Chapter Three (Jamie)
I hate sleeping. I know, it's the weirdest sentence a teenager could ever say besides "I'm not hungry", but if you'll ever experience the nightmares I have every night -I wish you wouldn't- with no exceptions, you would get me. Every nightmare is like a sequel to the previous one, it gets more terrifying and traumatising every night. That's why I don't sleep much, I stay awake with energy drinks, caffeine and well… other things. I try my hardest to sleep as less as possible, just so that the nightmares won't be as long as usual. I don't remember a night where I went to bed and didn't wake up sweaty, shaky and scared. The worst part about it is, that the nightmares make sense. It's not like I'm dreaming of a fantasy world with people I've never met, they're actually in places and with people I know. There is one person though that always arrives right before I wake up, and I have no idea who he is. He's dressed completely in black, and looks about my age. He always shouts: "Wake up! Wake up!" until I do. No one knows about these nightmares besides me, Viola and now whoever will find this journal. Damn, I promised myself I wouldn't be all emotional in this journal…
The only reason Viola knows about these nightmares is because she sometimes hears me scream in the middle of the night, and there was nothing I could make up that would make sense so I just told her.
So I woke up, took a shower and started to get ready for school. I went downstairs and saw my sister eating her cereal, she looked at me and said: "You were screaming again".
"Good morning to you too", I said and grabbed an apple from the fridge.
"You should really get help ", Viola continued.
"And you should really stop wearing pink", I snapped at her. Between you and I, she really was wearing too much pink that day.
"Pink is happy, black is depressing", she said while pointing at my outfit.
"Pink is childish, black is elegant", I said and she didn't respond. She knows she can't beat me even if she tries.
I ate my apple and left to school on my bike. I love riding early in the morning, the air is still fresh and it's really quiet outside.
I arrived and went to my usual parking spot, everyone in the entire school knew this was my spot to park my bike. Even when there are no parking spots left, no one dares to park there. I almost crashed when I noticed at the last second…" Someone took my spot!", I yelled trying to find the guilty person who did this.
"Who had the guts to park their fucking bike in my spot?!", I kept screaming. No one dared to respond. I took my phone out of my pocket and texted the group to come to where I am.
"Do you know whose it is?", Angelo asked in shock. I shook my head and said no.
"Don't worry, you're about to", Dark said with a very angry look on her face. "When someone messes with one of us, they mess with all of us", is what she always says.
We looked at the license plate and entered school.
"So, how are we going to do this?", Julian asked.
"Just follow me", Dark said and entered the secretary's office.
"Good morning Miss Riley!", Dark said with a way too happy voice. It was so creepy.
"Good morning Dawn, how can I help you?", Miss Riley asked.
"I just came here to say that Principal Dickens is looking for you, he said something about an urgent matter…", Dark said and Miss Riley immediately stood up and ran to the principal's office while shouting: "Thank you, Dawn!". Everyone in this school knows that Miss Riley has a soft spot for the principal, so Dark saying that was perfect.
