Gamma Pi Delta frat house was an old red brick building that had once been a dormitory on campus, that was before newer ones were built after students complained of the distance from it to the main campus, the building had been abandoned then later sold to the first founders of the fraternity. Under their ownership, it had been worked on, although, it would never stop looking like a medieval castle that monsters lived in and for a long time, it had been whispered that it was haunted.

The idea of monsters wasn't far fetched, not all monsters had teeth and horns after all. Some of them wore Valentino and Gucci.

Gamma Pi Delta Halloween party wasn't until the next night, but it was hardly surprising that music pulsed and echoed from the inside, there were half drunk people littering the driveway and Kylie saw one particularly drunk boy scream at the skeleton that was half buried in the grass.

They'd really outdone themselves this year with their decorations, the fake skeletons adorning the driveway up to the fake cobwebs hanging above the open door.

Kylie might have been impressed, might have even felt bad that her arrival was only going to cause chaos, but anything that had to do with GPD only made her blood boil.

Kylie parked her truck haphazardly across the street and without killing the engine, she hopped right out of the front seat, baseball bat in her grip. She'd been hurrying to cheer practice from the library when she'd gotten the text from Mariam. A single picture was the content, a picture of her front door and the degrading message painted on it, bright red under the lights of the porch.

She'd always had her suspicions about the masterminds behind Mariam's attacks but now, there was enough evidence to point accusing fingers. She was tired of GPD and their cat and mouse game. It wouldn't be the first time they'd decided to pick a cheerleader as their game, and it had started in freshman year, when then Cheer Captain, Cara had slept with one of the boys and later had her nudes leaked without her permission.

Because Cara hadn't been a minor, there wasn't anything that could be done, and it was hard to trace the leak back to her stupid ex. The poor girl had still tried, she took all chances to bash their reputation even after being called a slut time and time, it had gotten so bad that she ended up transferring to a different university. The whole drama had eventually gotten swept under the rug, until something similar happened with Mariam two months ago.

As Kylie made to cross the street, a familiar silver Toyota screeched to a halt in front of her, she wasn't surprised when five other cheerleaders climbed out of the vehicle.

"Good, you're here, you saw Mariam's text then?" Sita asked, she was the tallest girl on the cheer team and Kylie knew that she also fought Judo leisurely. Everyone on the team always wanted the Indian girl on their team during a girls' night out, she was their unofficial bodyguard.

The girls were wearing their cheer uniforms, cobalt blue skirt and a white tank top that had the university's initials in blue block letters. Kylie winced, knowing that they were probably on their way to practice when they got Mariam's text. Coach would be furious, but by now, she was used to their 'superhero' disappearances.

"Bloody GPD," Andria muttered, if anyone hated GPD the most, then it was Dria, after all, she was the sister of Cara. The other girls spat out insults of their own.

"What do you want us to do?" Sita asked, she was a fairly newer member of the cheer team and Kylie knew she was a transfer student from America, she still spoke in that accent even if it had been two years since she transferred.

"We're going to go in there, and we're going to fuck up their fancy party."

The music switched to Thriller by Michael Jackson as they stepped in and their destruction began with the little things, one of the girls had brought a pack of new sanitary pads and with them, they clogged the toilets, not before they drenched them in ketchup.

Kylie smashed the mirrors and left open closed cupboards. It was funny, because when they stepped in, everyone thought their uniforms as Halloween costumes. Kylie wanted to tell them that the whole "slutty cheerleader" costume was overdone and frankly, degrading.

"Slutty cheerleaders!" One boy had hollered when he noticed them.

As she wreacked havoc, Kylie knew that it wouldn't do anything but cause minor inconvenience the boys, they'd just wave their hands and command the newer pledges to clean it up. It made her madder.

Why did men never truly pay for their sins?

Mariam had been another of their games. Just two months ago, the president that had tormented Cara had finally graduated, after failing and failing for years — the rumours said he'd grown tired of playing student do he'd bought his way out — and it had been exactly a year since the incident with Cara, he'd thought it funny to do a throwback, a reenactment of it. Mariam had been fresh prey, a freshman and new to Howard University and  he'd reached out to her under a false alias, he'd been her friend, she'd liked him. When the prey was well baited, he'd invited her to his party then he'd drugged her.

Mariam had never fully told the story, never said to what extents he'd hurt her but she made it clear that when she woke, she'd been wearing nothing. Two days later, she was branded Howard University's newest slut.

To save face, she decided not to report it, hoping that it would go away. Two months later, he was gone and she was still his victim.

Kylie took a swing of her bat at the last mirror in the hallway. Exhausted, she let the bat fall to the floor with a thud and headed back downstairs where the party was still in full swing. It seemed like the whole cheer squad had arrived and she spotted one familiar blonde haired boy blocking the path of an irritated looking cheerleader.

Kylie narrowed her eyes but a smile soon bloomed on her lips when the girl pushed past him rudely. She watched the proud look on Austin's face turn sour, with a plan in mind, she headed into the adjoining kitchen and picked up a cup of punch.

When she returned, he was already trying his stupid skills on another girl. Walking to where they stood, she forced a smile.

"I don't think Austin's told you of his little dick yet," She announced loudly above the music. The girl's jaw dropped and she looked from Austin to Kylie.

"Don't be clingy, Almond," Austin said through gritted teeth. "All you have to is ask and I'll be glad to take you back." Almond, that was the name he'd taken to calling her after their breakup because she was Asian.

Kylie smiled, she ignored the racist nickname and turned to the gaping girl. "He's a cheater and a liar, you'd be better off sleeping with trash," She said.

The girl spluttered something and scurried away.

Austin was smirking when she looked back him. When he reached for her waist, she batted his hand away, with a final sneer at him, she splashed her drink on his jersey and without awaiting any response, she sashayed away, spotting Sita at the door.

He could try to come after her. But the last time he'd tried, Sita had kicked his family jewels hard, so hard that he'd limped for a week straight.

"You seen Malcom yet?" Sita asked.

"Everyone knows Floyd rarely attends his own parties, he'll be here tomorrow though." Andria said from behind them. She linked their arms with hers.

Malcom Floyd, GPD's new president, he was as bad as the rest of them. Just weeks ago, countless sexual harassment allegations came out against him and Fiye dumped him, he hadn't been really seen since then around campus but with someone like Malcom, he was always planning something. Halloween seemed like the best time to execute it, especially since it was also the same night when the fraternity would haze new pledges.

"Are all the girls accounted for?" Kylie asked as she walked out with Andria and Sita.

"Yeah, we did a head count, captain." Sita said with a nudge at Kylie. The team had been short of a captain since Cara, Kylie had been acting captain but it wasn't an official declaration. Today's practice was supposed to be the official announcement of a new one. Coach would be furious.

Andria echoed the sentiment aloud.

"Where to now?" Sita asked.

"Mariam's place, then we're going to get ice cream."

But Kylie was still thinking of Halloween tomorrow, how easy it would be to kill someone and get away with it.
