What was this woman thinking? I don't believe she was thinking at all. The freaking man is old enough to be her son and here she is marrying the bastard and having his child! My God, she is beyond ridiculous. I don't mind her having a child, but at least be with a man who is somewhere close in age with you. After receiving the call from Connor and my mom about her "wonderful" news, I froze and didn't say anything. Immediately I ended the call, turned off my phone, and shoved it into my pocket.

I slowly made my way back into the room with everyone. My day was fine until that woman destroyed it with her news. When I reached the room, Mrs. Avery was unhooking Niklaus from his treatment. We said our goodbyes and headed toward the elevator. It was silent on the way down and Klaus kept a watchful eye on me. We pulled out of the parking lot and headed toward Niklaus' house.

"What's wrong with you?" Niklaus bluntly asked.

"I don't want to talk about." I dismissed him. Being Niklaus, he was persistent and the more I turned him down the more upset he became. After declining to talk about my issue several times, we began to argue.

"Niklaus, I am not in the mood to argue and you are in no condition to do so either, so please just stop!" At that moment, I pulled into the driveway of his house.

Without saying a single word, Niklaus steps out of the car trudging toward the house. I hurriedly get out of the car to help him inside. Neither of his parents was home and I didn't feel comfortable leaving him here by himself. He didn't have the energy to walk up the stairs, so he went to the living room and lied on the couch. I hate seeing him so weak. It feels like just yesterday I met him.

I was walking with Cassie to class when we, Niklaus and I, locked eyes passing each other. Back then, he was dating some girl from the dance team. From what I heard, he never discriminated when it came to girls. I bowed my head to break the intense stare we had created. It felt like my entire face was on fire. Since then everything else was history. He broke up with his girlfriend, we started going on dates, and then we became a couple and so on so forth.

This Niklaus lying before me was not the same person. No matter what though I'll always love him. We may argue and have our differences, but that's what makes us love each other more. All of those arguments and fights that have occurred between us make our relationship stronger and that much more unbreakable.

By the time I came out of my daydreaming, Niklaus was sleeping. I went and laid in the recliner and nodded off myself. About 2 hours later, I awoke to the blaring of the T.V. sleepily; I rubbed my eyes and scanned the room. My eyes landed on Klaus and then toward the clock on the wall; it was past nine. I slowly sat up in the recliner which caught the attention of Niklaus and his parents who I didn't notice sitting in the dining room.

"Hey there gorgeous," said Niklaus' mom from the dining room. "How did you sleep?"

"Like a baby. This recliner is magic." I said while rubbing the arm of the recliner.

"Usually I don't like people sitting in my recliner, but you're an exception," Niklaus' dad said with a wide grin on his face. He was always in a cheery mood. He considered me the daughter he never had. When I saw him at the grocery store when Niklaus and I had broken up, he told me no matter what I'd always be his daughter and welcomed in his home. That made me feel extremely happy that my relationship with his son didn't affect his and I's relationship.

"I believe I need to make my way home." I began making my way to the door to put on my shoes. Footsteps sounded behind me and soon after a pair of slender, yet muscled arms wrapped themselves around my waist, pulling me into a strong chest. Automatically I knew it was Niklaus. Inhaling his scent was heavenly. Shutting my eyes, I settled into his embrace. He placed feather light kisses along the side of my face causing me to turn in his hold and full on kiss him.

The kisses started as little pecks, but quickly became fiery. There was a sudden urgency in our kisses, the way we were grasping at each other as if it was our last day seeing one another. I pulled away breathless taking a step back to gather myself as well as straighten my clothes. Our breaths coming out heavy. I looked up from the floor and into his eyes, which held so much passion and raw emotion.

I walked toward him and wrapped my arms around his waist. "I'm sorry about earlier. What my mom told me sent me over edge," it took me a minute to debate with myself if I should tell him. Finally I did, "She's pregnant and getting married." The look on Niklaus' face was a mix of shock and disbelief. Like me, he thought my mom was going through a phase of being with a younger man, but her becoming pregnant and marrying Connor proved both of us wrong.

"Wow," was all he could say.

"Yeah, I was speechless when she told me. I was hoping this thing she has with Connor would have passed, but I guess not." I said. "I better get home. I hung up on her after she told me. She's more likely furious at the moment." We shared one last kiss.

"Don't forget about the party." He told me.

"Of course. Can't we just hang out? We don't have to go the party and I'm quite sure you don't need to be there."

"For the last time we're going and I already agreed to your terms, so be here at 9 tomorrow."

"Okay," he pecked my lips and I made my way to my car. I wasn't in a rush to go home, so I thought I'd stop by the store and buy some Dill Pickle Lay's chips. Those chips were the best and my newly found favorite.

Luckily, the store wasn't packed at this time of night. I leisurely made my way out of my car and into the store. The clerk greeted me as I walked inside. I made a beeline to the aisle with the chips. As soon as I arrived to the chip aisle, the last person I expected to see stood there with a bag of Dill Pickle Lay's. I quickly went two aisles over to avoid seeing him.

"You know I saw you already, right?" He said.

I kept quiet hoping he wasn't referring to me. I was crouched on the floor until his feet came into my line of vision. I slowly looked up toward his face with a stupid grin on my face. I quickly looked down as if I were looking for something and just my luck a penny lay right beside me.

"There you are you silly penny. Gosh," I picked the penny up and shoved it into my pocket. "Hey Doctor Smith. What brings you to the store?"

He held up a box of a dozen of Dunkin' Donuts. "Donut run. What about you?"

"It's a little late for donuts and I'm on my way home. I had a taste for some Dill Pickle Lay's chips. I better get going though." I all but ran to the counter to check out. That Aiden makes me feel uneasy in a good way. I shouldn't feel that way around him especially since I'm with Niklaus. I just met the man today too, which makes everything weird.

I won't lie and say Doctor Smith isn't good-looking. The man is freaking drool worthy with his sculpted jaw, pools of brown chocolate they call eyes, and that accent is can make any woman and possibly man aroused. There is no doubt he has a chiseled...snap out of it! You are going off the deep end! I need to hurry home and get my mind off that god of a man.

I'm quite sure my mom could help me with that.
