I frantically write down what is on the board. The teacher asks if we got everything, but before I can say anything he has already grabbed the eraser.
I huff and put my head on my hands. I take a deep breath before lifting my head. Our teacher continues explaining today's lesson. I take notes on the things that seem important. That quickly becomes stressful though as everything seems that way.
My sloppy handwriting fills the page and I already know future me is going to hate present me for my careless note taking methods. Nobody else in the class is struggling like me.
The bell rings and my shoulders release all the build up tension. Our teacher gathers his things and walks out. I close my notebook shut and shove it in my backpack. I swing it on my back and make my way to the door.
"We should eat first. I won't survive all the walking around on an empty stomach." Serena tells the rest of the girls. They are all standing in the doorway, so my ears pick up the conversation.
"Oh are you guys going somewhere?" I say. The chatter stops as they all look my way.
"Yea, we are going to the mall," Serena lets out a forced laugh. "You didn't know?!" She suddenly acts surprised. I shake my head, clueless of the plan.
"I must have forgotten. Do you want to come?" I'm happy she asked me. It's been a while since we all went out.
I glance at the other girls, but none of them look at me in the eye. My smile falls. They don't want me to join.
"Nah, actually I'm behind on homework. Thanks anyway!" I say and leave.
I know they didn't forget to invite me. It was clear. Sometimes you just click with a person and unfortunately, I didn't click with any of them. Even Serena, who is always nice to me, probably doesn't consider me as her friend.
I would like to have friends. Laugh and have fun with them.

I open the front door to my house, take off my shoes and head upstairs to my room. I drop my bag in the corner and throw myself on the bed.
In a matter of seconds a heavy body jumps on top of me.
"Get off me you pig!" I shout, laughing at the same time. June takes her sweet time getting off.
"You don't deserve my love." She sits on my bed with a pout on her face. "And I'm not fat." She says, poking at her stomach, which is about the same as mine.
"Keep telling yourself that." I laugh. June gasps and puts her hand on her heart. Her body drops dramatically on the bed and she sticks out her tongue, playing dead.
"Don't act like a baby, you are literally four years older than me." She opens her eyes and glares at me.
"You shouldn't keep mentioning someone's age so much, dear Lilith. You aren't getting any younger either."
