but I did not go ahead and check his phone, that would be an invasion of privacy. I did not want to come out as a nosy girl who was just jealous because people were sending texts to my crush.

I could hear Kyle humming, he was singing a song I couldn't recognize. And when he started to sing more loudly and clearly, I was in complete awe of his beautiful voice. It was soothing to hear him singing. Like a lullaby to my ears, I closed my eyes as he continued to sing.

"Whoa, looks like you enjoyed me singing. Do I start my own mini concert here?" His voice snapped me back into reality and immediately blushed. No one made me ever feel this way. And it was a beautiful feeling. I tugged my hair strand behind, gazing down at my feet.

"Why do you blush so much? It weirdly turns me on. I feel like kissing"

"What are you waiting for then?" And with that, he smashed his lips onto mine.
