"...Onica."

Veronica felt her eyes slowly peel open, her blurry vision slowly becoming clear.

Who was Onica?

"Veronica."

She came to her senses and realized her name was being called.

It was Betty.

Betty was standing over her, shaking her shoulders, her eyes laced with worry.

"Betty...?"

Betty's face instantly brightened and she pulled the raven-haired girl into a tight hug. She felt strong arms wrap around her and realized Jughead and Archie were hugging her.

After a couple of minutes they released there hold and Veronica breathed in relief that her friends were still alive.

"What happened while I was out?"

Jughead grabbed her hand softly and said, "They injected us with something. They said and did the exact same things. But I'm not sure if they injected the same liquid into us. We were saved by my dad and some of his co-workers, but that person managed to get away."

Veronica looked around her, taking in her boyfriends words.

They were standing in some type of clinic.

"Were about to get our blood tested to see what was injected into us."  Archie spoke, his voice with evident worry.

Veronica jumped at those words, but felt her heart deflate when she heard Betty's annoyed and tired words.

"They say that they don't have enough material to do that, so were going to be having the scan happen next week."

Veronica could feel her own increasing worry.

Next week? By then whatever toxin had been implanted in her body could severely poison her.

As she got strung up into her thoughts, a familiar clacking of high-heels unwrapped her from her mind.

"Veronica!" A mob of red hair was seen and before she could act she was being pulled into a hug.

"I knew something was up when you didn't show up for school for two whole days."

Toni's soft voice made Veronica pale.

They had been knocked out for the remainder of the day and another day?

Cheryl released the girl from her bone-crushing hug and softly gripped her girlfriends hand.

"Thank god all of you are safe."

"Yes, thank god indeed." Veronica quipped, her face still wide with shock.

Cheryl offered a soft smile and then turned on her heel with her attitude intact.

"See you later."

Veronica rolled her eyes.

"I'm glad you are all okay."

It was Veronica's dad.

Veronica set aside her rivalry and gave her dad an awkward hug.

Pulling apart, she set her eyes on her group.

Tomorrow was going to be a long day.
