Veronica felt quite anxious, the new facts repeating in her brain.

So much for a normal school year  she thought dryly as she sat at lunch with her friends.

The minute she sat down at the table it had become obvious that they were waiting for her.

"Veronica!" Betty smiled and stabbed her fork into a pile of peas. Her lips curled up in disgust as she forced herself to eat.

Veronica smiled and sat next to Jughead, who was playing with his salad. Archie stared weirdly at his Cantaloupe and Veronica resisted the urge to spit on her cauliflower.

Anybody watching from afar would have thought that Veronica's presence itself fueled them, because the minute she set her tray down they went into action.

"I think we should have this conversation in a place where there aren't hundreds of people here that could just so happen to stumble behind us and hear the whole thing." Jughead said as if they were already talking before she walked by.

"Jughead, we might not have time later." Archie spoke, "It's best we just resolve the issue now." He held the ends of his jacket and nodded.

Jughead gave a reluctant sigh, but joined the discussion.

"Fine then, but if anybody listens to us it's on you." Betty nodded and then looked over to Veronica.

"Something weird happened to Arch." Betty confessed, putting a helpful hand on his shoulder

Veronica tilted her head, noticing the intense worried look on the teens face.

"What weird?" Veronica asked for specification, in Riverdale, a lot of things were considered weird, but over time became normal to everyone.

"Well..." Archie began.
