At School Simon's POV

The bell rang for lunch break. I was planning to meet Jeanette outside so we can eat our lunch together. Until Oliver came over and wanted to hang out.

Oliver: Simon!

Simon: Hi Oliver

Oliver: Are you busy? I wanted to hang out with you. It's been long since the last time we did.

Simon: Um I actually had plans with-

Oliver: Seriously? We haven't gotten time to even spend 5 minutes. Who can be more important than your best friend?!

Simon: you're right, I'm sorry. Just give me a few minutes to call someone

I knew Jeanette was waiting for me. I felt bad for canceling our plans at the last minute. But Oliver was right, we haven't been spending time together. I can't Think of the last time we hung out together.

There, I just texted jeanette that something came up and that I couldn't make it. She seems to understand. I'll make it up to her later.

Simon: Alright, let's go

Oliver: Awesome, let's go somewhere more private

Simon: Sure

Until a thought clicked my mind the day I eavesdropped on Jeanette and Oliver. Could it be that he knows. We were walking to the same bench they sat on that day, the thought is making me more anxious every step of the way.

Oliver: let's sit here

Simon: s-sure

Oliver: I just wanted to ask a question

Simon: A-alright go ahead

At this point my heart rate was going to explode.

Oliver: Have you asked anyone to the dance yet?

I let out a sigh in relief, knowing that he doesn't know.

Simon: um ya I have

Oliver: REALLY?! Lucky, I'm going to ask someone too. I hope they go with me. Who'd you ask?

Simon: Jeanette

I said confidently, to show him that she's already taken.

Oliver: Oh, are you sure she didn't say yes just to make you happy

Simon: what do mean?

Oliver: Well I hate to break it to you but Jeanette is really kind and she wouldn't want anyone to feel bad. Don't you think that she just said yes to you so you don't feel bad.

Simon: oh..I never thought of it that way

Oliver: I don't expect you to believe that but it seems true.

He's right, Jeanette is really sweet, so did she just say yes to make me happy? Does she really not love me? Was she faking this whole thing? All these thoughts came to my mind.

Oliver: Anyway, It's almost time for class. I'll see you around.

Simon: Right, see you

My stomach felt weird. I don't feel good. I felt like something stabbed me in the heart.

I really like Jeanette, I don't want to believe that she doesn't like me.

What should I do?
