september came to a close at hogwarts along with the last chance of any summer sun, the air grew quite cold as winter was nearer.

elodie and iris walked through the grounds of hogwarts, elodie on her way to transfiguration and iris to care of magical creatures. elodie was sharing the new details about her and cedric's little romance story and how he made it official with just last week on a cute picnic date. cedric has quickly became best friend's with iris given that they're in the same house, she knew how head over hells cedric was for elodie, iris had to admit they made quite the perfect match and a bonus iris wouldn't have to worry about cedric every hurting her best friend as cedric did nothing but shower her with everything a girl could ever want, a true sweetheart.

iris wished she could say the same about her and draco, not that it bothered her much as they had just got over their barrier and were still chasing each other before settling on anything serious. the night in the astronomy tower played on repeat in iris' mind, they way the two of them had found anything to talk about and how their conversation flowed without the common awkward feeling she thought would arise. draco had let his guard down that night, something he admitd he'd never done it made iris feel special that she's been the only one to see this side of draco. the other common feeling of worry always made its way to iris as she over thought the fact they hardly spoke or spent time together after that night in the astronomy tower. elodie constantly reminded her that he wasn't embrassed to be seen with iris, its more the reputation side of things. this sort of comforted iris but she couldn't help but replay the conversation where he said "my bloodline means nothing compared to you." if this was the case, why hadn't he bothered with anything more then a small smile from across the room. iris understood that this was a new side of draco but she didn't understand why he thought he has a right to blankly ignore her and not even try.

elodie waved goodbye to iris as iris headed down to hagrid's class, one of the three classes she had with draco. she walked down the stairs towards the class, before she could reach the bottom someone grabbed her arm and pulled her behind a wall. she tried to wriggle free not realising it was in fact draco malfoy who had grabbed her.

"iris" he removed his hand from her arm to place it gently on her cheek. draco met those dark green eyes that have managed to turn him upside down.

iris took his hand off her face, "draco, did a cat have your tounge over the past two weeks?" she crossed her arms trying to seem tough.

"that's what i want to apologise for, i know it's no excuse buthonestly i really don't have an excuse for it. i do promise that it won't happen again, i'll try be more open to being around you when surrounded by other people just the last thing i want to be the cause of is your hurt. i know you've been thinking i'm embarrassed to be seen with you but i promise that is not it and i will try better alone or not because you, iris garcia, have managed to consume every part of me." iris just looked at this boy who stood in front of her with a complete look of shook on her face. iris was about to reply but was cut off by draco lips, iris instantly responded by kissing him back, their kiss was full of need and want. they parted and draco whispered in her ear, "i've waited since the 1st of september to do that."

"malfoy, malfoy, malfoy" blaze approached the shaking his head, "did i just see you kissing the mudblood? i always knew she'd be that easy and desperate, imagine thinking a pureblood malfoy would actually enjoy an unworthy girl like you." blaze snickered turning his eyes to iris.

his words made iris' stomach churn. no, draco wasn't just planning on using her, was he? no, no, no, she refused to believe blaze, she knew and trusted draco. her anger and hatred grew for this stuck up, rich boy that stood before her. "zabini, can't you keep your mouth shut about your fucking blood for one second." iris snapped sending blaze a glare, "i'd hate to be as conceded as you, i feel sorry for you really." iris' glare never left her face. blaze took a step closer to iris, causing her to take a step back straight into the wall behind her, she gulped as he got closer, "i'd watch your mouth if i was you, mudblood." he snarled. he backed up allowing iris to let go of the breath she was holding in. "you've got yourself a feisty one here malfoy, teach her her place or i will." blaze sent draco a stare that could kill. thats when draco lost the control he had, the anger he had been holding in finally reached breaking point. draco grabbed blaze by the collar slamming him against the wall, "i'd watch the ground your treading on zabini. its dangerous, even for you." draco kept a tight grip on blaze, almost choking him. "threaten iris again and i might have to put you in your place." blaze gulped heavily before lightly nodding his head and with that draco dropped him, roughly taking iris hand and walked them to class.

they sat together in class, draco staring at nothing as hagrid rambled on about some magical creature. draco knew blaze was scared of him but he couldn't help but worry about what he'd say, what he'd do if he caught iris alone. blaze would find anyway to try piss off draco and now that he knew iris was a trigger point, worry was the constant feeling.

iris shook him out of his daydream state with her soft and calm voice, "hey, class is over" she reached out her hand for him to take, he gladly took her soft hand in his and the pair walked back towards the castle for lunch.

"garcia, you have to promise me you'll try steer clear of zabini and the others especially when i'm not around, for your safety." draco looked at her with pleading eyes.

"i wouldn't want to go near them anyway, too unhappy and stuck up for my liking." she smiled light heartedly at draco. draco watched as those famous dimples of hers appeared on her cheeks, she tucked a bit of hair behind her ear as she dropped her eyes, smiling at the ground. draco watched her so carefully, admiring every little detail about this dark green eyed, happy hufflepuff that walked next to him. he never thought that he'd feel so many things for a girl before but what he couldn't believe was that this girl felt the same things for him, a cold hearted, slytherin who believed she deserved better but draco was determined to show her he could be better.

"draco" his thoughts instantly interrupted by her, "you keep staring" a soft blush came to her already rosy cheeks.

"i like to stare at pretty things" draco smiled as he meet her beautiful dark green eyes.
