A Dream Of Heaven

Out of this forest of wandering souls

Dark, cold and grown high

One by one we climb up the stairs

Of the ladder, till we see the sky

There in our minds we remember the blue

Spread with clouds of pure white

This we hold on to, so we won't give up

Till we finally reach the sky

As we look down there's chaos and voilence

Where once layed a land so bright

Tried so hard to fix it and overcome this

But darkness has killed the light

The silhouettes fade and the noise subsides

The air is peaceful and clear

All of the screaming, fighting and suffering

Up here it seems to disappear

But after a while of searching for ground

It's clear there's none to find

No way to stay here and hold on to heaven

For heaven's just a place in our mind

So back to this forest of wandering souls

Straight into darkness we fell

With a dream of heaven shattered and torn

No longer under a spell

There's no escape from the hell we've created

Not till we leave for good

And it's the price we all have to pay for

Ignoring words of wisdom misunderstood
