Viola went to her father's today and is going to spend the night there. That means that Jamie and I will be the only people in the house, without anyone to calm us down. Should be interesting, and by interesting I mean terrifying.
I left work at around 6 p.m., and when I got home Jamie wasn't there (what a surprise). This time I decided to make an effort and actually call her to ask where she is, instead of waiting at home not knowing when she'll come home and if she's even alive.
I waited for her to answer, and right when I decided to give up because she wasn't answering she did.
"What?!", she asked annoyed.
"Don't you think you should've told me that you weren't coming home after school?", I asked.
"Since when do you care?"
"You're my daughter, of course I care", I said and she hung up. Luckily I was able to her Dawn (Dark, whatever) shout in the background: "Jamie, come here the water is great!", so I knew she was at Liberty's.
After preparing dinner and realising there was absolutely nothing to watch on TV, I decided I'd call my parents. Since Viola wasn't home and neither was Jamie I had no one to talk to so I dialled their number and very quickly my mother shouted: "Dylan!".
"Hi mother", I said while after removing the phone from my ear.
"How are you?", she asked.
"I'm good, thanks. How are you and dad?"
"We're great, how are my granddaughters?"
"Well, Viola is at Tristan's and Jamie is at a friend's house", I said.
"Honey, I asked how are they, not where are they", she said.
I sighed and said: "I have absolutely no idea".
"Did you go to the therapist?", she asked.
"We did,", I said, "but it's just the beginning so I don't know if it will help"
"Right.", she said and sighed, "You two should really start making an effort, otherwise it will start to have an effect on Viola and everyone else"
"I know, mother.". After a moment of silence I asked: "Was I like this as well?"
"Well, you weren't exactly the most talkative girl, but you knew what's important to tell", my mother said.
"I hope that Jamie does as well"
"I'd love to see them, I haven't in a really long time", she said.
"That's what happens if you spend a month in Europe with dad", I said and she laughed.
"It was beautiful, you should really do it once in your life. Anyways, can you girls come this Friday for dinner?", she asked, "I mean, I don't know where you stand with Tristan but he's also welcome…"
"I'll be there with the girls", I said interrupting her.
"Oh, well, great, see you then!", she said and we hung up.
I looked at the time and it was already 2 P.M., I tried calling Jamie a couple of times but she didn't answer. I started to get worried and I decided to do the right thing and go to Liberty's and take Jamie home.
After about 10 minutes I arrived at her house, well mansion. I never understood why one girl needed such a huge house, but then I realised I didn't really care.
I knocked on the door and one of her many butlers opened the door.
"Hello, I'm here to take my daughter Jamie home", I said immediately.
