River from my eyes

A burdon lies upon my cheast

Which makes it hard to breathe

A nameless pain, received long ago

The silence seemed to be a friend

But it betrayed me heavily

A scream released brought comfort, so

I learnt to listen dearly

I learnt to look beyond

I learnt to pay attention

To my heart and what it wants

Long have I waited

For the freedom to cry

And there it appears

The river from my eyes

The wound on my broken will

Is finally healing, left is a scar

But I wear this one with pride

I won't forget the time it took

To regain my inner strength

It was a long and bumpy ride

I learnt to love myself

I learnt to hold me close

I learnt to comfort me

And satisfy my abandoned soul

Long have I waited

For the freedom to cry

And there it appears

The river from my eyes
