Three hours earlier. . .
"How do we get rid of the body?"

Fiye hated the smell of rain. There was probably some page on Tumblr dedicated to fawning over that beautiful natural smell of the rain hitting the earth. But Fiye didn't, in fact, she hated the rain, it was one of the things she didn't like about England. It wasn't the rain she didn't exactly like but when the news of her father's death had reached her three years ago, it had been raining.
And at the funeral, everyone spoke of how the accident could have avoided if it hadn't been raining, the road had been slick from the rain, and her father took the bend too quick, colliding an incoming truck. If the rain hadn't been so loud, if it hadn't rained at all.
Being in England reminded her of that day all too well, to the extent that she'd come to associate the rain with gloomy moods and evil omens.
When it became clear that the rain wouldn't stop anything soon, Fiye stood and gathered her textbooks in her arms. She looked back at the counter and waved a goodbye to the sweet older woman who owned the cafe. She shrugged on her overcoat and tucked the books into her backpack.
Then she walked out, sticking solely to the sidewalk even though the street was empty, only bicycles were allowed on the roads. This side of town was mostly made of bookshops, pubs and cafes, students usually came to this side to read or hangout. Already, some of the bookshops had their doors closed and the pubs had their lights on, people dressed in tacky costumes stumbled through the wide doors.
Fiye knew they were all gearing up for the university soccer match tonight, probably looking for the free cheap drinks the pubs served in honor the match. Howard University was big on sports, especially soccer, even though only few of their players actually went on to be professional sports people.
She cursed as the drizzle turned into a heavy shower. Her hair would be too wet to style before tonight's match, already most of the cheerleaders would be dressed and warming up in the stadium, Fiye should have been with them, but she was a engineering major and her stint in rehab had left her far behind in the coursework. She was glad that her sisters were being considerate but ever since her return she felt left out of the team, everyone were being so considerate that they never included her in anything anymore.
Fiye hissed as the rain returned to a drizzle, she slowed her hurried steps and was walking past a pub when she heard her name. When she turned to answer the call, she instantly regretted her decision.
It was Willa, her ex boyfriend's ex girlfriend. Willa was one of the first friends Fiye had had when she first arrived at Howard and they had been friends up to when Fiye had started dating Mal, months ago. Fiye thought it was because Willa was jealous, but it turned out that Mal had been dating both girls at the same time.
"Willa." Fiye greeted tightly.
"Look at you, you look well." Willa said, there was a hint of disappointment in her tone as if she'd expected the opposite.
"As do you," Fiye returned the false compliment.
"I heard you returned back to your country," Willa said, her stress on the words made it clear she thought Fiye would never belong in Howard, in England. "Africa must be a really good place,"
Fiye sighed, it was the pseudo racist insults that got to her the most. She didn't like that Willa was deliberately being ignorant. When they'd had their big fight, Willa had hurled every insult she could think off that Fiye, if she knew that Fiye had been battling an eating disorder, she would have used that too. But she knew very little, so her insults were based of appearances, things that Fiye had stopped caring about a long time. Willa then resorted to racist attacks.
"Look, Willa, you hate me. That's fine," Fiye said. "I don't care if you do, but please, stop being racist, it's embarrassing and stupid. We don't have to be friends, hell, we can be enemies, but you can hate me from afar."
Willa flinched and tried to play nonchalant by stroking the side of her wet blonde hair.
"I promise, it won't make a difference."

The worst part about cheering for the soccer players was that some of the frat boys were players on the team and they made it a thing to smirk over at the cheerleaders during cheer routines. It was especially unbearable tonight because the Malcolm Floyd was present.
He was captain and as the team piled out from the locker rooms, he looked up at the lower seats in the bleachers to smirk right at Kylie. It was only the sudden crack of thunder above the cheers of the whole stadium that made him look away and this time, it was Kylie's turn to smirk because she knew for a fact that Malcolm Floyd was afraid of thunder.
She turned to Mariam who was holding her pom poms tightly, raising them to her face as if it would stop him from spotting her. Fiye was on her right, seemingly lost in her own thoughts.
"We'll talk to him when it's over, I swear, this comes to an end tonight."

"No," He said
Kylie was taken aback. She'd just explained to Malcom how his foolish pranks affected Mariam's mental health but he was just smiling up at her as if he knew a secret she didn't. If it were up to her, she'd kill him and stuff his body somewhere but she'd hoped that his win would butter him up, that he'd be feeling graceful after. He was, but not graceful enough to stop being a dick and tonight, he'd head back to his mansion to party and crown himself king.
Kylie took a step forward. Malcom chuckled, he whistled and several of his teammates gathered around him in the locker room. Kylie's eyes darted around them.
"It's just a harmless prank, don't be such a wet blanket," Austin said with his crooked grin. She couldn't believe she'd once liked that smile.
"A harmless prank is . . ." hurting her. She wanted to add, but there was the sudden realization that no matter what she did or said, their minds were made up. None of them cared about one girl who was suffering from their attacks. She wouldn't give them the joy of knowing how hurt Mariam was.
She took a step back, pointed a shaky finger and said.
"I swear it, I'll kill all of you."

Now,
The clap of thunder echoed in the room, followed by a quick mocking flash of lightning. He jumped and then swore.
Glancing down at the girl lying in a pool of her own vomit, he spat.
"Burn it, get rid of this shit," He said.
