Jin gets a text in the morning, and he almost doesn’t read it.
“Pick me up from work.” it simply reads, but it’s from him.
From Yoongi.
Jin’s first reaction was to scream in pure happiness. It wasn’t much but Yoongi talked to him! Maybe he was going to get a chance to explain himself, and apologize and set things right and—
He stops himself.
What if the text wasn’t meant for him? Maybe Yoongi wanted to send that to a friend, and accidentally sent it to him?
How would he react if he just showed up at his work place if the message wasn’t for him?
What if he would get even more angry, and he would never get a chance to explain?
He thinks about it all day, can barely concentrate at work. It plagues him. He wants to go, he doesn’t get another message confirming it was a mistake, so he should go right?
But what if it’s wrong?!
Jin skillfully ignores his father’s text messages as he stares at Yoongi’s all day.
As if it was written in some ancient script he had to decipher.
He eventually confines into Jeon. The younger just sends him a smirk and encourages him to go, which has Jin grow even more unsure.
Did Jungkook know something he didn’t?
By the time he’s leaving work, there’s about two hours left until Sour Candy closes, so Jin goes home to change into something comfortable.
He will go see Yoongi! If he isn’t supposed to come, the younger boy would have corrected himself by now.
Jin looks through the wide array of presents he had collected over the past few days for Yoongi.
Like a pair of pretty earrings, or a pillow shaped like the head of a cat, or expensive fabrics for Yoongi’s dresses.
It’s a lot, and he doesn’t know which one to take with him. There’s a big chance Yoongi won’t even accept anything of this.
He decides on something small then, and pics the earrings. They’re nothing that special, but Jin had seen similar ones on Yoongi before, so he got them when he saw them in the store.
He hopes the younger would like them.
When he arrives at the café, it’s five minutes before closing time, so he waits.
At 9 pm, the last guests leave, and Jin hears them lock the door from inside, as they always do to clean up in peace.
He leans against the wall of the café. He’s been on edge all day, but now his heart is beating like crazy. He is nervous as he squeezes the small gift box in his hands.
He takes deep breaths, trying to calm himself, but nothing really works. He wasn’t even that nervous when he first started his job.
Yoongi is more important, more important than everything else.
Jin loves him dearly, he knows that much. Especially now after losing him.
