Chapter 3 - Earth

It had been a few days since the Triwizard Tournament had been announced and the attempt to break the charm around the Goblet had been unsuccessful. There was a trick into the charm that she needed to find but there was not a single loophole. It had to be something out of potions and out of herbs in general that she needed to try but nothing was coming to her head. Professor Snape's Potion class had just begun; he walked in with his wand at hand closing all of the windows at the same time with a small swish. Rizzo sat at the back of the class, not because she did not want to be in the front but according to Severus she already knew to much about potions at such a young age.

The first years needed to sit in the front while the other years sat back, being a mixed class it had its perks. Rizzo looked up, Harry and Ron were sitting in the table in front mumbling about Merlin knows what. They were worst than teenage girls, they gossiped so much it was unreal. A light tap was felt on her right shoulder and looking up was first things first, a Gryffindor with a brand new robe, and a new uniform, but old enough to be in her year. She had to be knew, she had never seen her before. Her long black and highlighted wavy curls sat on her shoulder; and bangs right before her eyebrows. " Do you mind if I sit next to you? There is no other seat available next to a girl. .", she spoke in a low tone trying not to interrupt Snape as he was getting out the supplies for the class. Rizzo shook her head, and moved her supplies closer to her, giving the new girl more space on the desk. " My name is Lucia Marigold Kennedy, Gryffindor by the way. It is nice to meet you." Smiling at the girl, as she seemed so generous she introduced herself as well. " It is a pleasure Lucia, I am Rizzo Bailey King, Slytherin by the way", Rizzo mocked her in a friendly tone before hearing Snape explaining the instructions for the days assignment.

Snape gave the task to recreate the Dreamless Sleep Potion, which makes the person that takes it drowsy and sleepy but once they fall asleep they are not able to dream. This potion was very easy for her to make, as it was what she used to sleep every night; every Sunday she would brew it so it was enough for an entire week. Reeney, her house elf is the one that introduced her to the potion once she was eleven, which was when her powers started to become stronger. With the potion was the only way she could sleep peacefully, as told that when one sleeps is when your mind is the weakest; as a kid Rizzo would dream of her becoming a Death Eater like her parents. The only way that Voldemort could reach her was by her dreams or as it was better to call them nightmares. He would come to her as in form of a large snake, fangs that sticked out of the reptiles mouth and venom that dripped from its teeth without a single bite. The venom burned through the ground as it created a hole into the earth and every time the drops fell a scream of agony creeped into her ears. It was painful to bear, as the screams cried for help.

That was it! That is what Rizzo needed to do was transfigure into a snake, which at her age 16 years in snake is 108 years old. An animal can easily cross break the charm and the age was no problem, just sneakily put her name into the Goblet. Now to needing to find out how to transfigure into a snake, that was the part that needed to be figured out and going to the library after class was the way to go.

"Rizzo. . Do you think you can help me? ", Lucia's voice had brought her back into reality as she was facing her looking a bit confused with the ingredients that were in front of her. " It is just that you are already finished with yours and I cannot seem to get past the fourth step without messing it up somehow." Rizzo looked at her potion that was looking rather blueish than the purple colour that it was supposed to be. " All right lets see here, did you get the honey-water to a simmer? Then you place Sopophorous Bean into the cauldron whole, leaving to simmer. .", She mumbled while reading the instructions out loud to her while she marked of everything that she had done. " Yes I did that. . okay I also let the skin of the bean begin to wrinkle and break, removed it from cauldron with a strainer", responded Lucia while looking up at Rizzo. " Okay so now you need tie the stalks of Lavender and Chamomile together with a silk thread and place into the cauldron." Lucia began to tie the stalks together and threw the herbs in it then coarsely chop the Moly plants and scatter into the cauldron. . and then stir seven times clockwise before removing from the heat and then it should turn purple." Rizzo watched as she finished reading the instructions and Lucia's potions had worked perfectly and all it needed to do was cool down before it could be transferred into a bottle. " Thank you! I guess I was not tying up the herbs which is where I messed up."

Rizzo strugge it off as it was nothing before looking forward as he saw Harry looking back at Lucia, she raised an eyebrow looking back at her. Well someone already caught Harry's attention, definitely fancying her of course. Her lips turned into a small smile and whispered at Lucia to look up and once she did Harry quickly turned around noticing his cheeks turning red as both girls giggled and heard Snape snapping at them. "Ladies, if you are to laugh in this class one more time. You will be sent to Dumbledore. King, I expect more from you."

Lucia and Rizzo had been chatting it up since the Potions class, slowly getting to know each other. Noticing how they both had a lot in common then what it seemed, they both enjoyed reading, listening to music and spending hours on end at the library getting in lost in books.

Draco called out Rizzo's name, making her turn around as the voice was not unusual for her causing her to give him a small smile. The blonde walked up to her before looking at Lucia with a small smug on his face, " Oi, hanging with a Gryffindor? Did summer make you soft? You know that your parents would flip if they found out." Rizzo got taken back by his sudden comment which made her chuckle before lifting up her wand up to his face in a playful but also threaning manner. "Do not ever say those words to me again Malfoy, do you understand? There is nothing wrong with befriending other houses but of course you only like to act so tough around your stupid friends that you forget how to respect us woman. ", She spoke with her teeth clenched stepping back and bring her wand down to her side to look at Lucia who was definitely surprised but none the less happy with the response given which she spoke. "Malfoy is it? My name is Lucia Marigold Kennedy, not Gryffindor. Get it right next time we meet.

Rizzo's mouth fell open but in happiness in the way Lucia has responded, if that bonding moment did not solidify their acquaintance, she did not know what would. No matter how she felt about Draco, she would never let him disrespect her or any woman at her presence. As she was not his mother, or any woman in his family that was always talked too. Draco furrowed his eyebrows, glaring at Rizzo as he completely disregarded Lucia eye contact. " We will see for next time, Kennedy and as for you. . We will see about that." His tone was bitter and monotone before walking away as Crabbe and Goyle followed after him like lost puppies.

"That was awesome and so sassy! I am living for it, are you sure you are not sorted into the wrong house? Also would you be interested into going to the library with me? I need to go some research.", questioned Rizzo as she laughed, Lucia's laugh following hers as well. "Sometimes I question it, trust me and of course I would!".

This was most definite going to be a year full of excitement.
